I needed another mirror for my truck and the guy took the payment, placed the order on Wednesday and by Friday they received the part and put it on for me. Very professional and speedy service, thanks a million!
I had an electrical issue with my vehicle. 2 other shops looked at and could not find out the problem. They not only found the issue. But RESOLVED my problem. Every time I called the shop I got through. Some shops I’ve had my vehicle at. They never answer the phone or you get the run around. Roy was always very informative and he didn’t have a nasty disposition. I love CHICAGO AUTO SHOP. If I have any issues with my vehicles I will be back. Thank you
I have never been one to complain about much of anything but I have to be honest this is one of the worst auto shops I have ever been to. They are snakes on two legs.
None of there parts work I bought 4 parts and the shop I went to get the installation done at said all parts doesn't work I went to buy new parts from auto zone and all of the work this place is a scam
SCAMMERS, BEWARE Terrible service , would not recommend, would never go back. Took my truck for repairs, paid $300. After a few days I kept hearing the same noise. I took it back to them, so obviously it was never fixed correctly in the first place.They inspected the truck again and then told me it was another issue, like seriously?? They said it was going to be an additional $700. I ended up taking it to a different mechanic for a second opinion and my issue was fixed for $ 95 GO FIGURE

I Linda Cobbins took my 2006 Chevy equinox to Chicago Auto repair located at 6901 South Bell Chicago Illinois 60636 on June 1st 2023 at 7:00am and left my truck at the shop.
The problem was I needed a A/C compressor installed in the vehicle and the price was initially $500 for the job. Later on, they found out that the wires were not connected correctly in the vehicle so they charged me and additional $250 to correct the wiring in the vehicle.
When I picked up the vehicle I noticed my top to my electrical part box under the hood was missing and I notified Mr Roy, the owner of the shop about the situation right away. He told me that he would speak to the mechanic that worked on my car. This was June 1st and I'm still calling trying to get in touch with him about this top that goes on that box. He’s giving me the runaround. Half of the time he doesn't answer the phone and I've been over to the shop twice and I still haven't resolved this problem because I'm getting the same answer that he needs to speak to the mechanic. I have my receipts for everything that was done to the vehicle but I'm not getting any correct answers about this top and it has been over a week and I'm still waiting on an answer.
Had multiple issues with my truck and these guys took care of them at a very reasonable price. It's always hit or miss with car repair shops. I'm glad I found one I can trust.
They are unprofessional they start working on your car before they tell you what's wrong with it they want to overcharge you they always end up breaking something else on your car so you can come back to them because my air conditioner worked before I handed it to them and then when I gave it back it did not work wouldn't recommend this place for flat tire
Don't take your car here. My friend took his car to prepare for an emissions test they didn't fill out the paperwork saying they completed the job as he gave them the paperwork and made them aware that they should fill it out. They only gave him a receipt 1st red flag.(The old parts wasn't returned to him either) To sum it up he paid $1000 drove off the light came on (they didn't fix the problem) he call to make them aware he took it back the 2nd time after they called him saying his car was ready again he drives off and the light came on again (they didn't fix the problem nor did they text drive it to make sure it was repaired either time) he calls them to let them know again for a 3rd time they say bring the car back. After a week they call him saying they need more money to fix the problem. To add he said it looks like they used his car to pick up parts rear had things moved around and oil stains on the seats and in the back. This place is a rip off. If I didn't have to give a star I wouldn't.
If you are a woman do not take your car there!!!! They charged me for repairs after picking my car up my transmission went out. That was the reason for taking my car in. And they did not want to honor warranty.
Terrible! Went in for a motor he ending up changing the price plus less than 24 hours after picking it up the motor went out. He tried to say it was my fault, and I only drove it home wasn’t going to honor but warranty told me to take him to court. So I filed a consumer report with the city of chicago took a couple of months, but at the end of the day he was fined over 20,000 for a 3,000 dollar job. Roy is a con, and I would say to anyone DONT patronize this place, and if you do or did after reading with comment be patient file a claim with the city of Chicago. This place needs to be shut down, and the only way we can stop this place from ripping people off, and taking advantage is if we REPORT REPORT REPORT!!! My situation did turn out well, but if I could help the next person then my job is done, and I’m completely satisfied. Labastida Auto repair located on 47th and Halsted has to rectify the problem he caused. This place totally different very professional the owner is soooooo awesome makes sure you understand doesn’t charge you ridiculous made up prices, and tries to find the best option for you while making sure you have a A1 job completed, satisfactory , and in timely matter. Chicago Auto Repair is a DUMP!!!
If i could give these people no stars I would they are the worst they LIE their policy is 30 days warranty on ALL USED PARTS they give out bogus parts in when they fail within a week they fail to stick to their policy wouldn't exchange the part told me that it wasn't their part when clearly i presented a credit card statement with their name and address on it amount i paid everything in they still refused to stick to their policy CLOSE EM DOWN...
Took my truck here for two things a $650 job ended up out of over $2,000 because they claim i needed a new motor.. now my truck still isn’t completely fixed my trans now is slipping & Other problems that wasn’t wrong before they touched my truck . Avoid this place they are rip offs

I was interested in purchasing a used 2007 Volkswagen Passat Wagon, from this shop. I spoke to the owner/ mechanic about the vehicle and he stated that the car was in great shape and that it had under 100 thousands miles on it. After running a Carfax report I found out the actual millage, which was over 200 thousands miles. The following day I went back to the shop to inform the owner/ mechanic about the information I found on the Carfax report. He response by stating when he purchased the vehicle from the Auction that's how it came. I asked him about the title and what was the actual miles that were documented? He then stated that he was unaware of the actual mileage on the title and ended the conversation.
I advise anyone who is interested In purchasing a vehicle, please take the time to run a Carfax Vin report and have the vehicle inspected by a reputable mechanic.
The guy that answer the the phone is a ignorant b****. He talks to you on the phone like your a kid that don't know better. Took my car there 3 weeks ago to have my suspension fixed and my car broke Today., How.? And the day I got my car back they started it up and it start making all kind of loud noises that it never made before then my tire start making noises and all the guy had to say was they didn't do that... MORAL OF MY STORY DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT MORE ISSUES
I bough my truck in to change the transmission not on ly have they changed it 3 times n have had the problem goin on for 2 months now but all types of problems that i didnt have before are coming up now ive taken to another mechanic which tells me whoever did my transmission didnt do it righy and all the problems im having go back to the transmission i tried talkin to roy the worker n explainimg what the other mechanic told me n he wasnt trying to hear it now im at my 4th transmission replacement with my other mechanic and have asked for my money back plenty of times and he refuses to give it back service sucks wouldnt recommend it to anyone to the BETTER BUSSINES BUREAU i go?
First off just because this place looks like a dump doesn't mean it's going to be cheaper they're pretty expensive compared to other local shop and trust me the quality is not worth a penny. I've taken my car to this mechanic for a while now and for some reason they always found an ''extra'' problem. I took in my car to have the brakes done which wasn't cheap and when i got my car back it was braking odd and making terrible noises so I brought it back. Well, what a surprise they didn't even look at my car and told me yeah it needs more parts. I took it to a different mechanic the next day who told me who ever had just changed my brakes didn't do it properly and that's why they where malfunctioning. So either this shop purposely didn't do the job right the first time to rob more of my money or their quality is just absolutely garbage. I've always given shops the benefit of the doubt even with bad reviews but do yourself a favor stay away from this shop and find yourself an honest mechanic.
