This place was great when it was free to drop off electronics. Then they introduced some reasonable fees. OK, no problem. Now it is just ridiculous. I'm pretty sure there are two goals for an electronics recycling center... to A) encourage people to bring their e-waste somewhere it can get recycled rather than be put in a landfill and B) to profit from the metals (scrap metals, copper, gold, silver, etc) contained in the electronics. What now has me scratching my head is the current $20 minimum fee... This seems quite counterintuitive, as a large majority of people are going to simply throw their laptop, old phone, fax machine, monitor, etc in the garbage rather than drive out of their way AND pay between $20-$100 dollars to drop off the items. This may not be a direct fault of Gold Circuit as they may need to do this to keep the doors open, but you'd think that in a state that is taxing the ever living daylight out of us to be "green" they could at least subsidize locations like this so people actually recycle their items.
The last time I visited Gold Circuit was about 18 months ago. At that time they did not charge a fee to recycle computer electronics. Now they do: $10 for each piece of hardware. Had I known that in advance I would have gone elsewhere! But as it was I paid the $20 for the two pieces of Hardware to get off my hands. So folks beware it's not as inexpensive as it used to be!
Great place to dispose of unwanted or unneeded electronics and old AC units. I brought a pick-up truck load of old TV's, computers, printers, laptops, stereo equipment, Window AC Units, etc. A guy came out and unloaded my truck, He was very pleasant to deal with. I paid $20 for AC Unit and then $20 more for the rest of the load. Great Deal!!! Went back again last week with 2 large flat screen TVs, and was charged $20! Very pleased with their customer service!
This place is great they took all my old electronics,basically. Anything That plugs in they take. All the workers were very helpful I'd fully Recommend. This place.
we have partnered with Gold Circuit E-Cycling for our styrofoam collections since re-foamit went out of business. I have found Matt and his colleagues to be extremely responsive and thoroughly professional. I'm happy to recommend them.
