The dealership lied to me and I wouldn’t prefer nobody to go there. I went to go look at a scion tc, Kevin told me the car has been inspected by his trusted mechanic, which in my perspective it has never been looked at. The clutch started slipping, and after further inspection found couple more (easy to inspect for a mechanic) downsides with the car. he guaranteed me that valve cover has not been leaking (which it clearly leaks). Power steering fluid is black as it can get, spark plugs need to be replaced as well as both heat shields repaired underneath the car. Very disappointed, lies on lies and they won’t take care of their customer. I would definitely give them a 0 star if possible. Stay away from that place before you spent money on their crooked business

I would strongly recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a used vehicle. I recently purchased a truck from them and found myself extremely impressed. Not only with the vehicle, price, and ease of purchase but the personable service was outstanding. With some bad luck the truck managed to get a flat tire after I took it home, Kevin ended up taking care of the entire issue even though the dealership was not obligated at all. He has also reached out personally to follow up with me on the issue. Customer service was far above and beyond expected!

Within one day of purchase of a used truck the rear differential began to make noise and vibrate. They honored the warranty and replaced it with a used unit. They did not put the brakes from the original unit onto the replacement. The original brakes were in excellent condition. The brakes on the replacement were completely worn out. I told the mechanic that I had no feeling in the brake pedal. He looked at it briefly and told me this is how the pedal should feel. He also told me he had looked at the brakes before installing the replacement and that they were in better condition. Only give them your business if you like to be lied to.

MAE and Kevin help me to find a used truck for our business. Kevin stayed in touch after our first contact and helped locate a reasonably priced pick up truck thru his resources. I found him to be forthright and honest about the vehicle condition he was selling and he went one step further to help fix a few cosmetic issues to make sure if was perfect when I wasn't expecting considering it was a used truck. He also helped arrange getting a plow added to our truck from a local company in the area. Today its all about servicing the customer and Kevin did just that.

Highly recommend Mchenry Auto Exchange! Kevin was wonderful to work with. I bought a Ford F150 and he got my payments where they needed to be. Best of all, Kevin test rode my trade in with my bulldog Dallas along for the ride. Dallas approved! 💯

Bought a 2005 chevy colorado few weeks ago. Check engine came on , did a tune up and spark plugs were wet of oil. And it looks like they never did maintenance to the vehicle. They sell cars with no oil change and they also gave me the truck low on oil . I was trying to buy a good vehicle and that's why I came with this small dealership. In that case I should've bought one from Facebook marketplace. Do not recommend

My experience with this business was outstanding. At first I was a bit cautious as I believe you should be with used car dealerships. But after myself and one of my mechanic friends checked out the 2010 Tacoma they had. We found no problems at all. Took it out for a test drive and found no problems there as well. I bought it then and there. I did run into a problem with the truck the first week. But when I talked to Kevin about it he squared things away and had it fixed. I don't believe you will get the same treatment at any other used or really any dealership anywhere else. I drove an hour away to get there and it was worth every mile to get there. They are a military friendly business and I would love to do business with these people again when I'm in the market for another vehicle a few years down the line. I would highly recommend this place for anyone that is looking for a place to get a good used vehicle on a budget and would get what I believe is genuinely good customer service.

Not to be trusted. Bought a 04 Toyota tundra from them about a year ago. Since then, nothing but problems. Three months later, power steering went out. Five months later, Check Engine light comes on, need new gas tank. Parking brake doesn't even work (terrible if you're trying to pass a vehicle safety inspection) of course I was told "I'd be surprised id there was any mechanical problems related with this vehicle" Hey Kevin, bet you're reading this now, Give me a call and maybe ill take this down.

We bought a Lincoln Navigator through McHenry auto sales. Kevin was so wonderful to work with. Very kind and knowledgeable. Went out of his way to get the vehicle ready for us faster than usual. Transaction was smooth and fast. No complaints. He even called 2 weeks later letting us know another set of keys was sent his way and that he would get them in the mail to us right away. 5 ⭐️ customer service. We will be contacting them again for our vehicle needs.

My wife and I had a great experience buying our truck from Bob. He was able to take in our trade-in at a fair and reasonable price. After having my own mechanic look over the truck, they raved about the work that was done by Bob's mechanic. I was extremely pleased to hear this and knew I was getting a truck that didn't have shortcuts taken. Bob himself, was very personable. I bought a 2008 Mercury Mountaineer and the car buying experience was great! They had no problem letting me take it to a local mechanic to get inspected and Kevin was great with helping me to get great pricing on tires and other parts to bring the vehicle to tip top shape. The only thing to know is that they only accept cash or check if you plan on paying for the vehicle outright or putting a down payment on the car. I highly recommend them and encourage you to get your next car here!

I purchased a vehicle here. I live out of state. When I went to go home, heard a noise that I was not sure of. I contacted this dealership. They had the vehicle looked at and serviced overnight. There was a cost for me but it was very fair. This is a small lot and are very friendly. Thank you Bob and Kevin.

The staff was very easy to work with and the vehicle we bought was in great condition for its age. My personal mechanic found only minor issues, things you'd expect on a 15 year old vehicle. We came from a couple hours away in Wisconsin so there are some difference requirements to process and license. But Bob was great in handling the paperwork and reimbursed the difference in registration fees being from Wisconsin. Very little haggling, they were willing to work with us.The only issue involved in this transaction was delivery of paperwork, but that was more on the post office than anything. You sometimes have to be skeptical when buying a used car, but I feel McHenry Auto Exchange was friendly, honest and willing to go the extra step to make sure we were satisfied with the purchase.

Me and my dad had an excellent experience buying my 2005 silverado 1500 from this place. The owner and his son are extremely nice and very reasonable. They don't pressure you at all and are very good guys to do business with. They sell good quality vehicles and I would buy from them again! Recently bought a truck from Lee. He was great dealing with. They stayed after hours and we ended up making a deal. Only reason not 5 stars is because 100 miles off the lot, the check engine light came on. I hooked it up to a scanner and the dtc that was set takes 75 miles to set after it is reset. Knowing it's a used vehicle it was expected. It seems that it was reset before with out fixing the problem so a check engine light wasn't on at point of sale. If I knew it was reset by their mechanic, I would be upset. No way to prove that though. Great people to deal with! Thank you.

Having had several years of experience in the automobile business as a sales manager at a new Ford dealership, I am very familiar with the sales process and always alert to the various "tactics" that can be used on unsuspecting consumers. Recently, when a friend asked me to help him find and purchase a first car for his daughter, my search for the right car brought me 70 miles to McHenry Auto Exchange. Concerning McHenry Auto Exchange, I must say that everything that was done and said, from the beginning as we talked on the phone, to the end when we picked up the Honda Accord on our second trip, was done honestly and professionally. If I had been disappointed in any way I would not be taking time to write this review, but principled men such as Bob and Kevin deserve to be acknowledged.

I bought a used truck from these guys and I absolutely love it, never have had any problems with it and they give great service! I even had one of the workers here give me a call back after a month of purchase just to make sure everything is going good! Thumbs up to this car service for sure!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE! DISHONEST! MISLEADING! I would also give this dealership less than 1 star if I could. I drove today 2 hours to look at an 05 Nissan Altima that was in "excellent condition," "runs and drives perfect," and had no "check engine lights on." When I called and asked for further details on the car before driving down to look at it, the son of the owner (Kevin) told me everything was great with it and no issues at all with the bodywork, interior, or anything - they even had their own mechanic check it out. So, this would be an amazing car to buy right? We went to look at it and took it to a different mechanic and they told us straight up "don't buy this car! Butch and Hack have been working on this car." There was issues with it everywhere, cracked front bumber, bubbled paint on the rear truck lid, a replaced truck lid (that was evident from the inside), cracked taillight, a large chip in the windshield, loose/hanging side mirror, a decent scratch in the driver's door, check engine light was on (an issue with the catalytic convertor), a replaced catalytic convertor that was poorly installed and didn't fit well, a missing interior door handle panel, rusted out floor panels on both the drivers and passenger side that had been badly patched with scrap metal under the carpet, and a driver's door seal that had been pried away multiple times for a hanger to unlock the door (the hanger was even still custom bent and in the trunk). When I expressed frustration with the owner about testing out a lemon, he blew it off as "well, it's a used car." My extreme discontent is with the fact that I was intentionally mislead and lied to regarding the condition of this car. They clearly blew off my concerns with the vehicle and pretended that it did not have issues. This is a dishonest business and I would recommend them to no own. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! They will offer you great prices to make a sale, but are NOT TRUSTWORTHY!
