I worked there when the original owner John Knickrehm owned it, I was one of the original John’s Towing Drivers! That’s why they call me the Towing icon because I’m the icon that can still tow! Todd has taken over a great company and does his very best to keep customers happy! I grew up in the neighborhood and started working there at an early age John helped me get a chauffeur’s license now cdl that I still have. If I was still living in Iowa I’d probably be still working there! I moved to Ohio shortly after John’s passing but I still try to stop by every time I’m back in the Quad cities! Great Company and great people!
After agreeing to pick up my car on Thursday, this company gave me the run around until Monday. They wouldn't answer the phone, or say they'd have to call be back then don't, they even hung up on me! Why not just say no instead or being rude and jerking me around for 5 days? I finally had to take a hint and call another company. Do your self a favor and just call someone else to start.
If I could give 0 stars I would. When I say the worst customer service I ever experience. Be careful they will change the price on you once they get your car on the bed of there truck and if you refuse to pay there upcharge they will take your car to the pound. Bad business. Horrible customer service.

Scheduled a tow with John's Towing at 7:30 a.m. for 4 p.m.. I was moving out of my storage shed on the last day of the month and I scheduled the tow for 4:00 and the storage place closed at 5:00 p.m. . I let John's Towing know that they close at 5:00 p.m. and they did not call me until 5:15 to tell me that they were available. The storage place was closed by then and I ended up having to pay another day of storage and called Fred's towing who showed up on time and got the job done on time.
Pleased, car popped a ball joint. I got stuck in a not so well lit area. They got to me quickly after hours and the price was reasonable. They towed it to the ditmers and had it fixed that day. So, i cant complain, thank you
They towed my car away but in the process, burst a hydraulic hose. I called them up and they scheduled a professional power washer to come out and do the whole driveway on their dime! Thanks! Although, my one bit of criticism is that the lady at the front desk was not nice at all
Driver was courteous and on time and made the experience a little less frustrating 🙉. And the pricing wasn't bad compared to other places I had called. Thanks John's towing. I do recommend them.
Zaraaa and her crew did great taking care of my needs. Her crew was very helpful. Especially being out of town. Prices very reasonable on a cold morning.
The competition just quoted me at 65$ and they use fancy new trucks and equipment to move my vehicle with.
Kendall towing was a no brainer.

My car ended up getting towed & I was upset. soon as I located it my anger changed, they owners were very friendly people but also humorous. I laughed the whole time I was there and enjoyed the small talk with them I ended up finding out about other services they provide and took a business card with me! They actually turned my day around and I got my car back very quickly. Now I will be returning back for other services with someone fixing on my car & I’ve been looking for a mechanic for awhile guess it was a blessing in disguise!
Terrible business people. Would not go there. My brother had a starter put on his vehicle there which it did not need it was something to do with the key security system. So three days later it broke down again they charged him to take it back to their shop and then send him on his merry way said sorry about your luck.
I have never used this service so I don’t know how good they are but I know it’s bad for everybody else. On my way home a driver parked his truck horizontally across my neighborhood street. This blocked all paths of travel to my house. When I asked the driver to please move because there was a line of three cars behind me, he told me that he will not move.
Called for a tow at 8:48am said 45 minutes, called back at 10:07 they said another 45 minutes, called at 11:06 they said another 35 minute. I never received a call letting me know they'd be late I had to keep calling. Very unprofessional sudjest calling another place if you can unless you want to waste your entire day waiting.
So this company comes over to pick up a junk car across the street from me. Their junk tow truck pulls in our driveway without any permission. The truck leaks oil all over our driveway(which was spot free). We called this business four times and left a msg to the owner. We have had no response and know it seems as they have blocked my number. So this shows that he could care less about others property. Is this who you want to do business with? Another redneck towing company. Thx for being responsible for your actions.
Great service - driver was friendly and efficient, and the dispatcher was happy to work with us, as we needed the vehicle picked up from a tight parking lot and delivered to our house. Put the truck right in the garage for us! Would definitely recommend!
My vehicle was stuck in a snow bank. I left it and when I came back to meet the towing company we discovered that my car had been hit while I was gone. Your employee stayed with me while i called the police, was very patient and curtious and over an hour later was finally able to move the car and take it to a dealer. Thank you Bobby.
Excellent customer service. Arrived when they said they would, clean flatbed, and the driver (John) was friendly, quick on the job and very careful when loading my old truck for transport.
Top Notch......recommend them to anyone!
These people are so evil. In a time that it takes you a week of full time working for Walmart or other retail stores to make $500; these guys rip you off by towing your car that you mistakenly parked somewhere inappropriate. Then they demand $260 to give your car back after half an hour of waiting. I had to go to an ATM at the middle if the night and borrow money to pay to these greedy heartless species.
I am new to Iowa and my family wanted to take the children to Mississippi Valley Fairground on Friday, I dropped them off there on Friday afternoon and went to work. When I have finished work around 10:30 pm, I went to pick them up and mistakenly parked my car in a parking that had no sign at all, except a few Orange cones and people were still using the stores parking lots because it was late at night and all those stores were close. I went to find my family; it took me an hour to find them and let them eat dinner, when I returned I have seen a cop cleaning the parking lot and telling me that John's Towing took my car; when I call them to get my car back, they ask for $260 and tells me it's a private parking and they can ask for whatever they want, there is no limit in the state of Iowa on how much they can demand and how quickly they can tow your car. If I had the money to go to court and fight these evil people I would! I want the owner of that company to know that feeding his family with such huge fraudulent amounts of money based on mistakes of people wouldn't get them too far in life. I leave this to Karma!
I bought a car from a craigslist ad they posted. Went there, it's a nice small business, very nice people. They weren't busy and the owner easily answered all our questions about the car and what he'd done to it. For $1500, the car had some issues still, but I've since fixed them and the car is great! They were wonderful and didn't scam me or rip me off like some other place might. Can't thank them enough.
Johns towing is awesome!!! Kevin was our man! Thank you so so so much! We have been waiting for a locksmith since 3pm and they never showed up. I called Johns towing and he was there in 13 minutes!! I will definitely be mentioning their name to everyone I know! Thanks so much again!
