I brought my car in for a condenser replacement, which was ultimately fixed. I’m a bit upset, as they cracked my radiator removing the old condenser, and I was charged for it, which didn’t feel right to me at all. They had my car almost three days for this repair. The front desk worker, Mark, was pleasant.

This review is a mechanical issue that I had with my 1991 Ford F150. I took my vehicle to Quality Auto and the manager at the time (2021) told me the truck had a burnt value and the cost would be $1400. He said it would take a couple weeks to repair. Two months later I got my truck back and the cost went up to $1700. I asked about the burnt valve and the owner (Rick) stated their was no burnt valve and did not elaborated on the additional cost except for a charge to test the engine head for cracks. When I got the vehicle back from Quality Auto the initial problem was still present. The issue was the map sensor which I replaced. In the future I will look elsewhere for a honest mechanic.

Travel home from VA when my car broke down in the mountains. 30 miles from the nearest city and scared. If it wasn't for Mark and his team at the shop I'd still be in Cumberland MD. They found out my turbo went and my intake manifold. They wouldn't put me back on the road home till they had everything fixed and knew I'd be safe getting home. Treated me like a person listened to me didn't beat around the bush any of it. Great priced cause I would of paid triple back home and definitely would not of been treated kindly like they did here. Even picked me up from the hotel so I didn't have to walk a mile and a half to get my car. If you ever need work done and are in the area id definitely recommend these guys hands down. Thank you for all you guys did for me to make sure I got home safely.

I was traveling with my family on a long drive and had car issues. These guys fit us in and were able to diagnose the issue right away and get us back on the road in an hour! Can't thank them enough.

I began coming here in 2011 when working for a company that utilized Rick's shop. Slowly, I began to see just how rare Rick is: honest, articulate, and didactic (as a compliment, Rick is well versed in mechanics, so it comes naturally to him, and not the usual way we would use didactic) when speaking of what specifically is occurring within your vehicle. I began to bring my car in, and he has done all the work on it and I have never had issues or grievance with him or his amazingly patient staff (i am precocious by nature, so I talk a lot) of well-qualified mechanics. When a new company obtained the contract in 2016, I was then the regional manager, so I commenced conversations between Rick and our staff in Kansas. It was the easiest and most cost efficient decision I had made, a no-brainer if you will. Rick is still busy as ever. Honestly, it's worth the wait (if safe to do so) to get your vehicle in. No gouging, no pressure, no drama, it is the most honest shop I have known in my years on this planet. Thank you, Rick, and thank you to Mark, who takes my calls and occasional incessant questions. I owe a great debt of gratitude to Mark and the team at Quality Automotive. The alternator on our family minivan failed us mid drive on the highway and brought us to an immediate stop at this exit. The tow truck driver recommended the location and I had to take a chance to drop the car off after hours. It was a scary situation for the family and I was convinced I was going to be stranded in the area for days. I called Quality Automotive the next morning at 8am and they had me rolling out again by lunch time. The price was very reasonable too! Thanks Mark and team.

Mark at Quality was so helpful with helping with a diagnosis on our car issues on our way from PA to SO MD. A business that I will recommend to all based on my brief experience.

Dishonest. They failed my car claiming it had leaks. Took it to the dealership, and it had no leaks and it passed inspection. They tried ripping me off for money. Do yourself a favor and go to a honest place instead of this one.

Took my dad's vehicle in for a burn out headlight. I attempted it myself but in the freezing times I gave up. Quality Automotive took car of it same day with no appointment. The price was unbeatable. I'd definitely recommend this place!

The place seemed nice and clean, however I don't know what happened to my electrical system in my car. I charged the battery, but it's showing it's not fully charged. The floor dome lights are staying on, so I took out the bulbs. I will see if the new battery stays charged. I'm not blaming anyone, I'm just saying about my experience after taking it there.

I can't say enough good things about this place! I broke down on the road to Cumberland and asked the tow truck driver if there was a local place that would take a look at it. He took me to Quality Automotive. They took it in immediately. Originally we thought I just needed a couple of spark plugs, but then the situation got much more dire, and my car was basically toast. This is a 2016 Hyundai Tucson (don't buy one!!!) with 114K miles. Rick was as kind as he could be to a stressed out stranger. We discussed the fact that Hyundai knows that they have an issue with this particular engine, and he offered to get it to the dealer for me to see if they could get Hyundai to step up and help with repairs. I sat in the waiting room until a friend could pick me up. Rick got my car to the dealer and arranged the service appointment for me. He also did not charge me for the diagnostic or any work done that day. I can't tell you how much this meant to me, to simply run across a kind and honest businessman who obviously cares about customers, and people in general. I don't live locally, but if I did, this would be my go-to place. Thanks SO much to Quality Automotive!!!!

Had a relatively good experience with the gentlemen at quality. Had a car inspection performed and minor repairs that led to more intricate repairs but they were honest, placid, and did good work. Cars running great even if the bank account ran with it. Overall pricier but worth it for quality work.

Very impressed. The owner is friendly, caring, and very customer service oriented. He and his team worked fast to get my vehicle's electrical issue under control so I could could get back on the road. The vehicle was ready the next day, and the owner was very accommodating when I ran into an issue of my own. These are good people doing good work at a fair price. Can't ask for much more!

Visiting from out of town and broke down on a Sunday night in LaVale. On Monday, Lucky 13 towing verified it was not the battery and towed my car to Quality Automotive. Dan assured me they would take care of figuring it out. By Tuesday morning a new starter was installed. The price was very fair and the time it took was fast. Thanks so much for the service I received!

All these guys that work here are great including the owner Rick!! He will absolutely make sure ya get everything ya need without it costing you an arm & a leg & lil bit of blood lol!! They have worked on mine a few times & I have ZERO complaints!! They definitely know what they are doing when it comes to fixing vehicles!! I highly recommend them if you need something done!!?

At one point in time I would have Highly recommend this place. Rick is an excellent mechanic. However their business practices have me never recommending them ever again. I took my car to them and was given a quote for several things. Then received a call with it needing another item. I was told it would only cost about $200 more so I said to fix it. Whe. I got there to pick it up my bill was over $2000 the new part was 400 not 200 and half of what was to be done wasn't done. I asked if they would hold my check till Friday I was told yes. They didn't hold it. It caused other items to bounce. I took the car back because it was driving so bad. I was told I had to pay for it because they fixed it. I argued that the other items were not fixed and were part of the quote. They said I had to pay this bill before they would fix those items. So an exhaust and a converter is over 2000. No way. They can keep the car. I went and gave them the title. I should have gotten an Attorney! When I went to clean it out yesterday the battery (which was to have been replaced) was dead and front tire was flat. I'm totally disappointed in this place and will never go back to them or reccomend them. And from reading the reviews I see they did this to another lady too.

Was referred by a coworker and immediately called that Tuesday afternoon. They had a time slot for me the next morning. They called me with the details along with a few other minor issues that didn't need immediate attention. The car was done and fixed within 24 hours and Rick & Dan were awesome, professional and honest. Definitely will be my go to in future

Amazing experience on my recent out of town visit to Cumberland! Fast & expert diagnosis of my Steering & transmission issues. Fixed in reasonable time and probably half the cost I would have paid in the DC area. I drove back to Virginia, confident that the car was safe to travel back over the mountains! My air conditioning compressor started to go out as I was passing through Lavale. It is usually hard to get mechanics to work on a Mercedes.. but these guys got the part overnighted, help me with a rental car to finish my work and had me back on the road the next day... and at a very fair price. Great service.

The owner Rick is a friend along with being a professional and great at his job. The work done is top notch at a fair price. Rick and his people have always been thorough, helpful and friendly. Scheduling can be tricky but they will do what they can to fit you in the best they can, their service is worth the wait.

This is the best shop I've been to, ever! I broke down on the highway in the rain at night and had my car towed to Quality and I'm so glad I got recommended to this shop. Rick and company were extremely helpful, fast, and reassuring. I wish this clean and well-equipped shop was closer to my home. They only use quality replacement parts and the pricing was right on. You can't go wrong here. Thanks guys!

The other reviews are spot on, I wish this place was closer to DC :) My wife's car died - of old age :) - on I-68 and we had it towed here. Not only are they so skilled and honest that they probably diagnosed the culprit broken connecting rod within 10 minutes, but in case we wanted to fix the car, Rick even found a couple temptingly affordable replacement engines for us in the area! However, we decided to salvage/sell it, and he even helped us with that too! They didn't even charge us for the diagnosis! Wish we could come here for our regular maintenance, but we don't live in the area :|
