DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS! They are Rude unprofessional & NOT customer friendly. Rented a car from them but failed to have car available for the confirmed prepaid rental. Lady behind desk yelling at me saying she tried calling me, blaming AVIS for not providing them enough rental cars. Extremely horrible to deal with! Would NOT do any business with a company that does not value their customers.

I called GEICO for roadside assistance after finding myself stranded in a shopping center parking lot. They connected me with Thompson’s Towing, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the very first call, the communication was clear, professional, and reassuring.
Andrew, my tow operator, showed up in less than fifteen minutes! He was polite, efficient, and made sure both me and my vehicle were taken care of. He explained every step, answered my questions, and provided top-notch customer service from start to finish.
What started as a stressful moment turned into a smooth and easy experience thanks to Andrew and the team at Thompson’s Towing. Highly recommend them if you ever find yourself needing roadside help. Ask for Andrew—he’s the real MVP!
My car broke down last night in Aberdeen and Thompsons towing gave me a tow to their shop, I was stranded and they gave me a ride to a hotel until my car was ready the next morning. Amazing service

Every positive review for this place must be paid or a family friend. It’s absolutely terrible. The business, the employees, and the owners. Slum lords with thick fake chains and terrible attitudes. Worse than your Typical used car man. Slimy. This would be the last place I would ever give business to. Terrible. Not even a last resort option.
My car got stuck in a ditch in a parking lot, of all places, so I called AAA and they sent someone from Thompson's. Anthony came and he super nice and so careful in getting my car out. He didn't just place the flatbed under the car, but he carefully and patiently studied where to place the flatbed to pick the car out without any scratches or anything.
My car was towed here after an accident. I was told I could not get my tags until the insurance company picked up the car. Once they did I called and Thompson told me the tags were still on the car when my insurance company picked up the car. I then called the insurance company and they had someone go out to the lot twice (ni tags were on the car) and then looked at the pictures from the day it was picked up and no tags were on the car in the pictured. So I called them back after arguing that State Farm did not pick up the car with the tags they then switched their story to argue I must’ve picked them up, after they checked their book that noted they were supposed to take the tags off the car. They lost my tags and are tryna blame me when.....why would I call them a few times if I had the tags. DO NOT get your car towed here.
I had a truly unfortunate experience with Thompson Towing. They operate in a way that leaves no room for any understanding or courtesy. My son's car was towed so swiftly that he didn't even have a moment to react. When we arrived at their location, despite their claim of being a 24-hour towing company, they immediately called the police after my son knocked on their window. He never had a chance to explain that he simply wanted to pick up his car. To make matters worse, they lied to the police, accusing him of disorderly conduct. This blatant racism and unwarranted hostility are unacceptable. Beware of this towing company's discriminatory practices and lack of basic decency. It's a deeply troubling and unjust situation, especially given the hard work my son puts in.
Went here for a state inspection. Great service from phone call to schedule to completion. I feel like I got an honest inspection/service. The tech (Pete) explained all the details to me, which helped to inform my decisions. They support the military with a discount. Great honest business.
They got me in for a same day appointment for my state vehicle inspection. I dropped off my car and waited in the lobby and got to see what hard working and professional people they are. Glad to have such good mechanics so close to home.
My wife's minivan was stranded yesterday at Aberdeen Proving Ground, 25 miles from home. When I was unable to arrange towing through insurance, I did a search for towing companies in the area and found Thompson's. They answered the phone right away even though it was well into the evening. They came right out and picked the van up and even offered to take my wife and sons home. I ended up having them take it to their own shop where they got it in this morning and had it fully repaired by mid-day. When I went to pick it up this evening, I found a professional front office, a clean shop, and a secured parking lot. I don't live in the Aberdeen area; but if I did, I might be at Thompson's much more often.
Highly recommend based on this one experience.

I had such a wonderful experience with Thompson's. I lost my key fob. I called AAA for a lock out and it was Thompson's to the rescue. They opened my car door, still no key fob. So I called the dealer, they said if I got the car towed to the dealer they could make me a new fob in 3 days for $650!!!! I was close to tears! The amazing Thompsons employee who unlocked my car, asked if I would like to use their services. He mentioned he could tow it to his shop and they could make me a fob same day. Of course I said, yes!!! The Thompson employees were responsive and helpful and had me back on the road in no time, with a new key fob in hand, for 1/2 the price of the dealership. Their kindness and professionalism will keep me coming back. Highly recommend.
We were traveling 95 south the day before New Year’s Eve when we thought we experienced a failed wheel bearing. Thompson’s got us in for service on New Year’s Eve, listened to our description, diagnosed the problem, and kept us informed of their progress in fixing the issue. They promptly got us on our way. My thanks to Michelle and her team for quality work. If you are in Aberdeen MD and in need of auto service I highly recommend Thompson’s!
Almost got hit by a Thompsons truck who was swerving!! Wasn’t going too fast so I tried to pass and almost got hit because he suddenly came into my lane even though I had signaled when I changed lanes and didn’t speed up that much. Came to review and see other reviews for poor driving, them wasting peoples time and quoting high prices. 10 months ago someone else also said they almost got hit! (It’s in the reviews) Wilhelm automotive in havre de grace is always my choice! Please be safe on the road guys!
Facility is clean. Reasonable oil change prices. However, some professionals seem as if they do not know what they are talking about. After I was quoted 800 for some work on my car, I took it to Budget Auto for a second opinion in Havre De Grace and they said that was not the problem and quoted me 160. Now the problem is fixed. Very happy with Bob from Budget Auto!
The owner Jerry is stand up guy without a doubt. He didn’t guarantee anything but he did give it a try. Especially removing scratches off my 350z with a custom paint job. He had David give it a try and he buffed the scratches completely out & I cannot he happier!!! David even cleaned my car inside & out and put air in my tire because he noticed it was low. What a pleasant surprise. His receptionist Michelle & Lisa are very friendly as well as their tow truck drivers. I talked to everyone there and the wait felt like 10 minutes. They definitely took care of me! So thankful for them!
Great place. Had my inspection done quickly and well priced. The mechanics here are definitely seasoned and have been doing work for a long time, so they know what they are doing. Highly recommended and will be returning for future inspection work and any thing else I cannot handle on my own. Also, the front staff are very friendly.
Service is horrible the tow driver Paul didn't follow my towing instructions as to where leave my car. Then when contacted about his wrong doing he hung up the phone on me. I will never use their service again.
Contacted owner the next day, who was very understanding to the situation that occured. He advise me that he would speak to this employee.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I thought this place was credible because they are connected to AVIS car rental. I'm in the military and not from the area, wasn't sure if I should trust Thompson's or not. They serviced a Dodge Charger with front brakes, rotors and a new battery in May 2018, spent $589. In September 2018, I started having the same issue with my brakes. I called Thompson's, spoke with Stan and was told it must be the way that I drive. Additionally, they could only help me if I had the original receipt because they don't keep records. Today, I called to ask about the warranty for the AAA battery to be replaced in less than 6 months and was given the same response. I challenged the no receipt response and was told they would have to pay an Accountant to pull the original receipt and that would be a charge." No receipt No Service at THOMPSON'S" seems to be their business moto....can't believe this is acceptable in the state of Maryland. NO STARS!!!
The driver was EXTREMELY rude!! He was dispatched through AAA. When he got here, we were confirming the drop off place of my car, which AAA had already given him. He was stating that the over mileage was WAY more than what I know it was. We were BOTH looking at the map and I have two eyes, so I can see the mileage. He wanted to charge me a flat rate instead of the correct rate, over the 5 miles I was already given by my coverage with AAA. That's not ethical or honest. When I told him let me call AAA to verify, he got in his tow and pulled off. No conversation, no communication. Rude and dishonest. He needs to be addressed. I work hard and should not have to feel I'm trying to be taken advantage of for a few dollars, Highly upset,
These people are the WORST. I requested service through AAAA on November 6, 2017 for my vehicle to be towed from Aberdeen to Arlington, VA to the Mercedes Benz Dealership. And they sent this Horrible towing company. The guy came at 6:38am to hook up my car. I took pictures before he hooked it up. He was very mean, rude and in a rush. Around 930am on my way to work in a Uber, I received a call stating that my car was totaled. I immediately was appalled asking how. And I literally started crying. According to the Service Manager at the dealership, the guy who totaled my car, didn’t strap my car properly and the Strap broke, which caused my car to smash. I was sent pictures and the dealership said they couldn’t work on my car because my whole front end was smashed in. They stated the driver admitted his wrong and provided his company information. I called the company and they avoided me for the longest stating their owner Jerry Thompson was in meetings all day. I had to go up there after work just to find him. No remorse was shown and he was a complete liar and very arrogant. My car is paid off and they didn’t care. Stating his drivers never want to work or call out. Like that’s an excuse to total my car. Their Insurance company “Brethern Mutual” came to look at my car Thursday November 9th and considered it totaled it out to be $1170.00. Not considering the fact it was my only car and that’s not even enough for a down payment on a another car. So what my car had 305k miles and was in Fair condition with barely a scratch, it’s the fact, it was MY CAR. DO NOT trust this company with your Car. They’re the most Unprofessional, Lying people I’ve ever seen in my Life! And i will be putting this review on other sites along with pictures!!!!!! I’m so pissed!
Went here because my radiator was leaking repairs were straight forward, a bit pricey but acceptable. They were able to complete the repairs around 3 hours earlier than estimated so that was nice. Some cash that I had left in the car was missing so if you plan on getting service here, don't leave valuables in the car.
They were honest, the fuel pump went on my car Friday night two weeks ago, I called AAA and Thompsons was the provider in the area. They called me first thing Saturday to let me know what the problem was and the time frame and price right away. The staff was friendly and treated me fairly. I would recommend Thompsons to anyone for future services.
