I always shop at the Newport location which is absolutely spotless. This afternoon did some shopping at the southern artery location. Nice employees, store poorly stocked and most importantly very dirty and outdated. Last..the deli stores the cold cut bulk in zip lock bags rather than taking the time to wrap in Saran wrap like every one else in the industry , how old are those did not look very clean neither
My husband was given wrong blood pressure meds...he got very sick that night...where his pressure was under 100...he did get a call about the meds being wrong after the fact ..so he went to your grocestore the next day....apologies was given to him but he was also promised a gift card of $200 which he hasn't received yet....so don't promise something you can't give....Mark Vidal is his name....let's see what happens now
This grocery store is terrible. Most of the active checkouts are self-checkouts. To avoid spending three times the expected amount, you need to have a shopper account, which limits your spending to twice the expected amount. It’s another typical Kroger spin-off.
S&s has been raising prices even more lately which makes no sense since inflation rates are down so that means everything else isn’t going up that much so why are certain products there going up? Also The chicken or at least the Pradue chicken hasn’t been stored well or something because it will look yellowish and A lot of them will have something leaking out of it. Also the lettuce and fruit often seems straight rotten and you have to search for a good one.
Big store. Lots if well stocked fresh produce and some fresh prepared sandwiches,salads,soups,etc. Self serve wings and a few other choices.Tried the bananas...yummy. I've been in this store many times in the past. Today I noticed a real change in the quality and presentation and was impressed.
Today, 7/4/25, at cashier number 20, Ron was exceptionally nice to me and my mother. When we were about to pay for our items, he so very politely asked if we had our Stop & Shop card. When we left, he said, “Have a great day!” Next time we go shopping, this Stop & Shop will be our first pick.
Never leave not knowing what you are eating for dinner ?️ lunch and breakfast. They also have a pretty good health department. One problem ? The prices are all to high and it's not just Stop & Shop it's all the stores

Grocery store with plenty of groceries! You can put a shopping list together (with aisle locations) on the app so you don't miss anything. Also has it's own robot!
I'm 75 been a cashier for 24 years was cashing out at shop so artery with her name Lisa after leaving her I was feeling so low and sad.she treated me like a child.i admit I called her Hon but I tried to apologize. She just went on about how rude I was and I've been told this before.ive had her before and she was like this with my son.in my books she shouldn't be working with the public. Sorry oh and she also reprimanded me for apologize
10/15/24 2:38PM STORE#17 there are only 2 registers open, I am pregnant and the waiting line is very long and customer service is bad, the Chinese person at the cashier is mean to customers, one lady has disability in front of me using an electronic chair which she cannot read on the screen at check out, the cashier ask her to back up her electronic car to press the button on the screen, and staring at her and wait. It is a common senses that she is not able to reach the screen or read, she can't just help her out. I then press the yes on the screen to process the transaction so she can go home with her food.
I am having soup on my cart, and I told the cashier to give me bags because the cover is not stable. she said I should go get bags at the soup place, she then throw me two little bags and said:"put the soup in the bag right now! You are messing up the cart and other people are using it!" She was very mean and try to teach me a lesson other then helping customer out. The line behind me was long, and she is doing things very slowly and not nice.
If you want anything in Grocery and farm produce including eatables and other store services in Quincy.....this is a place for everything to stop and shop for your day to day needs. Be sure to get a Stop and Shop rewards card to get rewards points and discounts. highly recommended...
I was shopping at this store on June 8th 2024. While in produce, looking at the strawberries, an employee with name tag Stephen, rolled his cart up to my ankles in a very rude and disrespectful way, basically for me to move out of his way…which caught me off guard as I was looking down at the strawberries. I looked up and he was staring at me with an ignorant look on his face. He never said “excuse me” but kept his cart in my direction on purpose, to make me feel like I needed to move away immediately so he can restock. I would’ve appreciated a simple “excuse me” especially since I was there shopping minding my business before he even rolled over his cart and stopped it directly in my direction. How about get training on better customer service? To be disrespectful or rude to a customer who did nothing to you is unacceptable.
10.30 pm and only one register opened, self checkouts are closed, I think at least one self checkout needs to be open. Lots of people in the line, and at this time for sure people don’t want to stay here waiting. I can understand if there’s understaffing but this is ridiculous to have one register
Stop and shop charges such high prices for no reason when I can goto star market and pay so much less for the same groceries.
When I did still shop here, the guy at check out at night is a fantastic employee. I always seem to go in when he's there and any time I've ever had an issue he handled it quick and without making it seem like it was an inconvenience to him. Dude is great.
Went to Stop and Shop for my weekly groceries around 7am on a Friday.
Deli, meat and bakery counters were open for business. The seafood counter was closed.
The store manager stated that it was ‘company policy’ for the seafood counter to open at 8am.
It sounds like a very strange policy. The issue looks more like a staffing issue. If that was the case, I wish the manager would have stated that.
I ended up going across the street to Roxie’s for the fish!!!
The app is awesome and it really helps us customers! Stop n Shop is always my go to place to do my grocery shopping. Today I had to run to grab stuff at the Southern Artery Quincy location but unfortunately the cashier that I had was too busy chitchatting with her co worker. I’ve always had pretty amazing cashiers from previous shoppings but today was the only time i had experience a quite a rude one. She didn’t even acknowledged or even looked at me when I put my stuffs on the counter. Then I showed her my stop n shop card for her to scan but she didn’t pay attention that i had to show her 3 times!! She keeps talking to the co-worker! Stop n Shop is pretty amazing but I would suggest that they should train the employees more on how to give a good customer service, a simple ‘hello’ could go a long way. Thank you!
Store layout is pretty good. Their recent change in their recycling machines have cut down on the problems but they need constant servicing as it fills up quickly. The people dealing with the recycling machines are lazy at times and don’t want to change out the bags and so they keep shaking it to “fake” the response to allow more recycling but it fills up too fast!
Store also can get pretty busy and I wish they still had the scan and bag option like before but I understand lots of theft happened that way! The self check out should be increased to have some that are for under 10 items so people can run through the store and checkout quicker.
I am a huge fan of small markets like Aldi. Huge stores like this with their equally huge prices are simply incomprehensible to me. The eggs spanned from $4.89 to roughly $10.00. Aldi was $3.54 my last visit. And I don’t need 250 types of cereal (8 varieties of Cap’n Crunch???). Aldi really needs to open some stores in Quincy. Brockton is the closest. My heart goes out to families who must shop at stores like this.
Very congested even during regular, non-holiday times. A lot of people shop here and it sometimes feels like the store isn't big enough for the number of customers who come in. They do a great job at keeping items stocked and I come out with what I was looking for almost 100% of the time. Had a store employee come up behind me before I was even done getting my receipt at self checkout to start his own checkout purchase but other than that I haven't had a bad experience here.
