One of my new favorite thrift stores! All the employees were great and I got tons of beautiful glass pieces and I got an incredible set of "rad orange" breakfast servingware!

There are days that I would give this thrift store a five-star rating and there are days such as yesterday. If possible I would have given them no Stars. I spend over $100 at this thrift store on a regular basis. As a regular customer that spends plenty of money there and plan to do so in the future, the manager Janelle, was extremely rude to me when all I was doing was checking clothing for stains and damage. I set these aside to give to them so they were not sold to others that didn't notice the damage because nothing is returnable. Most visits I am welcomed with smiles, pleasant communications and a feeling of appreciation and satisfaction after leaving. I was given attitude today by the manager janelle even after telling her I had separated the damaged materials and she told me to do it in the aisles and if I don't want to purchase it , to place damaged goods back on the rack for someone else 2 weeks to waste their money on. When I decided not to purchase some items I was going to put the items on the dressing room return rack so I did not put them back in the incorrect place. For this I was pretty much yelled at. For a religious thrift store I was not treated with the actions of a religious person. I was so offended that I left my cart and any other items that I was going to purchase or put back right I was and walked out. This is not the person I am but I refuse to be disrespected by anyone let alone from the place that I donate to and spend plenty of money at. I understand people have bad days but even on my bad days I would prefer being kind and making others happy because that improves my life and emotional well-being. I am a firm believer in recycling, selling or giving away used items that are in good condition. This was a thrift store that was helping me make quality clothes, that requires much attention to make Brand name items that are in condition to affordable to those that cannot afford brand name clothes. This not only helps those that cannot afford the clothes they require in excessive amount of money that in this economy most people cannot afford. This is practical along with keeping more items out of the dump. I find it frustrating when people throw away items that have nothing wrong with them and can benefit others including plastic children's toys. I will grab them, clean them up and give them away for free just to keep them out of the dump and island of plastic in the ocean. Thrift stores are also a necessity for me because I am disabled and cannot afford to purchase regular priced clothing. In the last year and a half I went from a size 14 to a size 8 to 10 requiring me to purchase multiple new wardrobes, which without thrift stores like this which I want to support because profits go towards a good a good cause. Before visiting this thrift store ever again, I feel the need to call and check if Janelle is working because I want nothing to do with that place while she is in it. I cannot believe how much I was disrespected by the manager after trying to be very respectful. This disrespect included multiple passive aggressive nasty comments which is something you wouldn't respect from a place like this. They became so extreme I just left from being so utterly disrespected. I hope the manager, Janelle, steps up and drops the attitude that should not be allowed in a place like this or anywhere. Other than her, I really enjoy shopping there and the other employees and there their attitudes. This is a main reason why I will continue to shop here, after being treated horribly and ridiculously out of line manager is not there. Pretty much the staff is a mixed bag of super friendly, helpful workers and super disrespectful, unprofessional and mean behaviors.

Worst experience ever. A women named Celeste helped me out and she was absolutely rude when she was “helping” me she kept talking in Spanish so I couldn’t understand what she was saying to her friend. Later on they went to a room with a bunch of clothes and I could hear them laughing at me and my children. Their is so much more but I can’t say it without using explicit language

It was so much nicer when it was organized by size and not color. The pants were hung up by size and I don't have to fold and unfold. The shoes were all in one place.

Pretty much zero reason to stop here anymore. Must not get many donations since there’s not much to choose from anymore and what’s there is mainly worthless junk. Lots of clothing though.

Employees here are so rude every time I come here I get a bad vibe and attitude. I’ve seen multiple furniture items marked higher than retail price. This stuff is used warn down and donated. I’ve never seen anything so greedy. Some items aren’t marked and when you ask how much an item is they go by your race and tell you a price they feel like you should pay.

Everyday great sales! This is the best trift store I do reccomend to shop nearby. Note: Never go to Goodwill, they overpriced items, sometimes price is exceeding original sale price from store doneted.

Found a great piece and carried it to the front desk and asked the cashier to hold it while I continued to shop. He agreed and when I went back to buy it he had sold it to someone else. Definitely don’t ask the cashier for help and just buy it outright because they aren’t paying attention.

Under new management was the best choice for this place. So many hidden gems. Name brands clothes for half the price of the "other" thrift shops. The manager CARES about this store and his employees. Highly recommend for a great bargain.

Discounts should be 90% off, nothing is organized, this gives goodwill bins. But paying way more money. Not worth the stop in my opinion

Used to love this spot but the employees have just gotten worse. Was standing outside on the Portillo’s side, door was locked so I called. the male employee in a beanie legit just said “the doors not locked” and left me standing there to knock for a customer to let me in. How are you going to tell someone they’re lying and not even try to check? The rearrangement is okay but I agree, not organized well and, by the staffs attitude, I’m sure not being monitored.

I love this store the prices are reasonable. They have very nice selection of clothes and there employees are nice.

Who in the heck decided to rearrange EVERYTHING?!? It's horrible. The clothes have zero organization now. Everything clumped on a rack. Can't find the size that I need. Different types of shirts clumped together. And WHY did they put up a costly barrier around the furniture to make it even far less accessible. Everything other than clothes is completely disorganized. I found a very rude female employee of older age. This place 3 months ago made sense. Now it's a utter DISASTER. Everyone things so.

Been shopping here for years but won't ever come back now. The managers and employees are horrible and rude. Saw them picking through everything and keeping it for themselves ! Watched a rude female manager accuse a poor man of stealing the donated bread that the truck driver had personally handed him. She even threatened to call the police on him!! It was awful. She probably was mad that he got the good pastry before her!The employees always keep several pastries each before any of the people that need it can get some. They also always keep all the good pastries and leave everyone else the hamburger and hot dog buns and place a limit of 1 per person while the keep several cakes and pastries for themselves!?! Also, everytime you find a deal and take it up front to pay for it, the manager says it's the wrong price and someone must have changed it! What?! She must not have seen that item and wants it to sell it herself so she makes up a lie that that's not the correct price then comes back with a ridiculous price so you don't buy it and she can keep it to resell herself online! I have never in all the years I've shopped and donated here seen things get so bad. I work at a store that donates some of that bread and pastries thinking it's going to people that need it and can enjoy it, only to find out it mostly goes to the employees!!??? That's just stealing from the poor and it's so wrong! Will not be going back after seeing all that and will definitely let work know what really happens to our donated bread!

The gentleman working tonight was wonderful. He's so friendly and helpful and does his job great. I love the selection at this shop and the prices are good too :)

Employees grab the quality stuff for their resale businesses. Not really helping the poor community. I overheard a female employee telling a customer she sells on Poshmark and she grabs all the purses, jewelry, etc. to resell. Turned me off that employees do that in a place like this. St. Vincent de Paul was “father of the poor.”

DO NOT DONATE YOUR ITEMS HERE UNLESS YOURE OK WITH THE WORKERS KEEPING IT FOR THEMSELVES!! I just had the worst experience today at this second hand store. I’ve been coming here for years and have never had a problem other than Janelle who is always rude and I always see her carry things from the back room straight to the register where she holds the stuff she wants and probably doesn’t even pay for. My point is I don’t think it’s right for the workers to keep DONATED items that the store is suppose to sell. I wasn’t aware this was a third hand store but I always see her doing this. Today was by far the worst experience because the item I wanted to buy Janelle said that wasn’t the right price tag (in a very rude manner). Then I asked her “well what do you mean”. Then she says “someone changed the price”. She told the other lady to go have them write a different price. So I waited and they come back with a price of $15.99. For a USED, DONATED item. At that point she wasn’t even talking directly to me anymore and just put it behind the counter without even asking if I still wanted it which is why I felt wrongly accused. They should really make sure they price items right before letting a customer find it and want to buy it but then raise the price on them and basically accuse them and say “someone changed the price”. Which is ridiculous. I’ll post the pictures I took to show proof they have items they want stored in their lunch room and behind the register which is down right wrong. Ive heard Janelle tell coworkers “this is mine” while she’s putting the items behind the register. I’ve even seen Janelle and her husband/boyfriend (a bald guy) pull up their car and put stuff in their trunk when the store is closed. Someone like her should not be working there she has horrible customer service and doesn’t care about the rights of the customers or people who donate the items because it’s sad the people who donate items are thinking they’re items are going on the floor for low income families but a lot of it gets taken from the workers. I will not be back at this store if she continues to work there.

Honestly this spot is the best thrift store I have ever been to. The employees are very helpful I didn't get their names, but it was a tall gentleman and another gentleman there that helped me unload some things my mom was donating. They smiled the entire time and made small conversation. Walking in the store it's super organized, they have great prices and amazing employees. If you are looking for some awesome stuff for a great value this is the place to go. Forgot to mention this thrift store sells furniture and also accepts donated furniture unlike Goodwill & Salvation Army.

I went into the store today and on the upper wall they have a color code thing to let you know what color is on sale it had ORANGE so, when I found an item with orange tag and went to pay the lady charged me regular price. I told her it has the color orange up on the wall she walked to a sing they have in the back by door and and said it was yellow. They should decide what system to use Either you use the written form on a board or have the color desolate so is customers don’t confused. I think they just decide what is convenient at the time. Have a sing at both doors not just one at one door where. It all people go thru. I have donated many things here and shop for many many years so it’s not my first time. They have used the color thing so not sure why now it was different.!

We've seen such lovely furniture lately n found some vintage ornaments n lights brand new in their box. In the showcase I've seen vintage barbie dolls n lots of vintage Disney characters they're pretty pricey but I remember almost all monies go to local charities. I've always recommended this place n older folks say no thanks n 20's thru 40's are hooked. They'll send me an image saying mom cried her mom had this Santa or this lamp 40-50 yes back. Hey try it you'll either love it or say no thanks..

Ive been a regular shopper here for many years as I grew up in the area, not only has the prices sky rocketed but the new management is just plain rude. I once loved this second hand store until the I found out it was a third hand store meaning the stuff that is DONATED for them to sell is not going directly out on shelfs for second hands meaning the shoppers to look over, all the items donated are looked at first by them to see if the workers want it first. And I experienced it for myself as items were by the register I was looking and the women worker actually stoped me and said those items are mine. Just a very sad store now to go into, will not be in again. Very disappointed when i found out it was a third hand store.

I've been a loyal customer here for six years running. I understand that the Pandemic has changed things, but the post-shutdown price gouging here has jumped the shark. The price of books/DVDs went up 50% and, with no individual color ticket, will never be on sale. They have upped the price of DVD boxed sets to $4.99, surpassing GoodWill's $1.99. Among other things, this has led to an inventory stall and less turnover of new product. In addition to that, all of the individually-priced items have now achieved full retail prices. Some examples: Restaurant Mass-Produced Chandelier will cost you $350; China-produced piano bench will cost you $50; $50 will buy you a ceramic un-licensed Alligator; $80 will buy you a single china teacup... and I could go on like this for hours. This is a *charity* shop that is now being run like an Antique Mall. There's less staff on the floor, but plenty of laughter going on in the back rooms. I severely hope this is a temporary measure to keep the store from going under, but I think it will be doing the opposite. It's sad to see a place where one could get the best deals in town turn into just another over-priced money-pit.

Please note that all of the St. Vincent de Paul stores and pickup services are currently on hold due to the non essential businesses closing. There is no one at the stores to accept donations for the moment. They asked to please hold on to any donations until they are able to receive them.

My first time stopping in. Supervisor (Daniel) was very helpful and informative. Wrapped my items carefully and made me feel like family. Will definitely stop in again.

I've been shopping here when I can for about 20 years now. This location has always pleased me with their selection and prices. Top it all off with good overall service from the staff. My best purchase ever was a brand new (tags still attached) extra large recliner (worth at least $350+) with absolutely nothing wrong with it other than the green color of the fabric. That fantastic $60 purchase had lasted me for many years. They don't seem to carry much if any "new" furniture as of my most recent visits, but the hope that I might come across another such great find keeps me coming back whenever I can... St Vincent DePaul - Addison, IL always does a great job... Thank You!

Furniture is usually in good condition but overpriced. Appliances such as microwaves , toasters, and blenders overpriced. Clothing is decently priced and knick-knacks and arts and crafts are fairly priced. Employees range from apathetic to Rude.
