I have went to this shop for many years and always had good service with everyone there. I have had towing, oil changes ,work on vehicles and never had a problem
I always have a great experience at ultimate automotive, but this time they went above and beyond and got me my car back in less than 24 hours when I was expecting to have to leave it for a few days. Also, it was a better price than I was expecting, and we all know that car expenses are never a happy feeling, but they definitely help to keep the sticker shock from being overwhelming while also taking really good care of me and my family.
Ultimate Automotive always goes the extra mile in their service. This last time we were there, they checked our brakes for a very reasonable price after a minor car accident, and it was on a short notice. Really appreciate their professionalism!

Been going here for well over 15 years and everytime with excellent services and prices. They always know how to make me feel like family and knowledgeable about cars. Mostly because they like working on my favorite vehicle to keep her running well for us. I am proud of this company and wont go anywhere else for services. :)
Just had alignment service there for the first time ever. Initially working with Nick was wonderful, very knowledgeable and courteous (he's probably the manager there, not sure). Chase did my repairs and test drove the car with me before and after repair. The alignment was off, and it got corrected beautifully. I am very picky with how the car tracks, so they really did a great job! Also got provided the before and after specs of the alignment at checkout. I have to say, this is one of the best automotive shops in Des Moines (no kidding!). I would say they are even better than my Honda dealership with customer service. Its pretty safe to say that I will be coming back to this location (right off Merle hay road, near I80) for any repairs in the future. Thanks Nick and Chase!
I needed an alternator replacement while out of town and was glad to find a shop that was open on a Saturday with good reviews. Their service started with towing my van to their shop at a very reasonable rate. They were communicative and efficient during this process. From there it was the quote, approval, and the work. This also went smoothly.
My only gripe is the cost. I owed $1200 and change when everything was added up. If this had taken place at the shop near me (very similar size metropolitan area) it would have been $800-$900.
Fantastic service! Everyone is so friendly and the work is always done in a timely manner. They also take the time to explain the issue without using overly-technical words so that the layman can follow along.
Great shop that got me all fixed up the same day I brought it in since I was passing through town and was having vehicle issues. If they were closer to me I’d go to them every time I had a problem! They even fed me some good barbecue while I waited😂
Have a windshield wiper issue that we could not resolve ourselves . Ultimate automotive straightened up the issue Efficiently, professionally, and honestly. I have been searching for an automotive repair shop like this for decades, and I am so glad we found them.
Dennis was great! Didn’t treat me like other shops do when they see a woman. Didn’t try to upsell me or make up problems, just gave me a quote for what I knew was wrong and couldn’t repair myself. The repair was done timely and end cost was within the given quote. I will definitely use them again in the future!
My oil light came on occasionally on long trips when oil wasn’t low. Dennis P knew a lot about this issue with Subaru Foresters and helped me know how to manage it in the future. He was very helpful!
I took my car to Ultimate Automotive when I worked in Des Moines many years ago. When my car broke down in Des Moines recently and needed a tow I immediately called the same place that took very good care of my previous vehicle. Their expertise and helpful service has not changed over the years. This is a place of high standards and they will have my loyalty when it is needed.
I had some vehicle problems right as I pulled into town after an 8 hour drive. This place was incredible to work with! They got me in immediately, diagnosed & fixed my vehicle with no stress. I’m only in town for 2 days so I’m very thankful I found them. I definitely recommend them!!
I had a wonderful experience with ultimate Automotive They were fast and efficient. They got they picked up my Jeep and had it done within the same day in my Jeep runs and drives a lot better thank you very much for being there being service.
We were getting ready to leave on vacation with our horse trailer camper, and discovered a leaking and bad tire pressure sensor.
Ultimate Auto got our truck in within an hour of closing, and took extra time to make sure the new sensor was paired to our truck.

They are not a shop that will just price gouge you. If they can save you money they will. Which is rare. They worked on my exhaust. Instead of having to replace it they were able to salvage and repair my existing exhaust. It was a nice surprise showing up to get my car and my bill was $300 less.
Honest people. Cared for me as a valuable customer. Used their services only twice so far and will definitely return when needed. They did only services actually needed without trying to add "fluff" work that was not needed (as I have had other places try). Honest business. Fair pricing.
I used to trust this place. They horribly missed the reason my sunroof stopped working. They quoted me a rediculous price of$2500 to fix it. I declined. Later on, a thunderstorm resulted in water damage inside my vehicle, damaging the electrical The water got in through the sunroof. It took a simple 15 minute, free of charge, diagnosis somewhere else that it was in fact a sunroof leakage issue. Ultimate automotive either missed it, or never did a real inspection. I now have a "insurance totaled" vehicle that I was forced to sign over!!!!….. And i loved that vehicle!

Their prices were shockingly affordable compared to other oil changes I have had in the past. I will be returning!
They didn't try to upsell me on crap I didn't need. I asked them to check my tires if they needed rotated and they said it was not needed but at the next oil change to do it. I appreciate the honesty & integrity I received as a consumer.
Our car broke down late at night in the middle of our roadtrip. This place was close to closing but they rushed us in to get a diagnosis on our car. They found an inexpensive hotel for us and our 3 little girls and got a new radiator in our car so that we were able to be back on the road by 10 am the next morning (which was a Saturday by the way.) This was a great place that saved us in a very stressful unexpected situation!
Excellent workmanship and great customer service. I was out of town for my daughter’s softball and had limited time to get back to her for lunch. They located parts at a dealership and lent me a car so I could get back to my daughter and pick her up water and lunch before she was done. And when I got back the truck was ready at a reasonable price. Thank you for going out of your way to help an out of towner who you knew was probably never going to be back again. I think that speaks volumes to your character and the type of business you have. Thank you
After years of using ultimate Automotive I can continue to say I am satisfied with professionalism that shows in the worksmanship with each job. the work price the expediency all around General good nature of the business is a true asset that you as their client will find valuable.
Mark runs a great shop with an experienced staff who truly excel in customer service. They’ve worked on both of our vehicles, saving us thousands compared to dealership prices. Whether dropping off or even towing in (as we’ve had to do once), the communication from Dennis has always been outstanding. Big shout out to Mark and Murphy as well — what a great crew!

Unfortunately our car didn’t make it home from a car show but a 2:00pm Saturday afternoon tow call to Ultimate had us back on our way home. They were prompt & professional!! Picked up our car parked it in their shop as we asked and said they’ll be able to get to it this week!!

When I called about an issue and if they could assist, they were very transparent about their timeline which I appreciated. I worked mostly with Nick who was excellent at communicating the progress and next steps. They towed the vehicle the next day and their pricing was very reasonable. I will definitely bring any additional repairs and maintenance back to them. They were a recommendation from a family member who has a lot more car knowledge than I do.

Highly recommend!! My family and I were returning to Colorado after a two week vacation in the Midwest and the U joints and drive train blew out on our 1980 camper van. Dennis, Mark and this team graciously helped us get back on the road with excellent customer service and very fair pricing. They could have taken advantage of our situation and they didn’t. They went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and taken care of. From a traveling dad left on the side of the road, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS OPERATION!!!!
