What clients say about Vintage on the Common in Littleton Township (MA)

I visited this store for the first time last weekend. I’d driven past it a few times when it was closed, but saw others inside and decided to try it out. I’ll preface my review by saying that I am not a reseller, but an average person interested in finding good-quality vintage items for myself. While I am an avid thrifter and have been to some exceptional vintage stores and some not-so-great ones, I came to this store with no expectations. That being said, I found this store to fall under the not-so-great category. Upon first entering, the store is extremely crowded and not well organized. As with many antique stores, it was dusty; however, this space felt especially dirty due to its small size and the sheer amount of items crammed inside. The volume of stuff piled throughout the store felt hazardous and overwhelming. The clothing racks placed at the front of the store were difficult to move and felt unsafe; at one point, racks were being shifted while I was browsing on the opposite side, nearly trapping me between two metal racks. The back of the store also has a garment rack in a small nook, but is hard to access because it is surrounded by piles of stuff on the floor. There are additional racks along the right side of the store as well. Other reviews also mention the clutter, and while some customers may enjoy digging as part of the “thrifting experience,”I personally prefer an organized space where items are easy to view and access. The lady who works there (perhaps the owner) seemed nice, but is a bit overbearing. She follows customers around the store and makes a comment about nearly every item they pick up. While I understand the intent is to prevent theft or drive a sale, the level of monitoring made the shopping experience uncomfortable. I felt as though I could not browse freely. I can't speak for all items, but clothing and accessories are overpriced for what they are. Mint condition vintage items would justify the prices, but the selection here aligns more with the untouched, out-of-style clothes you'd find at a bargain thrift store—without the bargain price. Some are even heavily soiled and stained and still unreasonably priced at over $20. The few items I considered purchasing had visible stains that did not appear removable. Had the pricing reflected the condition, I may have still considered buying them, but the prices did not align with their wear. Costume jewelry earrings are priced at $20 a pair. Prices also do not appear negotiable; I overheard her repeatedly decline a man’s offers on an item, stating that she needs to “make a large profit, not just a few dollars.” While it’s understandable for a business to want to be profitable, openly emphasizing this to customers—particularly when items are already overpriced—was off-putting. I was excited to try this store, but the experience was underwhelming. Afterward, I left a Yelp review, and the owner responded by suggesting I was someone she has an ongoing issue with on Facebook. I do not have Facebook, and my only interaction with her was during my visit to the store last weekend. Dismissing a customer’s review by attributing it to personal drama reflects poorly on the business and its owner. I stand by my review as a fair and honest account of my experience.

I absolutely love this shop. It’s the perfect kind of original vintage store with so much great stuff to sift through including amazing quality truly vintage high quality clothing, tons of jewellery and housewares. Plan to spend some time there. Mia is awesome. Just found a bunch of stocking stuffers but more than that some great stuff for myself. Some people just don’t get how amazing it is and that’s ok, there’s plenty of parking at Target.

I love this place! I feel like a kid in my grandparent’s attic! Something different around every bend. And you’ll need to come back because there is a LOT of stuff, lol. I’ve seen a couple of uptight reviews. Nonsense! Drop in and see Mia. She’s got quite the collection. Industry people should take look for set design pieces.

I love shopping at Vintage on the Common, I always find something wonderful and Mia is friendly & helpful. The shop is filled with a wide variety of items from vintage clothes to art to household items. I’ve found Danish modern dishes, jewelry and recently a beautiful vintage Coach bag all at good prices. The treasure hunt is part of the fun. Definitely recommend.

I stopped by for the first time recently and legitamitely could not tell if the entrance was the entrance due to the amount of items blocking the door. I managed to squeeze in and had a look around but it was incredible difficult to do so due to the lack of clear pathways. Some areas were totally inaccessible. There was a neat selection of items but they were not always grouped together well. It seemed like groupings had been attempted here and there at one point but never followed through with. At one point I noticed a desk in the store that was for employees but it was also inaccessible and had an old used drink container on it. From reading the owners responses to other lower reviews I feel badly that she has been ill, but I also hesitate to recommend due to the entire store seeming like a fire hazard and semi-hoarding atmosphere. I genuinely hope the owner considers getting some help with reorganizing her items to best showcase her wares. I think the shop has potential but it is not for me at this time. Best to you.

My girlfriend and I saw Vintage on the Common while driving to Kimball's Farm and decided to stop in. We struck gold with vintage attire and Halloween costumes as Mia delighted us with anecdotes and encouragement. I am dressing as Julia Child, so Mia got to work finding blouses that could fit a broad-shouldered, thick man. Twas a silly task, but we got exactly what we needed. My gf and I both walked away with cool clothes for everyday wear as well. A truly enjoyable experience.

This is exactly the place to go if you are a lover of a somewhat unfathomable, entirely magical consignment shop. It's the shop that keeps on giving- there are new surprises and wonders around every corner. The owner is absolutely lovely to talk to, knows her stock and is so so helpful. It's a 45 minute drive from home, but we will be coming back, because it's worth it.

Spent 3 hours going through her inventory in an old mill that is a lot like shopping the bins, but with racks and cardboard boxes piled on top of each other. In other words—old fashioned picking—which is cool but…. for the dirt and sweat of hard core picking I expected reasonable pricing. The owner was hesitant to name prices as we went. At the end when presented with an enormous pile of stuff I’d chosen—scraps of fabric, 80s cotton clothing, vintage handbags, she started pricing things individually between $10 and $50. Most items were priced at $15 or $20. In other words, it’s a bin picking experience at retail prices. Most of the items priced at $15 would realistically only sell for $15 to $20. No name 80s slips, kids esprit shirts, random mass market brand 80s blouses. Ended up having to cull an enormous pile down to very few items because it was so expensive. This is NOT priced for wholesale. Also—her space in the building should not be open tot be public. I was literally climbing over piles of open boxes full of stuff. And the owner pointed out a 30’ ladder that she was afraid, if we touched it, might come crashing down. I won’t go back.

Absolutely worth checking out! The owner is so friendly and welcoming, and there's such a wide variety of stuff at a good price, you'll definitely fall in love with something during your time here! Already looking forward to my next visit :)

I have driven past this shop quite often and always thought it was a furniture store after reading the store sign. Decided to look inside today and discovered a cute vintage shop with so much to look at-not just furniture. Found a rare wallet from Morocco and a brand new board game. It will be fun to go back.

super cute store but their hours are inaccurate. I’m gone 2 times within their supposed open hours just to find the doors locked and no one inside.

Don’t let the chaos of the interior scare you off! There’s a ton of merchandise in here to look at, but it’s well worth the hunt. Take your time, don’t rush yourself - I guarantee you’ll find something you can’t leave without. The variety of items is so good - I got two vintage dresses, a kids books, pottery, a jewelry box, and a few trinkets last time I was here. The owner, Mia, is SO nice and I really enjoyed chatting with her. As we talked, she said “oh I have to show you this dress!” And boom - she pulled out this amazing vintage black dress that fit like a dream and was exactly my style. That’s the serendipity of shopping vintage! I’m so glad she pulled it out, because it’s now hanging in my closet. I will be back to hunt through the new items!

I like places like this and being a mile away it has potential for me to rate it much higher. I won't call out one of the owners publicly but just so she knows who I am I'll give her a one word clue so she knows why I left a one star review. Guitar. I'll give this place another chance but I won't be back if I walk out feeling the way I did yesterday. ?

Variety of items from furniture to jewelry and great prices. We got a chair for $7. The things they have are almost like new.

Their prices are amazing. The Selection is hit or miss. You never know what to expect! My only complaint is their lack of clarity regarding their hours. My favorite part is the back room. Which is supposed to be for insiders only. If you ask the cashier to show you the free section: you will be guided to a back room where There is tons of free furniture and novelties. You will just have to pay a $3 fee for each item you select. Which is very reasonable when you consider that many items are furniture. (:
