I want to work here so I can be a happier, better person. These people are so nice!! Their website has very clear instructions for how to recycle things there, what they accept, etc. I interacted with three different employees when I went there, and they were above and beyond helpful. I get anxious when I try new things, but they all patiently explained what to do. They also accepted items that other places didn’t, such as fluorescent tubes and shingles.
Overpriced dump for dummies. Go to Westbrook instead trust me. The hours on their website isn’t even accurate. I tried to get rid of a refrigerator, rented a trailer, thinking that they were open on Saturday because it says it on their website. So basically, I wasted money. you’ll pay 2 to 3 times more than Westbrook or any other dump for that matter.
Every time I’ve been in the past few
months the price has gone up each time. $25 for about 2/3 of a truck bed.. insane!!! Employee told me they have raised prices 3 times in the past year.. take a look at the price list on their website and get ready to swipe your debit card dry. Crooks
Good place to bring recycling. Consistency in how brush is taken and payment received. Saturday 5/28 I brought a trailer load of brush which was weighed loaded going in and empty leaving. Cost $20.00. Today 6/4 with same size load cost $22.00 and no weighing needed. So where is the consistency Portland Riverside Recycling management? It's not the money.
PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOU CHARGED ME $50 DOLLARS TO DISPOSE OF A TWIN MATRESS AND BOX-SPRING? THEN YOU HAD ME THROW IN AWAY IN THE ANYTHING, MISCELANOUS PILE. YOU BURIED IT ANYWAY, NO SEPERATE PILE OR SECTION, PRETTY SAD YOU NEED TO RIP OFF MAINERS.
We've been looking everywhere for playground safe mulch. Drove 3 hours so that our granddaughter would be safe playing on her new playground. Thank you!
Pretty well organized transfer station with weigh station so you pay by weight to drop off your big trash. This was the cheapest way for me to get rid of an entire house worth of linoleum flooring and wall to wall carpeting! Convenient to most of the Portland area. They close kind of early (3:30 PM).
In spite of it being a hot (86 today) dirty job the employees are always pleasant and helpful. I wasn't aware they closed at 3:30 today. We pulled in at 3:29 just as they were getting ready to close the gate.
The attendant smiled and waived us in anyway. And I was pulling a trailer ?
We've been here countless times and everyone is always super nice from the check in staff to the landscaping material loaders. It's crazy how fast they move people through. You'll get here with a line 15 cars deep, and you'll be up at the checkpoint within 5 minutes. I've never had a bad experience. Nice work peeps!
Thank you. We came from Andover 2 hours away to throw our garbage, cause someone doesn’t work at Friday someone working only with residents… it’s unbelievable! We are so happy)))
Staff isn't super friendly. I'm not a contractor and it always seems like they are suspicious because of it. Your hands are kind of tied though if you need to get rid of some stuff in the Portland area.
First off I’m a contractor. I can’t stand places that don’t care about their customers. There’s 5” of mud covering the entire property you must walk through to dump stuff there. I nicely asked if they were planning to address the issue he said nope. Then I noticed a letter from mgmt that started “dear customers thanks for a great year we really appreciate you” followed up with “price increases” for customers. Their service and quality has gone down and prices go up. My company and many others are taking our business elsewhere.
Easy in easy out. Expensive, but it's a dump in the city, so you're paying for convenience too. Cheaper if you sort everything out and pay separately instead of paying for bulk waste.
If you want to be treated poorly, rudely, and not get receipts for paying cash, this is your place. Oh yeah, and they are way overpriced! Did I mention they are rude?
Unfriendly rude one guy was swearing and complaining about other workers. My tax dollars pay for the subsidies I have a card and I receive absolutely no benefit as a Portland resident. I get charge for everything have to pay for trash bags and pay some of if not the highest taxes in Maine.
Oxford Hills has better services - whoever cut this deal obviously had an inside angle and more likely than not profited while we're paying the price.

Unfriendly and rude. Possibly stealing money, the guy asked me for cash upfront no receipt. Then they’re rude and barely helpful. Bunch of entitled jackasses standing around.
