False advertising. They regularly advertise free battery installation. Just purchased a battery for a Hyundai SUV and they refused to do it because it “takes too long” - they need to advertise more clearly.

Can I just saw the gentleman that helped me last night was amazing! I have just gotten off of work and was rushing to get to my little ones but remembered I need to replace my windshield wipers before the big snow. It was 7:30ish at night although they have a policy of not leaving the store after a certain time, the gentleman proceeded to walk me to my car and place the windshield wipers on for me realizing that I purchased two of the same most windshield wipers help me find the correct size that I needed and put the wipers on for me. I really appreciate it and you don’t know how stressed I had been between driving with bad wipers for two months and finally having the time and funds to purchase them really made my night and I appreciate you 1000%. I was able to drop my baby’s off safely and make it this work this morning, you my dear have blessings coming your way ! Thank you so much ! You don’t know how your kindness help me last night.

Tony is an angel! I called to see if I could get a new battery and install tonight, even though it was almoat 7pm. He was worried he wouldn't be able to due to loss of daylight and we hung up. He called me back 3 minutes later and asked me how quickly could I get there, since I didn't have anyone to help me at home and might get myself stranded the next day if the car wouldn't start. I tried my luck and it started for me to get over there. He helped me install the battery just before the sun set. I really appreciate how willing he was to go out of his way to help me as best as he could.

not helpful at all , called to see if they could put a part on my vehicle because i just got a battery installed at there other location by my house and the location by me that did the install did not have the part so i called this location and asked if they could put them on for me because the lady told me if i hit a pothole my battery will come unconnected, they told me yes they could , i drove all the way up here for them to tell me they couldn’t put them on because they need to be put on when they are replacing the battery which i just got my battery put in not even 30 minutes ago from the location from my house. i would not care and just go to my mechanic monday to get them installed if i was not told they could one be put on from whoever worked at this location and the location by my house as well told me they could put them on for me at another location. This is honestly upsetting when i just paid 220$ for a battery to be basically half installed because IT CAN COME OUT AT ANY TIME ! Update: I went back to the location that installed my battery with the shims i bought from the odenton location, by my surprise they did not have to take my battery all the way out like the odenton location told me they would have to do, all they had to do was put them right on top like i thought, honestly your employees just didn’t want to do it. They genuinely have terrible customer service skills and do not want to help people at all. Maybe train them on people skills, or don’t have them work at a job where they actually have to do things.

Tony was very helpful and kind when my hot mess of a car started acting up. He was able to check the battery and give me a quote for a new one. We also bought jumper cables and oil, while we were there. Quick service and friendly employees. We’ll be returning!

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW!!! I recently went into the Advanced Auto store in Odenton. I was in a sheer panic. I locked myself out of my car! The sales associate named Fong came to my rescue!! He was so nice, so knowledgeable, and so eager to help me solve my problem. I’m a middle aged lady so it wasn’t about my looks. He was just a very conscientious young man, looking to help any person with their automotive needs! Because of him, I posted this interaction with my 1,100 Facebook followers. He was such a gem of a human being!

I have been going to this store at Odenton Shopping Center since long. In between i went to few other but regretted. All staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. It would be unfair not to mention Tony who is supper. My best wishes to him and our lady boss for having such a great team.

Returned wheel locks on 10/08/24 and the white lady, short hair, mid-30s/40s (name maybe Camille) presumed two keys were missing from the package. This was the most bizarre person, I think I have ever encountered working in customer service. The packaging is sold with 4 lug nuts and 1 key (standard right), but because the packing had two empty unused key slots, she asked "What happened, you only needed two keys?" So my reply was...you are kidding right. Then she asked the very personable white older gentlemen with glasses (who spreckun ze dutche) if this was the way these are sold, as if I was lying. He was as dumbfounded. The worst of all is that she clearly did not care to wait on us, would not acknowledge me when I questioned her thinking and totally looked like we were bothering her, them, they. Manager, you may want to offer this employee customer service training or remove them from any customer interactions. By the way, I will be back and expect better service from the individual. The rating is based on my experience with Camille, her, they, them, and is not a reflection of any other experience at this store.

This morning 05/31/2024 at 9:45 am I went to get a battery for my car and asked if I had a tool to remove the battery and a white woman of about 40 or more told me that they do not supply that. service with a bad attitude they should take action with those attitudes because they lose money and customers with those people so I won't go back to that place again.

When I arrived I followed the instructions on my email which said to call the store when doing curbside pickup. So I called and informed Tony that I have arrived for the installation of my battery and my name. He began to act as if he didn’t know what I was talking about, then I repeated myself then he explained that he can’t just come and install my battery and that I had to fill out paperwork (w/ an attitude). I explained that I had no issue with that. When coming in I was greeted by a young man at the front then when approaching the pick up area, I see Holly whom looked at me twice while I was standing at the pick up counter but never acknowledged me or assisted me as no associate was attending the pick up counter. Then I tried to greet her but she ignored me then when I said hello a second time she looked at me and said “yea “. I then proceeded to ask if I could get some assistance (including my name and what I needed help with) she then proceed to move around then grabbed my battery and asked a gentleman in the back if that was my battery. When she finally came to the counter she still was very standoff-ish. She then asked for the year of my car, make, and model. She never asked if I wanted to return my core she just checked the no box, she never gave me the opportunity to explained to her that I did wanted to return my core. When I asked her she wouldn’t respond so I asked two more times before she yelled to her manager and asked about the return of the core, still never responding to me. She never wanted to hand anything to me in hand she only would slide items to me on the counter. When I asked for the fourth time about it she said that she’ll have the manager do it while I get the battery installed cause she has to make sure the guy can install the battery. I simply just said okay at this point. When I came back in for the refund, the man at the front was on his personal phone. When I finally arrived to the back Holly gave the receipt to the mechanic that installed my battery instead of handing it to me and then he proceeded to hand it to me. Also, during my installation the mechanic proceeded to have a conversation with the ups truck driver while he was blocking the road way. The driver proceeded to offer the mechanic some chips, the mechanic proceeded to get onto the truck and talk to the driver while I’m sitting in my car waiting for him to finish my service. This was by far the worst customer service experience I’ve had. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m an African American woman or if today was a bad to for these employees. I definitely won’t be returning.

Anytime I have been to this particular Advance Auto Parts in Odenton they’ve been super helpful. Today I seen this Mom doing her own thing. In the rain. She declined my assistance while she took care of her business in the chilly rain. It’s most likely she also declined the store’s help too which for Oil I would have done also. She did allow me to throw away her two containers of Oil so that was nice lol. She thanked me and said “God bless”. My day is complete! JVATALARO

Would give 0 stars if an option. Walked in today needing help with a dead battery. There were two employees and they weren't busy. He told me he couldn't leave the store but offered to give me the device to check the battery. Unfortunately I wouldn't know what to do with it. I left, and someone jumped my truck and got it started. I drove up front of the store and called to see if they had my battery. The guy was rude. So I left and drove to Auto Zone in Crofton who not only tested my battery and installed a new one. Shout out to Auto Zone. Advanced Auto could use some training on customer service.

I would give zero stars if it was an option. I just went there to get a battery for my key fob. The guy was helpful, but when he seen what car I have, he stated, that they have the battery but he can’t put the battery in because of what type of car it was and that’s the policy. That’s insane! I had never heard of such thing, they can take money from a person who drives a Mercedes Benz, but can’t help them put the battery in the key fob. SMH, totally a disgrace, I will never go back there. Anyway went down the street to Odenton hardware store and they changed it for me with no problem.

I've been to this location twice in the past month and both times the sales associates were so helpful and more importantly, kind. They didn't act annoyed or rushed when I asked a question and even came over to help me find the product I needed without me having to ask. I'll definitely be back.

The sales associate had a hard time researching an oil filter I needed for my tractor on the store computer. . I just wanted to verify the part number. He finally found it on his personal phone. 5STARS for associate and 1 star for the store computer system. And yes, they had it in stock.

I placed an online order today for my wife. She went to pick it up and the man, Sean D. who helped her was extremely rude for no reason and gave her a hard time. Her name was on the pickup and all she wanted was to pick up her oil and filter. There was an another girl standing there just on her phone. I don’t shop places to be disrespected.

The only worker that I could see was helping another customer. Eventually the customer, presumably walked him to his car, leaving me and the other customers waiting in line. There was no communication on when or if he would be coming back. Another customer stepped up to the register while he waited a few minutes for nobody to show up. Personally, I gave up on my purchase and left, determined to order what I needed from Amazon instead. I pray the man still isn't waiting at the desk for customer service. One worker can't handle all the work. Get cashiers that don't leave customers. I could have gotten everything that I needed without paying and all the workers wouldn't have even know I was even in the store.

Never had an issue coming here until today. I haven’t been treated with this much lack of concern or care in forever. I spent over a hour in this store simply trying to get a battery replaced. After I purchased the battery, the general manager Tony kept telling his employee to wait to install my battery and help other customers who arrived after me when there were 2-3 associates in the store helping. I waited and waited until a customer who saw the mistreatment, took it upon himself to try and install my battery himself. Then Tony comes out to help and tells me he can’t get the old battery out without even trying and tsars I need to go somewhere else and pay to get my battery replaced and bring the old one back to him. I got a refund and will never ever be back.

I know the manager, he is always keen on assisting customers, to the point of exceeding expectations and extending to do whatever to ensure that the customer is happy. But, on this visit, there was only 2 team members in the store, one was on the phone conversing about the inventory outages, the other was restocking. After about 3 minutes of me entering and waiting for assistance another customer entered the store. We made small talk, but went without acknowledgement or assurance for another 5 minutes. I finally had to inquire of the team member, restocking, if he could help us... HE SPECIFICALLY STARTED THAT RESTOCKING, WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAT ASSISTING US, but he did help. "I NEED TO GET THE TRUCK DONE!"... I was a bit confused of weather both were to have a primary assignment, and ignore customers or ignore the customers and only concern yourself with there secondary assignment?!!!? Either way teamwork and customer care was not at work!!!

My personal experience was with the manager, who quickly and courteously tested my battery and installed a new one. He was clearly very busy but still seemed to value my time. Looking at other reviews, I may have been lucky to interact with him instead of someone else.

The workers here are so helpful! They'll help you scan the codes for your check engine light, find a part in their huge database, or suggest things you need for an auto job and help verify you've got the correct part/fluid. I come here alli the time and the guys here are always ready to help like they are working on my project with me. They've even saved me from a few minor mistakes on my part that would've had me redoing the task I was up to! Great service. And prices are really good!

I went in to purchase a battery for my Kia. I was greeted by a very personable young man named John. John was the definition of great customer service. He tested the battery (which was a 3 year battery but lasted 8 years), took out the old battery, cleaned corrosion off of the bracket and put in the new battery. I could tell John enjoys his job and takes pride in what he does. I wish all my customer service experiences were so good.

I went to Advanced to get a new battery and have it installed. I just had surgery on my shoulder so I needed somewhere that would install it for free. When I stopped in the store, I was greeted within 15 second by a friendly guy (Nicolas) who was working on one of the aisles. I told him I needed a battery and to have it installed and he immediately went to work for me. He looked up my vehicle and the batteries that were in stock. We found the right one and he put it on the cart and installed it right away. The whole process took only 10 or 15 minutes and I was on my way. Great experience and I will be back any auto needs in the future.
