Terrible customer service over the phone. Wouldn’t put a supervisor on the phone when requested and hung up on. Couldn’t provide me what email they supposedly sent documents too, no wonder the Troy police uses such unprofessional company
It's a Very Very Bad towing company. They was towing my Truck for only 25 miles and their unprofessional driver had accident while having my truck and then it's fourth day they are not responding and not trying to pay for my truck repairs. DO NOT USE THEM EVER PLEASE.

THEY CAME TO PICK UP THEIR CAR AND WERE TOLD THEIR REGISTRATION WAS “MISSING” EVEN THOUGH THEY CLEARLY SAID IT WAS IN THE GLOVE BOX WITH THE INSURANCE. STAFF CLAIMED THEY COULDN’T FIND IT, WHICH LED TO THREE HOURS WASTED, A COMPLETE RUNAROUND WITH THE MICHIGAN SECRETARY OF STATE, AND MY COUSIN’S DAD HAVING TO LEAVE WORK FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON.
IN THE END? THE REGISTRATION WAS FOUND RIGHT WHERE IT WAS SAID TO BE THE WHOLE TIME. IN THE GLOVE BOX. NEXT TO THE INSURANCE.
UNACCEPTABLE, INCOMPETENT, AND A MASSIVE WASTE OF TIME. THIS WHOLE SITUATION COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED WITH BASIC ATTENTION.
my distant 5th cousin came in this establishment to pick up their car the other day. a RIDICULOUS wait time. an INCOMPETENT staff, and an overall ABSOLUTELY disgusting experience. if i could choose between jumping off of the highest building in the world or troy’s towing, i would choose the building 10 times of out 10.
money hungry company. went with my sister to pick up her car and they said they couldn’t find her car registration. she told them it was in the glove box and they proceeded to not let her inside again and told her that they’ll just call her back to come inside. they never called her back inside so our dad had to get a NEW car registration at the secretary of state. once my sister got her car back the original car registration was inside the glove box THE WHOLE TIME. they just wanted to keep her car in there another night so they can charge her more. unbelievable.
I came today to pick up my car. They needed my insurance and registration forms and I told them both of them are found in the glove box of my car. They further processed to tell me that they only found my insurance but not my registration, when I know for a fact that both of them are in there.
The solution was to go on Secretary of State website and duplicate my registration. I had trouble logging into Michigan Secretary of State and overall had trouble getting my registration online. I had to call my dad who was at work to clock out and physically go to secretary of state to ask for a copy. Wasted time.
As I got my car in the end, I FOUND my car registration IN THE GLOVE BOX with my insurance. Both of forms were all already there.
Spent three hours there. Wasted my time and my dads time when it could’ve been done as soon as I got there.
Everyone was great. They kept me up to date on when the driver was going to be at my location. Great conversation from Detroit to Wixom. Would definitely use them again.
It’s my fault my vehicle was impounded I let my insurance lapse and was pulled over for not having any because honestly I can’t afford it. The office staff at Troy’s towing was very thorough and professional on the phone they provided me with my options since I currently did not have insurance. I wrote down everything they told me on the telephone prior to arriving and ensured my tow truck driver had the necessary documentation they required. When I arrived to the facility, I had NO ISSUES. I think most people on these reviews are NOT ACCOUNTABLE and instead of blaming themselves they blame the people that are servicing them. Of course we are in a bind and we want our vehicle but there are policies in place and we just have to do what we have to do.
The dispatch lady was very helpful. She answered all my questions and made the process very easy. The tow man was also very helpful. He told us the visual damage he saw and confirmed there was no way to drive the vehicle. I so appreciate the assistance during this stressful time
Troy’s Towing saved me on the side of the road. I own a trucking company and they were able to tow my box truck at a reasonable price last min. They were professional and had quality equipment. they took take a little bit longer than expected because I was in a Dangerous area off the freeway exit ramp so another one of their trucks had to block traffic, which was fine. I would highly recommend them!
This company is a rip off. They are deliberately trying to keep my family member vehicle. At first they tried not to accept their temporary registration in person. The vehicle was just purchased so they are awaiting the permanent title and registration in the mail. I was advised to send the documents to there email, since in person they were not going to accept it. Low and behold once they received the email then they had no choice but to take the documens. Then they tried to tell us heccouldn't drive it off, it had to be towed off the lot. We found out that was illegal as long as the owner have the registration that is current, they have to allow the registered owner to drive it off. Then his POA and brother said they would use their card since my their money was stolen/taken and the company denied the ability to have them enter and pay the bill directly. To help they then went and used their credit card to buy a visa card, which Troy Towing said they would try but when we returned with it they said it needs to have a zip code and name attached. This place has tried everything to delay the return of the vehicle , which as we know the longer it in their lot, the more money they charge. So if a person doesn't have cash on them and doesn't have a credit card in their name Troy Towing prey on them. The first day fee is $260.00 cash or $260.00 plus 4% if you use a card.
This is a business that thrive on the community downfall.
Horrible experience — my phone was stolen from my car while in their custody.
After my car was towed here following a medical emergency (I had a seizure while driving), one of the workers stole my iPhone from the vehicle. The phone was pinging at the exact location of the yard while my car was there. When I was finally taken back to see my car, my wallet had been emptied all over the driver’s seat — but my ID was still in its slot, proving it wasn’t the police who went through it.
Later that night, my iPhone showed up at 16754 Mansfield St, Detroit, MI 48235 — which speaks for itself. The staff delayed letting us see the car, and it’s clear now why: they were going through personal belongings.
Because of their theft, I’ve been unable to contact my doctors and deal with serious fallout from an already traumatic accident. The police have been notified.
Avoid this place at all costs — completely untrustworthy and unethical.
Very unfortunate that I could not leave zero stars. This company is responsible for towing my vehicle, and had the audacity to STEAL multiple items that were in my back seat. Absolute scum of a company and employees. Like all other negative reviews here, they will send a soulless reply suggesting that they will resolve the issue when you contact them directly, but they will only give you the run around.
left a one star solely to post about my awful experience with this company. This company illegally towed my vehicle. My car was in an authorized , legal parking spot when they decided to tow. When I tried to retrieve my vehicle after hours is calling, I noticed items were stolen from my vehicle. I have never experienced such a thing and this company should be investigated.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! And be careful of your cars parked on the street. They wrongfully towed my car, refused to give back personal belongings, charged me $500 to get my stuff, then I found my things were missing from the trunk. THEY DENIED IT. My things were there and then they weren't. Make it make sense.
They pluck cars off the street, steal your things, then charge you $$$ for your own vehicle. I didn't ask for a tow and I was legally parked.

Horrible business practices and untrustworthy employees. I do not recommend leaving your vehicle in their possession. They denied access to our car to retrieve belongings and when we picked it up the next day, they stole expensive tools from the trunk. Pathetic company
My car was stuck in a parking garage with very low clearance and after 3 weeks of looking for someone to do it I found Troy’s towing. The customer service was excellent. The female I talked to over the phone was nice, patience, and considerate. I needed two trucks and both men were very helpful and efficient. I would recommend them! They took a tough situation and turned it into something quick and easy. Thank you, guys!

Wouldn’t recommend this tow company if my life depended on it. Extremely rude customer service from on the phone to in person. Made an extremely reputable company jump through hoops to try and tow it out of their lot. Instead, made me use their services again… and stole $4 in change from my vehicle. Even though that claim will be denied, I don’t need it bad enough.
Fast & very efficient, the tow truck driver was very respectful. I most definitely will recommend them & I will use them again if needed. I needed a car that was crashed moved to get another car out the back yard & the young man knew what he was doing. Picked it up & put it back in the same spot, Thankyou young man & also thankyou to the dispatcher for being polite & patient!
Rude Rude Rude! It’s a shame how the employees to the owner is down right low down. My nephew left out with tears in his eyes coming from this place. He was told to come in with a certain amount of money to get his car out. He is a hardworking young man. He came with half in cash and the other half guess what is on his card that’s currently impounded at this place. The glass that you talk through is completely blacked out so you can’t see anyone’s face. Oh but the ladies behind that glass very distasteful and rude. He explains if they could have someone go in the car to grab his bag he is able to pay the full amount. Well those ladies behind the glass told him oh well it’s nothing they can do. However some other folks was there and they went to their vehicles and got what they needed out the cars. I’ll make sure everyone knows about this place.
Although highland park Police forced AAA to leave and disregarded my tow This lady Tia black At Troy’s Towing is a rare Gem in the world who was absolutely beautiful and I couldn’t even see her face behind the glass for safety purposes I’m sure, but thank you for being amazing, patient, and helpful. If you don’t take your frustration out on them they can do their job and you can leave happy, but I hope God blesses this woman 100 fold for being such a beautiful gem! and great Samaritan!!!
My son and I drove to downtown Detroit for a concert. When we got back to the parking ramp after the show, one of our tires was nearly flat. The first company I called for road service said they were short staffed and couldn’t help. The second company we called gave us the phone number for a different company and said, “Good Luck”. I called Troy’s next and they took the job. The ramp was deserted by this time and it wasn’t easy for me to keep calm. When the driver came he looked at the tire and listened to our situation. He put air in the tire first because it would be safer than using our donut spare for a long drive home. He waited to make sure the tire would hold air and it did! We made it home without any problem. The dispatcher at Troy’s Towing that night was patient and kind when I kept calling to get updates on the driver’s arrival. Our driver had good problem solving skills and turned what I thought was going to be a big problem into a simple fix. My recommendation is to call Troy’s Towing first when you need help in the Detroit area!
This company was called out to one of my properties by detroit police on March 4 2025 to tow my tenants vehicle. The driver took it upon themselves to tie their tow truck winch cable to one of my front porches supporting columns to pry off so that he could angle the car causing my front porch column and wall to collapse then after proceeded to attach to the car and tow it like he should have from the beginning. This same driver handed my tenant the company card and admitted fault and to call and file a claim with his company. This company is giving me the run around. First I was told to file a homeowners insurance claim and they would file a claim with their insurance company then after I advised them I have no homeowners policy I received a response to file a claim with the tenants car insurance company. I am flabbergasted at this company's response. The vehicle being towed or the tow truck never hit my home, nor am I worried about any vehicle damage. I am trying to remedy the damage done to my HOME by this negligent driver tying his chain onto my supporting column causing it to collapse. I am also shocked this is the response I am receiving from a company who seems to have a contract with the city of detroit. This whole incident happened infront of police and witnesses. They have no accountability beware when they come onto your property to tow any vehicle. You will just get the run around. Attached are pictures of the damage caused by this negligent driver and this company now is trying to brush this off with no consequences leaving me with damages and loss to my home. What's worse this negligent driver with his decision making could have injured my tenants, the police present and themselves by doing this. If they think I will not pursue legal action and that this is just going to go away they are so wrong.
Update: 3/25 This company wrote back to my review as if they are doing anything like investigating and encouraging me to call but yet all the times I called they refused to speak to me. Only dealt with me via email and still refuse to give me their insurance information. Still waiting for this company to do the right thing and rectify what their negligent employee did to my house. Like i said beware they have no accountability. They left me with thousands in damages and leaving me with no choice but to file a lawsuit.
I can’t say enough great things about Troy’s Towing! From start to finish, their service was absolutely amazing. Shannon, the dispatcher, went above and beyond to make sure I got a tow as quickly as possible—even though my destination was over 50 miles outside the pickup location. Her dedication and professionalism made a stressful situation so much easier.
My driver, Richard, was equally incredible. He worked hard and fast while being super courteous the entire time. He made me feel completely comfortable, which is so important in situations like this.
If you ever need towing service, I highly recommend Troy’s Towing. Their team truly cares about their customers!
Unbelievable!! The tow truck driver released my car while at an angle, it then rolled down off the truck into my father's garage severely damaging it. The driver then just gives us a card and takes off. Got the estimate for about $7500 worth of damage. Made a home owners insurance claim because the vehicle was actually fine, but also made a vehicle insurance claim. I wrote them a letter like I was instructed and told them the details. I have a feeling I'm going to get the run around from this company, based off all the other reviews.
