Jeff Carman leaves the best voicemails. Always had the details I needed, so I never had to call back. It made my life a lot easier not worrying about my car, repair timelines, or trying to find time away from work to call back. Thank you, Jeff and Lithia!

Body shop had my car for almost two months. Never called me to tell me my car was finished. When I picked it up… car wasn’t washed. Car was dead and I had to jump it. Plus there was NEW Damage done while in their care. They didn’t tell me about it or fix it. When I brought it to their attention he said they’d have to call me later.
I had an excellent experience working with this shop. I wanted to “freshen-up” my 2011 Toyota Tundra by replacing a number of moldings. They were originally black and had become light gray over the years. Chad researched, found, and ordered window moldings, roof moldings, and cowl. Once all the parts had arrived, the technician Sergio had me in & out in one afternoon with everything installed. In addition, Abby at the front desk kept me well informed on the parts as they arrived (being so old, the parts came in from several areas of the country). Obviously this was not a big project, but the Lithia staff was very accommodating.
These people, especially Jeff Carman, took the best care of me and my 911 when I had a little parking lot incident. Paint is perfect, and they got me in quickly!
Our insurance company sent us here as one of their "preferred shops" in the area. We had an estimate done for some pretty straight forward front end damage (Bumper, grill, and some headlight assembly). After accepting the estimate, we were told the soonest they could start work was 3 weeks out.
So after waiting 3 weeks, we drop off the vehicle and are told it should be a couple weeks but they never know until they strip everything down, etc.
It took the shop 6 weeks to complete the work...6 WEEKS.
During this time there was virtually no communication coming from the shop on what was happening. I had to call every week and every week I was told it would be ready the next week, only to wait and hear nothing, and call back. If the shop's story is to be believed, the wrong parts kept being ordered over and over (3-4 times according to the representative - that's got to be some sort of record!). I never got the sense anything was being done to fix these mistakes or make anything right.
The kicker: we get our vehicle back and there's a quarter sized chip on the hood that wasn't there before. I was pretty shocked they would return a vehicle to a customer with NEW damage.
After reaching out to the shop, I was told the chip was an issue they were aware of but apparently never thought to call and inform the owner of the vehicle. They told me this is a recall issue and took no responsibility for the damage occurring while in their possession. They said they could do a minor touchup but wouldn't guarantee the work. I told them not to bother and am reaching out to our dealership.
It's always surprising when such large outfits can resign themselves to this poor of a level of customer service (and actual service). I would not trust this place to properly inflate my tires - don't leave your vehicle with them.
I was so upset and infuriated when my 2022 X5 (which I have taken METICULOUS care of since buying it new) was vandalized and, control freak that I am, I dreaded having to leave it at the body shop for repairs.
I needn't have worried, Lithia did a great job on the repairs, they delivered my vehicle back to me on time, on budget, and even cleaner than when I dropped it off.
I wouldn’t recommend waited 3 months for my appointment took it in they will never call you to give u any updates ,they had my car for 3 weeks my car was supposed to be done a week ago I had to call them to check if it’s done or not was supposed to get a call yesterday didn’t I’ll check up on it today. P.S they had 4 months to order parts which they still didn’t get a badge THEY JUST DONT LISTEN
These people are amazing. I genuinely feel like they care about their customers and Jeff was very accommodating getting my vehicle taken care of and working around my screwed up schedule. Not only did they do a great job with the body work, they even went a step further and had my car cleaned inside and out for when I picked it up. I would highly recommend Lithia Body & Paint of Des Moines and will most certainly be taking my vehicle back in the future for any further body work.
Asked for a estimate over 2 weeks ago. I've called in over 4 times since then to ask them for the estimate to be emailed to me and still no response. Obviously if they can't even get me a estimate... they can't do their job on such a simple task. I wouldn't recommend going here. Go down the road to Charles Ford or the BMW body shop. At least they won't waste your time.
They did a good job on the car repair! It was done in a timely manner. The communication was a little bit of an issue, I pretty much had to call every single time to get any updates or information, even when they said that they will call me with the update. Not a big deal but still a definite area of improvement. Especially when every time I would get the "I was about to call you...."
My wife was so very pleased with how her MDX looked after the micro hail damage was repaired. Second bit of body work done by Lithia and couldn't be happier with the work.
I took my car in June 14th and just now got it back july 11th. They told me it would take two weeks but actually took 4. I never got updates, I called and asked when it will be ready and they would say this Friday, and then when Friday comes it isn’t done. Again, they said Wednesday Thursday it would be done and it wasn’t. We never got a single phone call that there was a delay in the time it would be done. That’s not even the worst part, I just got it back today and about 2 miles later, I get a tire pressure sensor turned on. I park the car and find a NAIL in it. Before I dropped the car off I had 35 psi and brand new tires. After, I had 29 psi in the tire with the nail. Just completely shocked at how a body shop can do this. Disappointed, dissatisfied all of the above negatives. Very unprofessional of them to take 2 weeks more then expected without a call notifying me. Good luck if you bring your car here. Thanks..
Well, at first we experienced the same, took closer to 4 weeks than 2, but they had to order a part. My husbands sunglasses went missing. The paint didn’t match the hood, but when we did get a call back from the manager he showed us the car fax, the work they had done and how our hood had been painted previously and they were matching the doors to each other and the rest of the car. I am now satisfied with the work. Still sad about the glasses though.
On may 27th, I took my car there to be fixed. Now it is November, and I am just now receiving a call stating that I did not pay for my services. If it was true that I did not pay, why did you hand me the keys to my car? But instead did not confirm with me of the problem then and there? You waited 6 months to contact me later and say I did not pay for it! It took six months for you to address the problem with me? Why did you not call me right away if there was an issue with the payment, but instead, waited half a year then call me about payments later? I'm giving this place a horrible bad review because this is not the way you're suppose to run a business! I am outraged you handled my situation in the manner that you did! iIf you are considering their services, please do not go to this place! They have bad customer service and communication!
I recently had my vehicle repaired in Feb 2021 after being rear ended in a car accident. After they replaced my rear sensors and bumper I have not been able to get ahold of anyone at the repair shop or through their Lithia Cares website ( I guess they dont care? ) to inquire about some other electric parts no longer working after their service that were working before I took my vehicle in.
Stopped in to get an estimate in a couple of minor repairs, not only was the price very fair but, the repairs were done that day.
Great staff and quality work.
My whole experience with Lithia left a bad taste in my mouth! Starting with the body shop you ask a simple question and NO-ONE will give you a simple answer. This is very unorganized. I would not recommend this body shop or dealership to anyone. They need investigated for underlying issues!
Brought my car after incident when a tree fell down on my car during a storm last year. It was a heavy damage of the front and side of my car. They returned the car in a condition better than new. Amazing quality! I can't see any sign of damage. Perfect work! Yes, it was expensive, three times more than origin insurance estimate but it was covered by my insurance company anyway. Overall I am very satisfied with the quality and service.
Lithia had my car for 18 days to replace the bumper and the wheel, which was 10 days longer than the original estimate. They never kept me informed on the delays or the lack of progress, and every time I called to check, the stories conflicted and it seemed like they were just starting work. The work also came in at 20% over the quote. When I finally received my car back, the ride was very bumpy and there was a loud thumping noise every time I hit a seam in the concrete. I called Lithia and left a voicemail and they never called me back. I had to take it into my mechanic, and they diagnosed the problem as a blown out strut and a bad wheel bearing. They said checking the wheel bearing should have been a “no brainer” when fixing the wheel, and that I had been driving my kids around on a dangerous issue. Lithia not only missed it, they never even called me about the voicemail I had left them.
I was able to get insurance approved, estimate and schedule made within 12 hours of my first call here. The job somewhat minor repairs and paint and was estimated to take 3-4 days but was done in a day and a half. My insurance didn't cover a rental, but was able to get a loaner. The work that was done is flawless and the customer service is top notch. I'd give 10 stars if I could! Highly recommend Lithia Body and Paint!
Quality of repair was great. Price was less than great. Customer Service was poor. Unless the repair is covered under insurance, you would be better suited to seek another repair shop.
8000 is a solid price for a full paint job. Lots of work goes into prepping a vehicle for a full paint job. I'm a usaa estimator for a large collision center and it can cost between 6000 to 8000. Removal of all trim and Windows prepping of surface blocking and sanding to ensure a smooth surface for a smooth paint job
