Very shady billing practices. They force you to sign a contract that does not spell out any of the additional charges that may come up. When you call to cancel or move service, they just make up charges & the amounts of said charges. This is after completing the entire contract term!!

If there was another trash service, other than waste management available to Cahokia residence would sign up in a heartbeat. Waste management has gone downhill. They are unpredictable. You never know when your trash is going to be picked up and your bill is never the same twice with zero explanation.

My biggest complaint is in their customer service. It's pretty much through the WM app. I hate their app, it is a loop of wasted time to get to a person. The person is not always helpful and there are delays and much effort via email to get answers, where you have to contact them more than once. The driver and pickup services are fine. They do not have recycling in our Belleville area. I don't know what competitors charge so I cannot say whether it is a good value or not.

Waste management has failed to pick up my trash for 2 weeks in a row. This isnt the first time ive had trash pile up due to the driver skipping my address. There are no access issues with the road I live on, and there has been no incliment weather to prevent service. I always pay on time, and in return they let trash pile up in front of my house. My experience with their drivers, is they put forth bare minimum effort and dont care about taking care of the customer. I had to start paying for extra container to deal with overflow due to being skipped so often. At this point I'm searching for alternative service options in my area.

Could not get anyone on the phone for pricing. Open to the public, must have a hard hat and safety vest to enter. 2 ton minimum to dump at $244. However they have no transfer stations in the area that are open to the public.

Very disappointed! I called on 4 seperate occasions for a large item pick up, with the intent of having them pick up 1 item each week until we moved (5 weeks). They forgot EVERY week and I had to pay my landlord a disposal fee, because WM continued to leave my large item, every time they picked up my trash. I was insured that my item(s) would be picked up but they never were. Highly upset! I would not recommend their services and I plan to use a different trash/waste provider in the future. Customer service reps were extremely kind however.

Waste management is a great company. Sometimes they do leave my trash or sometime. I might forget to put it out, but however, overall, I give them an eight out of 10.

Waste Management provides a great service for my neighborhood. Our driver is cool and make sure we get our cans out if we forget. He will honk his horn or get them himself. Either way we appreciate him!

WM seems to be involved with good service & good office staff. We dont have to contact them often, but they are always prompt in service when we do. Replacing or fixing cans that have been damaged or has a worn out part for example. The drivers in our area are always polite & friendly. All go out of their way to help or give advice on best procedures. OFallon, IL

We live in a neighborhood with 39 homes and each of us is responsible for contracting trash pick up for our homes. We have several different companies in the neighborhood during the week. Some are less expensive but the quality of service is less than yours, some have spilled trash, including broken glass, into the street and not cleaned it up, and some miss pick up days. Your team has never done any of that and are completely reliable. Our driver/pick up person is a professional and clearly cares about his work. I can’t recommend WM in any stronger way!

Terrible service. Never picks up on scheduled days. Charges late fees if one day late with payment, but they are continually a day late for scheduled pick up every week without a reason, yet won't waive late charges. We're locked into this company due to our incompetent mayor, so complaints are overshadowed by kick backs. Horrible!

We have been loyal customers of Waste Management for over 10 years. Throughout this time, I have never noticed any occasion where a designated bulk pickup service is offered, such as for disposing of old furniture or other large items. I believe such a service would greatly benefit the community, especially considering the recent restrictions on placing extra garbage bags outside of the receptacle bins and the fact that recycling is only collected once every two weeks. If Waste Management could consider offering an annual bulk pickup day, it would be highly appreciated by residents and would demonstrate a genuine appreciation for your customers' continued support.

This is not the first "pick up" problem I've had with this company. My family's trash pick up is Mondays. We ALWAYS make sure it's out at the road. This week the driver on our route said we didn't put our trash can out. We did... All it takes is for the driver of the route to tell the office that there was no trash can out when they came around to pick up and you're screwed. I called and the office told me it would be picked up by end of day Wednesday. It's still not picked up. We disputed it with WM and they say our can was not out. We are currently looking for a service that will pick up and not lie to keep their own asses out of trouble. I'd give 0 stars if it was an option. UPDATE: It has been a little over a month since I wrote this review. I've had to reach out to WM again for my trash not being picked up. This is becoming a habit for their drivers. I was told my trash would be picked up by 6pm. It again was not picked up as I was told it would be. I would avoid using WM if you want your trash picked up each week on time. Our trash container is ALWAYS put out the evening before pick up so I don't see what the problem is. I'm fed up with WM's service. And to the "WM - Milam Landfill (Owner)", I did email you and got NO RESPONSE in return. Not answering emails is just as bad as your trash truck drivers not collecting my garbage. Completely unreliable. Our trash is SUPPOSED to be picked up on Mondays every week. At least 2 times a month it is not. When you call to complain, they will tell you that it was picked up according to the driver. We have multiple videos from our security cameras clearly showing the driver passing up our trash container. They promise to pick up the next day... it has never happened once. They promise to adjust your bill... they never do. Customer service is almost impossible to reach. As I type this review I've been on hold just under an hour and it's my 4th attempt at calling in the last 2 days. This company absolutely sucks...

Waste Management has always picked up when they're scheduled. If there's a delay (holiday for example), they always informed ahead of time so I can plan accordingly. I rented a roll-off dumpster recently for a project and I couldn't be more delighted with the service. They dropped it precisely when I annotated in the notes and the dates requested were held up as ordered. They're always friendly and professional!

Over priced, didn’t drop off a can even though it was requested 4 times. We ended up buying our own. They would frequently miss our pick ups, and when contacted about missed service, stated they would pick it up the next day. They did not. I’m still waiting to hear back from a service request to talk to an actual person to cancel services. I submitted the request 5 days ago, and was emailed that someone would be in contact within 24 hours. We switched to another company that is almost half the price, has come through by dropping off a can, and is easy to get a hold of.

100% online setup made this a breeze. New customer in a rural area and was able to quickly and easily set up service without having to speak to anyone. Cans were delivered earlier than expected and appear to be brand new. First service happened right on schedule with no issues. Good price as well, ended up being cheaper than I expected for 2 carts.

WM has the worse customer service. I called 4 days straight for a missed trash pickup. CS told me the driver came at 10:18 he didn't pick up one single can that day. BTW we put our cans on the night before. Each time I called they was sending someone out. I requested for a supervisor to call not one time have I gotten a call from that supervisor. One customer service rep gave me a report number (13146263) cause I told him how many times I had called and requested to speak with someone. It's a shame they take your money, but do not care about their clients. I live in Cahokia Heist and unable to get another company. Our driver will not get out of that truck to pickup any debris that falls out the cans. You have to pick that up when you go to get your cans from the curb.

We did not get a choice in the transition from republic services to waste management. Overall the service has been good since the switch. A couple times when we had missed pickups, it was a hassle to reach someone on the phone and get it rescheduled. I didn't like that the person on the phone said, "well your driver said your trash wasn't at the street." Which was clearly a lie, my trash and all of my neighbors got missed and all of our bins were at the street. Eventually we got it picked up. Generally not a problem, but it has been a hassle a few times.

When it's functioning as promised their service is worth a 4 star review. Unfortunately servicing my rural area is sporadic. Follow up to correct issues is not great. The only thing seems to happen is a promise of "By the end of business day tomorrow" and "we will have the site manager phone you this afternoon to resolve the issue" which never happens. The phone agents are never rude, and I feel they try to resolve issues but nothing usually happens unless you call daily for up to 2 -3 weeks. I feel it's unfair to be charged for services not received.

Finally received my bins the day after the service start date. So basically late. Most companies do not wait until the last moment to get you their product. Then the bins they delivered were filthy and beat up. Every waste management company I have ever used initially deliver clean newer containers that don’t smell like a dead animal and have holes in the bottom.

My service is exceptional. This company has provided us with consistent and reliable service from the start. It was easy to sign up for service, with no up front costs. And, our service driver is exceptionally great! He's friendly and helpful. He makes us a priority, picks up on time and leaves our property neat and orderly after pick up. Great service. Great company. Highly recommend their services.
