Took my adult kids and grandkids here. It was great! They all had fun. I haven't been here in years and it hasn't changed. Cash only and everyone has to pay.

I have been coming to Novelty Golf since I was a kid. Its now a family tradition to spend part of our birthday playing all 36 holes across both courses. For $21, it's a great value. The holes are creative, challenging, and fun. Many of them can have the challenge reduced by not turning the mechanics on (great for smaller children). The course received a well needed facelift a few years ago (doubling down on the whimsical kitchiness!), though some of the holes do need some additional TLC (mechanics a little rickety side bumpers worn etc) Its not flashy, but its good, old school fun. I love Novelty Golf!

Great old school mini put with lots of fun surprises! A great time and im excited to go back for the vintage photo booth and the second full 18 hole course.

One of the most unique mini-golf places I have ever played. Some of the holes needed some maintenance, but overall the course was in good shape. The price was reasonable

This was a great experience, plenty of parking, fun times for the whole family, solid customer service (please be aware this is a cash only buisness, no card, no Apple pay, or Zelle).

My all-time favorite mini-golf spot. Been coming here since I was a kid and I always have a great time. Nice to see they're modernizing the designs on some of the courses, having two sets of 18 hole courses gives you a lot to enjoy. But the arcade used to have better games (R.I.P. Simpsons Bowling.)

A little over a week ago we visited Novelty Golf for the first time hoping for a fun family outing, but unfortunately had a really negative experience. While we were getting the hang of mini golf, the place got busy and we unknowingly held up the flow. Instead of politely explaining the situation, an older bald man (I believe the manager) came over and yelled at us to keep moving or leave. It was rude, humiliating, and completely unnecessary. We would’ve gladly stepped aside had it been communicated with basic courtesy. What made it worse was that this was my girlfriend’s grandmother’s last day visiting from Mexico—we were hoping to give her a special day. We left immediately after and won’t be returning. If you’re new to mini golf, I’d recommend trying somewhere more welcoming.

Beautiful mini golf course, well kept grounds, flowers, fountains, fun statues and characters, benches to rest, vending machines, even a vintage photo booth. The course has lots of pipes through which ball travels and fun obstacles and challenges that move, spin, and tilt. Four of us played together and had a ton of fun.

Innovative golf course. Often it's up to you to add the challenge or not which is great for kids too. Both courses were kept clean and well taken care of.

The experience was great. The mini golf courses were fun, challenging, with modern themes. My only complaint is the establishment is cash only. Usually that is enough to limit my visits because I don't like being stuck with cash since most places I visit won't take it. I had fun so I will return.

Love novelty golf so much. Been supporting this business for quite some time. Cash-only establishment and very well taken care of. Always have a great time with friends and family.

Favorite new mini golf place! The early bird price is totally worth it. Can't believe we got to play 36 courses for $30. It's such an amazing deal, and I can't wait to come back. This place is CASH ONLY. The course has many benches to sit on in case you are waiting on players ahead of you. They also have soda machines to buy that include a variety of beverages. They have batting cages, a restaurant nearby, and a small arcade. They also have a vintage photobooth for $5.

Hosted an adult's birthday party here and have only positive things to say! Cannot recommend enough. I spoke with staff a few weeks beforehand and they were very clear about pricing and logistics. Then I had to come by in person to pay the deposit and reserve the spot, where they again confirmed all of the details with me about the pricing of mini golf and batting cages. On the day of, they made it very easy - they kept track of how many people in party played mini golf or used the batting cages and charged everything at the end. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The mini golf course is definitely a bit old school, but that adds to the fun. Many of my friends who came commented on how good the course was. The batting cages are also good fun for adults who haven't done it in awhile (or ever). Parking is easy and plentiful. Arcade games looked fun too though we didn't have a chance to use them. It came out to only like $10-15 per person and everyone had a blast! Just make sure you bring lots of cash!

Great friendly staff with all the CHICAGO STYLE eats!! Yum yum! Plenty of parking, sitting, and dog friendly.

Absolutely the best mini golf course(s) in the Chicago area that we have been to thanks to unique holes and classic features like raising drawbridges, windmills, etc. Both the yellow and red course were challenging and fun, and for $10 before noon it is quite reasonable compared to the pricing of others in the area that are incredibly bland for kids. These holes are truly fun and both adults and our 5 & 8 year olds. If you can budget the time (and it would have to not be crowded because even without waiting it's easily at least 1 hour for 18 holes if you're at a normal pace), the fact you can play the 2nd course for 1/2 price is a really good deal. Maybe play in the morning, grab an early lunch/treat at Bunny Hutch, then go back for a 2nd round? Would highly recommend - perhaps some of the older reviews on disrepair were temporary due to coming out of the pandemic, but in August 2021 the course was in great shape and everything was working fine. Update: visited May 2022 and lots of touching up going on, fresh paint, flower beds, etc. Previous concerns from others must have just been due to pandemic. Still best option in town, was once again very fun! Updated 2024: brand new carpet makes most holes play like new. A few pipes, etc., that could use concrete touch ups but for the most part the place is in great shape.

So glad there’s still places like this that exist, I live for the character and magic. They have two different mini golf courses, an arcade, photo booth, and batting cages. Such a fun stop, super affordable, can’t wait for our next trip there!

Nostalgia at its best!!! Batting cages, mini golf and arcade games. We've been coming here for years. Has gotten a little expensive.....was $60 for 4 of us for 1 round of mini golf but it is so worth it.

This course was pretty good besides the fact that one of the courses was closed. The holes were all pretty unique from other courses and from themselves. I really liked the setup and it wasn’t too crowded. The employees were nice, didn’t really interact with them much. Overall I would highly recommend this place for groups of friends looking for a fun summer activity.

We love to always hit up a putt putt when we are in vacation. This was no exception. They had 2 courses here. In very good shape. We played course 1. Very unique obstacles. Plus they have an air hockey table in the game room. I lost the air hockey but won the putt putt lol

Always love coming here! Local old school miniature golf place right in the neighborhood. I've been coming here since I was a young kid - And I will continue to keep coming back as long as I can. They offer two routes of 18 holes. It's an extremely fun and great way to spend the evening. If you plan on visiting, please be sure to bring some cash as they do not accept credit cards.

The mini golf course could use some repairs. It interfered with the game a bit, but the holes are super creative. We also loved that there was so much to do in one spot. Parking is easy. And a yummy hot dog place right next door if you're hungry.

This is the nostalgia and experience of what mini golf should be. Moving pieces, complex holes and ridiculous set pieces! They have 2 18-hole courses with a mixture of fantasy and chicago themed holes, with moving obstacles, water obstacles and multi-levels. Cash only. They do have an atm in the arcade which also has a multitude of games. Batting cages, and vending machines also available.

Clean, organized and fun placed. The kids had fun and the games are challenging. The only recommendation is to take care of most of the plants around the mini golf areas. Otherwise it would be very beautiful. One curse is more than enough to have good time.

Definitely pay the discounted rate to play both courses if you have the time. Gem of a spot with retro feel to it. Great for kids and adults! They've got ample free parking available as well.

Staff are not friendly. Then they talk to you as you were a child. Then I called ahead asking several questions and they never mentions only cash. Ding ding that should be told first. Then parent can’t enter unless they pay. Even if we are only Accompanying your kids. Then they want you to pay for both courses even if you play one. Terrible. Please be aware. Also many of the towers are not fully functional. This company is family owned terrible. Terrible family business not recommend

I was hoping that the time during the shutdown would have allowed this iconic home to family fun to spruce up the place and address some of the age old visual and mechanical shortcomings that were around every corner. We didn't score the game as I was busy retrieving golf balls that were stuck in various "features" and warning other to keep their fingers out of the holes!. ..it had just stopped pouring rain, and we were the only players, but we were asked to split up our group of six to speed to speed things up for other players?. who weren't there? Their ability to not pay attention to the customers experience is evident throughout. I remember going there years ago and enjoying a lot more for a lot le$$. In the diner, the joy of operation was nowhere to be found. My suggestion? Invest in the future. Give everyone a raise and some pride plus the ability to fix the place up!! ...or go out of business. ...yes.. the ball returns were made with 4" rusted steel hvac fittings and pipe! Why?! Bondo now!
