I want to stop by saying that I'm a lifelong friend of John's cousin and we has several mutual friends. I purchased three cars from him over the years and as long as the vehicles have no issues the transactions go smoothly. Unfortunately that has not been my experience when a vehicle does have problems.
I purchased an SUV from John in October 2026. After driving it for a couple weeks I noticed something wasn't right with the engine. I brought it back to him and he checked the engine ,drove it around with me and couldn't find anything wrong.
Fast forward to now: the vehicle broke down 2 weeks ago on the highway. The fuel pump failed,timing chain went,the valve head is bent, and there are additional issues with the engine. I called and text John several times and he has not responded at all.
I have had the vehicle for 4 months and I'm now facing a $2500 dollar mechanic bill on top of the fact that I paid cash for the SUV and was overcharged to begin with.
If you purchase a vehicle from this place and everything goes smoothly you'll probably have no issues. But if the vehicle has problems it's a completely different story. I'm supposedly a friend of the family and this is how I was treated so I can only imagine how someone they don't know would be treated.
I purchased three cars from him in this last experience was by far the worst. The SUV looked good on the outside but it turned out to have serious mechanical problems.
Just be careful and really look over what you're buying on this lot. Not everything on that lot is what it appears to be.
He has goodlooking JUNK
John sold me a car that had a transmission fail three weeks after purchase. Subsequently, he ducked multiple phone calls. When I finally got him on the phone he did nothing to help the situation. This dealership sells lemons. Stay away.
I was new to Hanover and knew i needed new brakes on my Nissan. My buddy recommended Auto Etc and he was 100% correct when he said they were honest, reasonable, upfront and professional. Now i will pass on that same message. Great shop!
Amazing family owned business!!! They will take care of you! My family and I get all of our cars from here. They have been in business for 30+ years and have a very loyal costumer following around the south shore and it’s for a reason!
Brought my truck here today. John did an amazing job. My truck is a 2016 Toyota Tacoma and was pretty dirty. When I picked my truck up, it looked like it just came out of a showroom. I highly recommend his service. His pricing is excellent. You will be happy with his service
Had an 11 AM appointment scheduled for maintenance. I showed up early and was told to "drive around for a couple hours" because the bays were full. I previously confirmed on the phone that I was going to wait for the service on-site. The only reason I scheduled with this shop was to avoid the cost of the MB dealership in Boston. Instead, I ended up wasting half a day commuting without service.
Quite possibly the most honest, no-pressure, quick and easy transaction on a car purchase I ever had anywhere, including the dealer. They are responsive to email and transparent about the pricing. The pricing was very good for the quality and condition of the vehicle. Very accommodating in every way including the financing, preparation of the vehicle, making my family comfortable in the waiting area, and explaining everything about the model vehicle I purchased. Very knowledgeable about Mercedes Benz vehicles. This is not my first rodeo, so I wasn't expecting this to go so well, but I could not be happier. I would highly recommend this used car dealer to anyone and would consider them first for any future purchases. I bet, if they didn't have the car I want on the lot, they would be able to find it for me.
I needed a new SUV with three rows of seating and 4x4, and needed to trade in my old caravan. Everyone there was very helpful they let me drive a couple different SUV. I found one I love and asked them to address a couple things for me, they took care of all my concerns and had the SUV ready the next day! Thanks for the easiest car buying experience of my life. I would highly recommend them!
