My family and I have now purchased seven (7) vehicles from Royal on the EastSide. Every time their staff have listened to what our needs were, understood what our budget/situation allowed and then showed us what vehicles matched our request. The cars are cars, their staff just go the extra mile every time. We are so grateful for all they do, we no longer live close to Bloomington, however we drive there to ensure we get a vehicle by someone we know we can trust. I am so grateful for this dealership, we have been to other dealerships, the team at Royal operate differently than a normal dealership. I am sure it is partly to do with their leadership, no matter, we're absolutely going back when we have to look for a replacement car. Thank you to all the team for all your help over the years. I am grateful for the honesty and integrity you foster and expect from your staff.

The service center here is second to none. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. They don't try to up sell you and do great work. Never been happier to have my car repaired. A great management team lead by the best.

I called over a week ago left 2 messages for the service dept to call me back. Its still not been returned. Its ok because Tom Wood Subaru Indy is taking care of it. We will never do business with Royal again. This isnt the first time we've had issues getting service to return our calls

★☆☆☆☆ – Misleading Trade-In Experience and Questionable Ethics We brought our vehicle to this dealership for a trade-in, and they pulled up a CarFax report showing structural damage. Based on that, they told us the car was only worth $500. It felt like we didn’t have much choice, so we accepted the offer. Not long after, we saw the exact same vehicle on their lot and listed on their website for $6,000—with no mention of any structural damage. So they either exaggerated the issue to give us a lowball offer, or they’re now trying to sell a car with known structural damage without disclosing it to potential buyers. Either scenario is shady. It’s dishonest, manipulative, and completely erodes trust. If this is how they handle trade-ins, I’d be very wary of doing any kind of business with them.

DO NOT GO HERE! Sold me a car with an open recall with no remedy without disclosing the safety hazard that could occur. It was a 2023 BMW X1. In less than six months of purchase all four rotors and brake pads need to be replaced with average driving occuring during this time. When I called to get help about these issues I was informed that it was my fault for not doing my due deligence and trusting that they would sell a good car for over $30,000. Please go anywhere else and save yourself the headache and insults that this place will provide.

2021 Audi Q7 still under factory warranty with Audi pre-sense and emergency SOS unavailable dash lights. Royal Audi service had it for 5 weeks and declared it fixed. Went to pick it up and none of the cameras worked so they kept it. Another 5 weeks pass by and it is again declared fixed after the Audi field engineer helped to diagnose and try to fix it. . Had it two days when Audi pre-sense and emergency SOS unavailable reappear on the dash. Called to bring it back for further repairs and was told that they were no longer part of the Audi loaner program - interesting because my loaner for the last 10 weeks was a Subaru Forester. Ended up trading it for a Lexus just to be done with the poor service and apparent inability to get a loaner for an Audi still under warranty with safety system faults.

We just purchased an Atlas Cross Sport in the specific config we wanted from Royal on the East Side without ever setting foot in the dealership, and the experience couldn’t have been better. (We’re from Chicago!) From start to finish, everyone we worked with was incredibly kind and helpful. Our salesperson, Joe B, was fantastic—he took the time to explain everything in detail, answered all our questions with patience, and made the whole process easy. Ginger, who delivered our car to Chicago, was just as wonderful. She was friendly and professional, making the final step of the purchase feel just as smooth as the rest. This was, hands down, the easiest and most enjoyable car-buying experience we’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a dealership that truly cares about its customers, Royal on the East Side is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Went in to service department to see about getting help for my car that broke down ( I didn’t purchase there but they are the closest vw dealer) waiting over twenty minutes, didn’t seem very eager or interested in helping me I have a warranty they didn’t bother to look anything up for me or help me in anyway so I had to pay $255 to get my car towed to Avon since it wasn’t the closest dealer since this dealership that was closest didn’t bother to assist me. Bought a car from Royal and at the time of the they only had 1 key fob. Salesman said here's an I .o u., come back at your convenience and we will get you fixed. I went there last week, in person and they said I needed to make an appointment and come back for this No worries, that's what I did. I also gave the service person the I O.u. and he said won't be a problem he just called to make certain that they had one. I showed up for the appointment and they took the car for 2 and half hours to come back and tell me that they wouldn't honor the i.o.u. and wouldn't make an additional key fob for it. We will never recommend or spend another dollar in their dealership. Royal Eastside, you have Failed and lost a customer for life. Thanks for wasting my day...

I have had a great experience dealing with the sales and service teams at Eastside. I found a good used car at a reasonable price with no pressure or gimmicks and they worked with me to get the deal I wanted. There was a scheduled service for the following week that went smoothly. The service team was good to work with, stayed in touch along the way. My car was finished as promised. I would recommend Royal on the Eastside.

Not super pleased with my car buying experience from here. Staff was friendly in person but I’ve had the vehicle for 2 weeks now and have had some concerning issues regarding the oil and coolant system, both pretty major for driving and should have been looked over before selling. I’ve put less than 500 miles on it and feel these problems were just covered up to sell. Update the car has been underivable now for over a month. The car is suppose to have a warranty on the motor. I was sold a LEMON and they are refusing to make it right unless I pay more than I already have.

I went to test drive some vehicles this past weekend and the sales rep that helped me was Jereme. I have not had many positive experiences with car salesmen, so I wanted to share this one. He was kind, listened, didn’t push me or ask annoying personal questions trying to close the deal. I decided to wait a bit longer before making a decision and he was still kind and patient! If I do get a new vw or Audi, it will definitely be from him. If not, and you are headed there, I’d suggest asking for him to avoid the headaches that some salesmen bring!

We bought my wife’s Subaru off of them, and it was an excellent experience. We had Joe B and he did everything he could for us. The service center is where I lose trust in this business. They stripped out my lug nuts and tried to charge me for them. That was until I brought it to their attention that they’re the only ones that I’ve ever rotated the tires and then all the sudden it’s “oh we’ll do it at no charge.” That was the first time I took it in. If it would’ve been her, I really think she wouldn’t have known what to do and just would’ve went along with it. Each one was $85. As you can imagine that would add up quick. From that moment on, I decided that I would do the maintenance myself, I’ve done all our cars up until this point. This was our first new car that’s why we opted to have the dealership do the maintenance. When I went in to get the oil and the oil filter, the guy that walked me back to the parts was telling me that the oil is SO difficult to change, he continued to tell me that the drain plug was in a completely different location than other cars. I thought this guy is full of Sugar, Honey, Iced Tea. He was trying to scare me into getting The service done there. After removing the oil plug, In an easy to reach Location, I noticed It was completely stripped out. I really do believe that they try to take advantage of those who don’t know how to do maintenance on a vehicle themselves.

My husband and I got a Subaru Ascent at this dealership and have only had trouble with it. The first two fixes with the vehicle, they were fairly helpful. This last one has been a nightmare. It's an engine issue, and we're within the warranty by 500+ miles, so it should be a no-brainer... Subaru is contesting the warranty and STILL has my unfixed car after over a month. They said they had fixed it twice, and it happened again before I was even halfway home, so I turned it back around and drove it back. We filed a complaint with Subaru customer care a couple of weeks ago now and have not heard anything back after several messages left. I will NEVER buy a Subaru again. And I highly advise anyone looking for a vehicle to NOT buy a Subaru go woth a dodge or ford.. or literally anything else. This is affecting my livelihood with not having reliable transportation, and I bought this vehicle new. This shouldn't even be an issue.....

I'm wring this review as a customer of this dealership since 2018. I purchased a new car in 2018, and their service at that time was great. Nothing to complain. I used their maintenance service until 2022. They explained every single item of the service very clearly, fair price, and gave me honest and genuine advice based on my car's conditions instead of some universal checklist. They are still the best service I have ever used (compared to other two different dealerships I used in the midwest). They were thorough and responsive when I was preparing paperwork to ship my car to another country this year. Super helpful. I've recommend this dealership to my friends.

I looked up to Royal until I decided to buy a car from them. I bought a used car and was so happy and excited only to have it over heat on me, not even a month later. So I take it back and they put me in a different vehicle that tripled in price and payment, and it starts overheating in four months. They said this one came with a two year warranty and it did not. So here I am with a 36.000 vehicle that is worth 17,000, the 4,000 I gave them, down the drain and having to put thousands in it to fix it. Hope no one else has to go through it.

Beautiful dealership, great customer lounge with plenty of snacks and beverages while you wait and even better customer service. This is my first time owning a VW and dealing with a Royal has been a breath of fresh air compared to my trouble with another dealership in town. I was informed of everything, every step of the way, even just for a service! Every customer there was handled with care and everyone was so polite! And best yet, nobody tried to sell me something I didn’t need! Highly recommended!

I never imagined I’d be buying a brand new car, but here we stand and she is a beaut. And all I can say is I’m a raving fan of Royal on the Eastside and their staff now. Josh Bings and Jared Mann made the process low-key, low pressure, and high quality all while joking around with me and smiling the entire time. It was the least stressful car buying experience I’ve ever had (including shopping online!), and I couldn’t hype them up more. 🙌🙌 Looking forward to working with y’all for years to come!

I love Royal on the East side in Bloomington. If I am treated fairly I will remain loyal to a business. They are OUTSTANDING and I will continue to go to them for everything I need to keep my 2019 Jetta S up to date on all maintenance. They really have taken care of me.

I have purchased two vehicles from Royal now and both experiences were awesome. No pressure, fair prices and fair/good trade in prices. Each time I went, I found what I wanted and after making the leap to buy, was in and out in 30-45 minutes. No head games here like at other dealerships. They will let you take the vehicle out to run errands or whatever you need to give it a good long test drive and make sure it's definitely what you want. They don't pressure for financing like other dealers, cash is just as good! Cars are perfect inside when you pick up, cleaned thoroughly! They didn't worry about my dog hair lined trade in and told me not to bother trying to clean it, they would! There was a crack in the window with the second vehicle I purchased and before I even noticed it, they had already set up the appointment for me to get a new windshield on them. I won't go anywhere else and will recommend no one else.

Just bought my used vehicle at this Subaru dealership and had an amazing experience! Jordan Phillips was my salesman and he worked hard to find the right vehicle for me. He really listened and thoughtfully considered everything I was looking for in a vehicle. The paperwork part was efficient and seamless. We have had our other car to the service department and also had great experiences with the service department as well.
