I was up in New England area for a clam chowder tour. Unfortunately my car's alternator went out on me. Fred's took me in first thing in the morning and got me in and out in less than an hour and a half. Couldn't be happier with how quick they were and their prices were reasonable as well. My husband and I have been going to Fred’s for a few years for both our inspections and a couple different repairs. They’re always quick and fairly priced, and if they have to hold onto our car a bit longer they keep us in the loop. We can’t say enough wonderful things about how friendly, helpful, and honest Fred’s is!
I was in the area the day before and driving down had some pretty serious car trouble that would have prevented me from going home the following day. Luckily I made it to the hotel and the next morning which was the soonest I was able to reach out to anyone about it, and at 8AM took my car in on an emergency basis so that I could make it home. To find a garage open that had other appointments scheduled and helped out anyway really says a lot about them. If I had cash I would have forced them to take a tip. Not only did they help out in a pinch, but they informed me of another safety issue stemming from damage caused by the problem they addressed. I wish I remembered his name, he was so nice. Hi everyone I do not recommend this place at all. I grew up in riverside all my life I was in the neighborhood and went to Fred’s service to simply ask them a question about my lawn equipment that’s needed minor attention.. the secretary is extremely rude and said nope we don’t do that and this is not how u run a business or treat ur customers.very very disappointing. Thanks
Went for a sticker. Watched the employees drive away. Gone for 20 minutes, and although there was only 1 car in front of me, I ended up waiting 50 minutes to get a sticker.
The owner Ramy was extremely helpful. Came in to fix a problem and they charged $100 less than the other 3 shops i went to. Ross quickly found the problem and had my car back to me before lunch. Will definitely come back here again ?
I’m a 8 year Mercedes-Benz technician. He would not pass my car because he thought my tire tread was touching the wear bar, as you can see in this picture, it is not touching it, and also measures 2.5/32, above the limit. Been coming here since 2001, you have disappointed me. I even took the flashlight and showed him it was above it! There is no excuse, you can’t just fail a car because it close to the limit.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars. About 2 months ago my son and his friend did some minor work to my wife’s car which will b his car in few months. It was overheating after they worked on it. I called Fred’s. since they are honest and fair priced, they r busy shop. They couldn’t get to it for a wk. my wife needed it sooner so I made the HORRIBLE mistake of taking it to Central st Garage( I live on same st as both). Central st Garage did diagnostic test( which they def didn’t do) and charged me $150. I was told the car was no good cuz head gasket blown and cracked block. I’m no mechanic but know little bit. Didn’t trust it since they never even pulled spark plugs cuz still pollen on them after supposedly testing. I took it to Fred’s to b sure. Come to find out it was just the water pump. Fred’s fixed it quickly and has been fine since! I will NEVER take my cars anywhere else no matter how long I have to wait! If u r looking for an honest mechanic, Fred’s is the place! From the bottom of my heart, I can’t thank Fred’s enough!

I brought my 2018 GMC Sierra in for a brake check not knowing what to expect. The mechanic walked through each tire (brake pad/rotors etc) and assured me it wasn’t necessary to have them changed at this time. I wanted to double check because I have 4 young children. Without question, fantastic customer service and they’re definitely not in the business of trying to get work done you don’t need. I would recommend Fred’s auto repair for anyone looking for top notch service without the upsell!!!
I brought my vehicle in and had a few different things done I was happy with this experience! The price was fair considering what was done! Able to knock of fee if do work there! Send out alignments which is fine cause was able to verify another issue!!
Came in for an oil change and inspection, the guys here are friendly and also pretty quick at their jobs.
Edit: a fair and friendly shop. Had my brakes done on my CRV and they got it done the day it was dropped off, and didn't try to rip me off or upset me on anything. I'll come to these guys with car problems as long as I live in the area.
Fred's auto repair in Mansfield ma. Is great Robbie is great to talk too and they have reasonable rates and quality work. Only place I'll bring my truck. ?
Have been getting my car serviced here through at least four different owners and mechanics over 20 years?. They are absolutely the best, not sure what some of these bad reviews are talking about. Courteous, quality work, friendly people. Wouldn't take my cars anywhere else.
Had taken my car here in the past for a inspection sticker and they always seemed reliable but when I brought my car to them for an exhaust issue the mechanic had my car for a week when I finally inquired about it he told me he had to replace my cadiletic converter so I told him go ahead when I did not here for awhile called him back he told me he wanted 1100 dollars up front because people have burned him in the past when I asked if I gave him the money how long would be to fix it he said two weeks because it was a dealer part and that there may be even more cost when I found another mechanic to do the work and went to get my car back he seemed as if he didn't car hate to leave poor reviews but I felt the attitude of this mechanic was very arrogant and unprofessional and would not recommend him.
Outstanding service. Honest, helpful crew. I was under a bit of a time crunch and they cared enough to get my work done by the weekend! I’ll keep going back.
Did a clutch job and various other work - very reasonable prices as well.
Came here expecting a fast inspection, it did not happen. Took over 25 minutes for them to inspect one vehicle. Don't come here for fast service. Expect to wait upwards of an hour to get service.
I asked this garage to investigate my Check Engine Light (CEL) being on, and to repair my leaking brake line, and check my fuel pump. They kept my car for a week without calling me. When I contacted them a week later, I was told they could not tell me the reason for the (CEL) and they did not do anything else.
My car was returned to me with the battery nearly dead and not one repair undertaken and I lost a week's time.
