I got a flat tire at 9 pm 45 minutes from my destination after driving from Virginia. ABC got my vehicle towed to their service center while I got a ride to my hotel. In the morning they replaced my tire and drove my car to the college I was visiting. ABC made a frustrating situation much more manageable and I can't recommend them highly enough.

Damn these guys are fast! New truck ran out of gas. Yeah I'm that guy. They made it here within a half hour and got me back on the road. Thank you

Really excellent experience here. Steve helped me out when my truck died and it needed a new started. Cheaper towing prices than the competition, and he not only fixed the starter but found something else that was breaking and headed that off. All for less than I would have paid anywhere else. Truck works great, he's trustworthy, and I would definitely rely on him again.

Two stars for allowing me to tow my car there after it wouldn’t start, however everything after this was unfortunately not satisfactory. They “fixed” my car, but when I drove away and my car was doing things it hadn’t done before they said it was only a coincidence and had nothing to do with the work they did. I brought the car back and they looked at it again but were skeptical that this was new and stated again that it had nothing to do with what they had done. I took my car to another shop and they knew right away that the part that had been installed was faulty. I ended up paying twice for the same part and work (it was initially an aftermarket part that didn’t work). They either had no idea or didn’t want to consider that it could have been the work they did. Edit… victimhood?? yes. You installed a neutral safety switch. Which is exactly what was wrong. So I paid another shop to install ANOTHER one, and my car drives perfectly now. So instead of blaming the customer, perhaps look at your own work. You treated me very poorly, I tried to reach out over email to discuss but never received a reply. I guess publicly is the only way you will respond.

I recently just had my first experience at ABC & was incredibly pleased and grateful for all the kindness, communication, patience, & hard work that went into making sure my car was able to get back onto the road! Steve went the extra mile as a mechanic and they absolutely gained 5 stars from me and a new loyal customer! Thank you so much guys!!!

I was visiting Maine from Iowa when my Jeep broke down the night before I was supposed to head home. ABC responded quickly, got my vehicle towed, and offered to bring it back to their shop to take a look first thing the next morning. They jumped on it right away and were doing everything they could to get the axle fixed and get me back on the road that same day. Unfortunately, they discovered a blown transfer case, but they were completely transparent about the situation. They took the time to explain the issue and helped me talk through the best next steps. When I decided to trailer the Jeep home, they even assisted with getting it safely loaded. From start to finish, everyone I dealt with was professional, honest, and easy to work with. They turned a stressful situation into something manageable, and I really appreciated their communication and effort. I’d recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

100% for this shop While in my way upta camp on a Saturday we broke down on I-295 in Portland due to unknown mechanical. Contacted this shop and they called someone in off hours to diagnose my issue after I had it towed off highway. Couldn’t figure issue out at this time. Shop worker gave us a ride to airport to get a rental and we continue upta camp. Steve called and advised me of severe mice damage with chewed wires. Insurance was notified and claim started. Steve and his crew worked hard to isolate mice damage in fuse box under hood. Potentially needed wiring harness pretty extensive work needed to be done. We agreed it needed to go to a Toyota Dealer. They were able to get it over there where work was completed. The communication from Steve was phenomenal and much appreciated. They went above and beyond to help me out through this whole process.

Steve and his team will absolutely make any repair shop look bad even if they were good. We all look for that honest mechanic who’s going to do a quality job on your vehicle and at the same time giving you a honest price. Steve and team value their customers. I’m from central Maine & this shop reminds me of the one my family is loyal to back home. Local family owned, a little place tucked away, full of cars, and older men come around just to hang out & chat. The checklist I didn’t know I had 🤣 Bonus: Steve’s sweet dog!

I had a flat tire and needed a tow and replacements. Steve and the crew took two tires I already had and popped them on for me. Didn’t pressure me or upsell me once. Straightforward service with straightforward prices. He also told me about a couple issues to look out for going forward. Highly recommend edit: Yet again Steve and the crew saved me! My muffler was hanging on by a thread. They picked up my car, put a new one on, and I was back driving in 24 hours. Thanks again

First-time customer there I can't say enough good things about them! Had my fan / heat issue solved within 2 hours! And super reasonable rate! I took my buick to Steve's shop (ABC service) for a vehicle inspection. The service was incredibly fast and, more importantly, honest. Friendly, honest, affordable, reliable and fast! I’m fairly new to Portland and have been searching for a new mechanic. I’m grateful to have found ABC Service Center & Towing— Steve and his crew are wonderful! I came in for a safety inspection sticker and to have my breaks looked at. Steve and Bruce had me taken care of in less than 30 minutes. I’ll definitely be back for my regular car care and highly recommend them to anyone!

Just moved to Portland from Florida and needed my car inspected. They made the appointment quicker than anywhere else and screwed in the front license plate for me. Florida only requires a rear brake plate. Thank you for your great service. I will be back.

This shop is the best! They fixed my car's problems so I could get my sticker. Steve and Bruce rock! So very accommodating! Mechanics like them are a dying breed.

Finally a GOOD experience with a repair shop. Took care of my daughters car quickly and for a very fair price. My daughter said she will always use ABC for her car from now on.

Our was a badly needed RV oil change. These guys were incredibly accommodating. We told them when we were getting to town and they managed to fit us in their schedule and their yard! In and out under an hour. They had already bought our filter and good quality synthetic oil. Thank you ABC!

Nobody likes breaking down on the side of the road, but it certainly helps when you call for a tow and a friendly guy answers and offers not only to tow you for a reasonable price, but to fix your car the next day! My problem ended up being minor, but I am so grateful that Steve was able to take care of me and get me back up and running in time for my weekend plans!

THEY ARE THE BEST! I needed new brakes and a new inspection sticker within a week. Every other place was booking 3 weeks out. I called their shop and they got me in the SAME DAY. They were fast, extremely professional, and reasonably priced. I just moved up here from MA and I will be using them every time! Definitely try them out for all of your service needs!

Started this morning bawling my eyes out with car troubles. Needed a new battery. Tried calling triple A twice for help. They sucked, couldn’t help. Called my mom, she told me to call a tow company. Here I was thinking I was gonna pay an arm and a leg have my car towed a long ways but the second Steve answered, I knew I was in good hands. Not only did they come very quickly, they brought a brand new battery with them, and installed it right then and there. I WILL be going to them from here on out. Great service, great personalities. Real genuine people!!! Very thankful

Absolutely the best service I’ve had! On the way to Acadia National Park, my front right wheel bearing gave out, and I thought I was out of luck. Then I called ABC Service, and I was in and out faster than any other service center I’ve been to. It saved my trip!

THE BEST MECHANIC I'VE EVER BEEN TO!!! I was driving home on the night of April 8th 2024 after enjoying the eclipse with my dear friends, and had a breakdown going south on 95 in Westbrook, ME. I called my insurance company because I have roadside with them however they were unable to secure me a tow, and said I was on my own and they'd reimburse me. So my first call was to ABC, and after being quoted an hour, the tow guy was there in 15 minutes. I've driven flatbed before so I know what's going on, and this guy was a total pro all the way. He even went above and beyond the call of duty. His niece was riding along with him that night, and she found me a room at the Fireside Inn (the best, most comfortable, and affordable hotel I've ever stayed at) where they dropped me off after delivering my car to the shop. The next morning I walked to the shop where I met Steve the Bill Burr of Maine. I was instantly put at ease by his intelligent and trustworthy demeanor, and his guys did the best work you could ask for. My car has never run better! and the pricing was completely honest and fair. They did more right by me, and they will for you as well. I stand by my words on this. A good, as well as, honest mechanic is hard to find and these guys are complete gems. Do yourself a favor, and give yourself peace of mind by bringing you vehicle to them next time you need some work done.

Had my breaks done here this past week. Awesome service, great price and even better, was able to fit me In and have the car fixed within 24 hours. Will be back if needed. Super friendly and Highly recommend!

I brought my vehicles here for years until I got a new vehicle. When it came time for my son to get his first car, ABC was the place I told him to go when it came time for repairs. In August, my son's vehicle needed work... wear and tear work...breaks, oil change, AC wasn't working, and inspection sticker. I put a list inside the car of everything that I needed them to look at to ensure the car was safe. They never fixed the brakes. They never fixed the air conditioning.... They just filled it back up with freon when that wasn't the only issue wrong All they did do was put an inspect to sticker on the vehicle. A few weeks ago I get a notice from Nissan, the brand car my son drives, that there was a recall on my son's key fob. I schedule the recall to get fixed and during the recall process, it is standard policy for the dealership to do a head to toe inspection on my son's car. They send me a text message with picture of my son's brakes. completely gone. His rotors are cracked and shattered. His air conditioning was never fixed. I called ABC To ask them why these things were never taken care of when I took it to them last month. They were beyond rude to me and had no explanation. My family knows Dicky, and while he might not be working on cars anymore, I don't think he would be happy to know that his shop did this to us. We will never go back.
