Bought car here found out was overpriced, had cosmetic paint issues that dealer knew about and did not point out to me, I found out after I looked at car closely after I purchased. They in fact sent email having a dent repair person try to repair, did not point that out or tell me. Called sales person, he said you looked at it I did not see all these issues at the time I drove it? When you buy a car they usually put gas in and clean exterior. Did not fill tank with gas or wax exterior, I spent 4 hours waxing the car this is when I noticed cosmetic issues. Did not even change cabin air filter which was full of leaves and debris. Would not buy another car here.

The sales manager I worked with was extremely nice and super willing to negotiate the price to a more reasonable level. He was extremely nice, the most polite , understanding, car salesman I’ve never worked with previously. No haggling with me over not bringing the price down, no hidden fees, and an amazing deal. if you’re looking for a slightly older used foreign, this is certainly the place to go. I got the car within a day. They are super fast, polite, and their cars are at a good fair market value even with the used car marked being so messed up. They were super understanding and I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get a used foreign. Overall review, absolutely amazing

These guys are the best and consistently have your best interest at heart. Hank and his team will not jerk you around. The entire team puts the customer first. If you're looking to buy a car, or have your car detailed, Hampden Auto sales should be at the top of your list.

I bought a 2015 Honda CR-V in February from Hampden Auto Center. It is low mileage, in great shape and was beautifully re-conditioned. Hank and Rob made the experience quick and easy. I would recommend Hampden Auto Center to anyone looking for a good pre-owned vehicle!

Horrendous Customer Service - I had an extremely disappointing experience while shopping at Hampden Auto Center. My sales person was either extremely unknowledgeable, or equally misleading regarding the features, trim level and overall value of the vehicle I was considering. After conflicting feedback from the auto center and my bank, I had to perform my own research on the VIN number, the vehicle’s optional trim levels and its features in order to learn and explain the differences and resulting discrepancy in value of what the vehicle actually was and what they claimed it to be. Under any other circumstance I wouldn’t have minded a little research on such a large purchase, but when met with my sales person’s obstinance to acknowledge the facts, the experience was far from enjoyable. In addition to his misinformation, the sales person’s lack of preparedness and initiative resulted in prolonging an interaction that should have only lasted an evening to the course of three. This meant wasting time taken from work and my personal life. Our interaction was finally ended when our sales person neglected to follow up with me as promised, neglecting to leave as little as a voicemail to keep me informed. I light of the $2000 overstatement of NADA value in the vehicle, I had asked for a reconsideration of our previously agreed price. Upon returning to the lot to ask for an update and a reason why I wasn’t contacted, I was told they were unwilling to negotiate the price, that they would be holding onto the vehicle to try to get their asking price and that I wasn’t contacted because their phone calls would only go straight to my voice mailbox. It certainly doesn’t take much effort to leave a voicemail, and is unnecessary to dismiss a friendly, willing customer from a sale for no good reason. Hampden Auto Center is run and operated by misleading, unknowledgeable and disrespectful people. They will certainly never have my business, and I will urge everyone I know to avoid them at all costs.

Been trying to buy a car.. I keep getting the run around.. the owner told me the car would be ready by 8:15am I drove an hour to find out they didn’t even get the car out of the snow bank. I understand about the storms in Maine I’ve lived here all my life. However if you promise a customer that their car will be ready, knowing they are coming from a distance, and not so much as a call to tell the customer that the car is buried out back. Come on. When I got there and said I was here to pick up the car. The owner laughed at me and said “ Hope you can wait till noon, because it’s buried in 20 feet of snow” I took a walk to look for the car thinking he must be mistaken, because he had told me to be there at 8:15am and that they opened at 8:00am. I told him that I’ll be there early because I have to work later in the day. Well, I didn’t see the car. I went up to the owner again and asked where it was. He said, “ Buried in the snow.” I told him, “ It was supposed to be ready this morning.” He said, “ Well I guess we won’t do the deal then.” He shrugged his shoulders and walked off! I have never been treated so horribly by anyone in my life! DON’T BOTHER BUYING FROM THIS MAN UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING TREATED LIKE YOUR INSIGNIFICANT!!!!!!

If zero stars was an option, that's what they'd get. Great service, and they're personable. Almost feel like you're getting a good deal.. second truck I got from them in one week of buying the first one, I have to replace the motor... $5600 later... they wouldn't replace or repair the issue even if it was within one week of owning the truck. They said "our warranty covers 50% of the cost"... well I guess you don't care about your reputation seeing how your reviews are terrible.. you've lost ALL my business and anyone who looks at our reviews.. for

Never, I repeat NEVER buy a vehicle from here, if I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely horrible experience, terrible ownership, and incompetent mechanics. They either don't know how to fix cars, or they simply don't care if they sell their customers deficient cars. Thankfully we bought a warranty through our bank, but I am so disappointed in this local business. Stereotypical used car dealership, with no motive but greed. The first truck my husband bought had so many things that shouldn't have even passed inspection, that the dealer took the truck back and offered us a different one. We were happy about this, and thought they were reasonable and it restored some of our trust in them. A few days later into owning the second truck, the motor became loud and the check engine light came on. We took it to a mechanic, who informed us that several sensors were bad and that codes had simply been cleared (most likely in order to cover up a problem so that we'd buy it). To top that off, the shocks are barely any good, the undercoating had been put on without mud being washed off so it's all splotchy and ineffective. The list goes on. When we brought up the problems to the owner and the dealership in general, they refused to do ANYTHING without us paying for it, and the owners reason was "well, it is a used car." Oh, and as a little pet peeve that we didn't bother discussing with them, both trucks weren't detailed AT ALL and were disgusting. Great job Hampden auto, hope you're proud.

Great selection of foreign vehicles. Staff are super nice and easy to deal with. They also service all vehicles sold at Hampden Auto Center right there at Rawcliff's Service Center.

I would not recommend Hampden Auto Center to anybody looking to buy a car. Last year for my birthday my parents bought me a 2004 Audi A4 from Hampden Auto Center for approximately $7,000 (April 24th, 2015). This car began to fall apart and have serious problems quickly. The car began leaking oil and coolant everywhere it went. It soon began to shake when I was driving it, and excessively when it was idling. As a seventeen year old I was afraid to drive it. Was it going to stall out? Was I going to get stuck in the middle of nowhere? We brought the car back to Hampden Auto Center and asked them what was going on? We just bought this car. Yes it was used, but when we bought it they claimed it was in excellent condition. Within a few days they called and claimed the car was ready. My mom and I went in to pick it up and it was not fixed. The car still shook like crazy, and there was still both oil and coolant stains being left wherever the car was parked. Then it began to stall out when it was idling. My dad called and asked them why this was going on because we just bought the car and just brought it in to be fixed. They told him that the car was “perfect for me” and they would not fix the car for any less than $3800. In September I was making a left hand turn across on-coming traffic, the car would not move. I was stuck with cars coming at me. I was terrified, the car would to move. I pressed the pedal to the floor and it finally got enough power to get me to the parking lot. I called my mom, she came to switch out cars because it was clearly not safe for me to be driving. We took the car in to be fixed by another company because we no longer trusted Hampden Auto Center. $2500 later the stalling, shaking, and both the oil and coolant leaks have stopped. Or at least the leaking stopped going onto the ground. The oil was however still excessively being leaked through the exhaust due to the turbo. This creates a bright blueish-white smoke. We are now told that we have to replace the turbo. The cost for such a project is roughly between $3,500-$7,500 depending on if we buy used or new parts. One of my worst experiences with this was on the way home from a school function. I told my mom who was also attending what was happening and she told me to keep an eye on it on my way home. As I was leaving my “minimum oil light” came on. Which I had never had. I called my mom who was ahead of me on her way home and she told me to pull over and check the oil because if it ran out it could seize the motor. I pulled over the first chance I got and checked my oil. The dipstick was bone dry. I never got a warning light. Just the minimum light. The car continues to go through oil left and right.
