I’d give zero stars if I could everything started off great with this company until it came time to get my belongings back continuously saying they’ll have their driver call they’ll have their driver call but the driver never calls and eventually they just stop answering the phones theft of over $1000 is a felony buddy I gave you guys a week to respond and still nothing
Flexible schedule worked with me on the time to get my car an everything was in it still for everyone saying they take stuff i had no problem an was only 40 for them storing it there for 3 days
If i could give 0 stars i would. The man who came to pick my car up. Literally knocked on my door letting me know the car was up repossession , that hes picked up my car before & that if i wanted it released i can call credit acceptance and pay the remaining balance and if he hears them say release it he will release it . Its raining i run inside to grab my shoes and coat i pay it online and have the people on the phone , he told me hell wait for me to come back outside while he takes his smoke . Gave me a phone number saying to call him . Was flirting and making sure i was off the phone with credit acceptance. Told me hed wait, And when i went outside he was gone. I told him even if he took the car i still needed my childs car seat.
Why lie and say youll wait? Why offer for me to pay it and when i do still repossess it ? & why give me a fake phone number.
Dont makes sense . My car was able to be released he took it anyways . Ima sue .
Took my car out of my driveway and when I went to recover it they brought it out from the gate and my tire was completely shredded into pieces. Called to complain was told to leave message. Never called me back and of course I had to buy a new tire. Customer service sucks
Damaged passenger side of my front bumper And took all my change and bottles ? ion care about the change and bottles obviously they need it more but my bumper that’s a different story
Refused to give me details on car or schedule a pick up hung up on me multiple times after the ring around the rosey on who I needed to call. Will update when I see what's missing or damaged as they don't care drug my car out the drive way tore it all up. Set a time to get car and dude wanted to take his time and try and extort me for money and leaving me to call police to get car back due to them using some random tow take it to a remote location with no actual business have to call and they don't answer or return calls in a timely manner.
Took and repo my car at 8 in the morning and I am handicapped so they took off with my walker and cane but sent that with car but stole my sailor moon seat covers they got to chose what the got to keep also they weren’t gentle with my car and yes I paid to get it out I did contact a lawyer and I am pressing charges not only for stealing but for abusive repo on my vehicle
Yes, my car was repossessed because I fell behind — but I took responsibility, paid what I owed, and got it back. What I didn’t expect was to deal with a company like Stingray Recovery, who straight up stole from me and then tried to lie about it.
When I called to get my belongings, they tried to charge me a $75 cash-only fee, even though my finance company said I didn’t have to pay anything. After I told them that, they suddenly said “just come to the door” for my things. At the door, I asked about the cash, title, and registration that were in the car, and I was told it was all “still in there.”
That was a lie. When the car was sent to Manheim Detroit to be released, it was already cleared out — and Manheim has photo proof that everything was gone before they ever received the car.
I’ve reported Stingray Recovery to the BBB, CFPB, FTC, and the Michigan Attorney General. This company is shady and there are tons of other reviews saying they do the same thing. I handled my part. They need to be shut down for how they treat people.
If you get your car towed by them, don’t everything valuable to be in the car, they took my cash, change, vape , weed, equipement, they are thieves, they claim they didn’t steal nothing, and based it off photos they took in the yard, but photos were taken after the stuff was taken out, they charge you 85 bucks which legally they can’t charge you for removing your belongings out of vehicle, I will be sueing.
They are very respectful and made getting my personal belongings a breeze. Yes it sucked paying 50$ for my things but it’s the lenders policy. Other than that, very respectful, nice people! Nothing was missing out of my car! Gentleman got me bags and a cart to retrieve my belongings. I was nervous because of the reviews but everyone was kind and respectful! Not their fault we didn’t pay our shit!! Don’t be bitter.
Just had this guys drop my car in the driveway and when he pulled off making a loud noise and he pulled half my front bumper off of my car and they are npt answering ect!!! I AM EXTREMELY PISSED OFF!
They definitely stole a few things out my car and I am extremely disappointed because those were things that I REALLY needed including my prescription glasses. Smh it’s sad how they can get away with things like this.
The worst place ever!!!! I spoke on several occasions and never told me I would be charged 60 for my items. I'm confused as why my plate was here anyway. Car in one place I'm charged then plates in another place and charged. My plates to pick up is almost as much as I paid to get tags. Smh! Oan very rude place
Let me just say this. The people that left reviews don’t be mad at them for you having to have the experience you had. I had the misfortune of having to escort my own husband here to pick his car up. No issues at all. Very respectable ppl. Can’t be mad at a company that is doing their job. Want to be mad at someone? Be mad at yourself for not taking care of your responsibilities. I saw plenty of cars there with zero damage so please don’t try to discredit a company because again, they are doing their job! Thank you guys for being so kind and taking care of my husband quick and efficiently. I think he learned his lesson.
Worst business out there !!! They stole most my important belongings out my car, stole over $7 in change but dumped all the pennies on my seat, vehicle was there less than two weeks and still charged me for my belongings they didn’t keep. They trashed my car terribly and i took pictures. They already had a lawsuit out against them and now is about to have another one!!!!
Damaged my wife’s car. Horn doesn’t work. Right rear tire was flat. Right rear fascia is scuffed. 1/2 tank of gas missing. We have him on camera when he took the vehicle. Didn’t even bother checking the vin or the plate.
I wish I could give yall zero stars! yall trashed my truck and threw all of my items in the dumpster! I had so many clothes and shoes that were lost due to yall incompetence!
I found myself having to unfortunately deal with these folks. After I read the reviews and spoke to the not so friendly person that answers the phone, I thought for sure I'd have the same experience as most of these reviews. I was pleasantly met by a man named Taylor. He was kind and empathetic to the situation. He apologized many times about the wait to get my vehicle. He was personable and kind. This company could take lessons from this young man. I had my purse and work tote in my vehicle and nothing was missing. Unfortunately this is an easy service to hate, but Taylor made it not so unpleasant and humiliating. Thanks man! He cleaned my vehicle off (snow) got it running and even aired up a low tire. If they could teach the guy answering the phones to be friendly, I'd give a 5 star.
String Ray/ Smart Recovery or whatever other name this company goes by: You KNOW you stole out of my car and saying "this is a family owned business... we aren't like that" and/or "I will review my cameras" does not reassure or even help anyone in getting their stolen items back. I guess you operate under the guise that most of the people who visit you are in debt and already stressed with 9/10 people being unable to get their vehicle back so what would it be to STEAL A LICENSE PLATE, right? Well. I did get my vehicle back and not only was the VALID license plate and registration tag missing but also several pricier items left within the LOCKED vehicle which, at some point, was re-keyed. Per the auction group and my auto creditor I am filing a police report. I see you are bonded so I will get a positive resolution one way or the other.
There’s no way to get in contact with them. Called them one day, guy answered and said come on a Friday to pick up my stuff, I show up and they didn’t answer the door. And there car was parked outside the building.
This place bags up all the items that they figured you might want and charge you to get them back including your license plate and the cops won't do anything about it the only thing you can do is lawyer up
I wish I could give these scamming thieves a negative star. They will trash your car and steal your change and tell you “it’s what they do in the industry” news flash dummy your a con artist and a petty thief. That not a industry that’s not a real job they take your car and make you pay for YOUR personal belongings.. THATS CALLED A SCAM!!!!
