Called late in the evening looking for a spot for the night and the owner was very helpful. Grounds were full of heavy snow and it was dark but he still came out to greet us and made sure we had everything. No amenities but you get what you pay for and it was a great price for 1 night. Being from Ireland and always driving into the unknown on our road trip is was great to have people looking out for us.
What a nice little place to stop so you can really explore Rte.66 attractions and communities. Quiet, clean, and the owners and their dog...Very Friendly.

Were met by a friendly "shirtless" man who helped us park. The water standpipe was shared by an adjoining site. The dog is quiet and does not jump on you. The price charged was very reasonable.
Camped here Sept 2025. Beautiful, well kept and quiet. The brothers have a good operation here and are so kind, responsive and accommodating. I recommend highly.
We were traveling through the area with two other RV's. The owners were extremely nice and allowed us to dump and fill. They were great people. If your in the area and need a spot. Call them.
The Best camping site in Lincoln IL, it’s really cozy and the owners make you feel right at home Eric and Todd are gracious camping site owners. If you’re in the area don’t miss the opportunity to pull your Camper in and enjoy the quiet night and star gazing. I hope to see my fellow campers here in passing. Just save me a spot🙃😊
Found this park after another park we were gonna stay at had double booked and didn't have the site we had reserved. Things work out for the best though.....this was a hidden gem. Place is a small mom and pop, very quiet country setting. We loved it. The man was very nice and we were pleased with this park.
This small family park is perfect for a quiet low key place to rest. In the country - but only two miles from shopping, restaurants and the various tourist spots in Lincoln. Easy access to I-55 and only about 35 minutes to the Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield. This campground isn't set up for families with kids. It is more appropriate for couples. And Camp A While is very dog friendly. The camp mascot - Wrigley, wants to meet and greet everyone.
Would definitely come back to this cute little campground. Eric & Todd are both great— friendly & helpful, and Wrigley is the sweetest good dog. The site was perfect for me and the sunrise view was amazing!
Camp A While is a small, quiet, and safe RV park that provides the perfect location to decompress while traveling historic Route 66. The park is owned and operated by two solid lads (Eric, Todd) and one awesome Lab named Wrigley.
Hydro, Water, Sewer and pull through sites are available. However, if you're looking for a party spot, pool, bonfires, washroom/shower you'll need to look elsewhere. This park is for travelers looking to recharge themselves before getting more kicks along Route 66!
We have a 40 foot motorhome. We were in site 10 at the end. This is a small place in a grove of trees surrounded by farmland run by 2 brothers. We were at the end, next to the farmland, so we had more room than most. It was very nice.
A great place to relax. Quiet and peaceful. The owners are great guys and their dog “Wrigley” is just as friendly. They help you get into your spot. They even contacted me while we were away to let me know a line of storms were nearby because I left my awning out. All of the pull through sites are level with power water and sewer hook ups. Great for a few nights or just passing through. If you forgot something, Walmart is only 5 minutes away. We will definitely return!
We absolutely enjoyed the pure and unique atmosphere of this park. The owners are so hospitable and of course wrigley the welcoming lab was the best. Even though we’re from Albuquerque and used to beautiful hot air balloons, it was a pleasure to see these balloons rising over the cornfields. What a treat.
Staff is very welcoming, helpful and friendly. They help guide us in with a 40’ 5th wheel (pull through). Full hook ups for under $50!!! Small park, but plenty to do near by.

We liked it so much we extended our 2 day stay to 4 days.
The owners, Eric and Tom are so friendly, kind and caring. Plus Wrigley, the camp pup was a delight.
It was also so to close Lincoln, where there is so much to do and a very welcoming town.

Hidden gem!! Small and peaceful accommodations! Owners and their sweet yellow lab met us as we arrived. Such a personal touch to make us feel welcome. Full hookups. Shade trees. Dog friendly. Our Aussie dog gives it a 5 star also!
Nice one night stop passing through. Surrounded by corn/soybean fields. Quiet. Full hook ups available. Reasonably priced. Owner is very nice and accommodating. Their dog, Wrigley, was friendly. We would stay again.
Wow!! Among the cornfields of Illinois! And greeted by Wrigley, what a sweet dog! Easy to get in, very accommodating and a perfect stop on the way home to Missouri from Door County, Wisconsin
We just left this wonderful little campground. I very rarely write reviews, but we were so impressed. It will definitely be a place we go back to again and again as we head south from Chicago to go on our travels. Two brothers run it who are very kind, helpful and communicative. They met us when we pulled in and helped us get into our site. It is obvious that park is very well cared for. It is in a quiet and pretty setting. Perfect place to spend the night. Thanks so much!
We stopped here for one night on our way to Michigan and are so glad we did. Owners are very welcoming along with their yellow lab, Wrigley. A small park, nothing fancy, our kind of place. Lincoln, IL a cool town.
Wow, what a wonderful experience — from the detailed communication and even greeting us as we pulled in!
We were coming from visiting family in Michigan and heading back to our home in Kansas City, so this was the perfect spot to break up the drive. However we had no idea what we had found. A beautiful, peaceful location, that is well taken care of and will make you feel truly relaxed.
We enjoyed a local pizza from Joe’s Pizzeria (delivery-cash only) and a bottle of wine while watching the sunset and fireflies.
These brothers live on site and are doing it right! (Oh and their sweet dog is so adorable bringing you his toy to play)
We will definitely be back and probably make this our “regular” stop on the way to Michigan and back!
Keep up the great work and hospitality, in this busy world this kind of gem is hard to come by!

In almost 5 years of full-timing, this is easily one of our favorite places. The owners are so friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are settled. They are on well water but it was perfectly fine. They are also on septic so no flushing of black tanks - no big deal. We had a level site with clean power - all hookups were very conveniently located. And these guys get it - when you aren't full, don't pack everyone in right next to one another. Earlier this year we stayed in a 100+ site campground in this area, and with only 5 people staying, we were all in a row. This place, with less than 15 sites, is courteous enough to leave an empty site between RVs when possible. THANK YOU FOR THAT!!! No bathhouse + no pool + no playground + no kids = QUIET!! Conveniently located close enough to Springfield and Peoria but in the middle of open fields. A+, 5/5 stars/ top rating for this, one of our all-time favorite campgrounds!!
Cutest ever camp site!!! We stayed 1 night passing through the state. Full hook up site that accommodated our 40 ft coach. This place is quiet with beautiful grassy areas lined by corn fields. Camp hosts/owners were very helpful and friendly. Helped us back into our site and made sure we got everything hooked up right. Their sweet dog and cat came out to say hi. We left very early the next morning but wished we could have relaxed a little with a cup of coffee and enjoyed the peacefulness. I’d definitely stay there again and hope too next year on our annual voyage to Oshkosh.
Exactly as described. A small - but very nice campground. Full hookup- water sewer electric. Great place to stop for a night if you are traveling Route 66.
