This place is closed nothing‘s there and they haven’t taken down or change their hours for Hobgood so no communication Good cardboard lots of it go to OK I’ve got cardboard
Not handicapped accessible. The employees are rude. My spouse is 100% PT veteran , we just moved back to GA after her service. She CANT go back and forth with the recycle that it was loose in the trunk of our truck. She parked closer to be able to put the recycling in the dumpster. She got an ear full telling that she couldn’t do it that way but i didn’t see nobody to help a handicap person with severe PTSD. I couldn’t help her due back issues .
What’s the point to recycling and be treated like trash?
Decent but the website should say “closes at 5:50” because it’s like clockwork. I never once have passed this place between 5:50 and 6:00 and had the gate be open ?
It feels like these other reviews are for an entirely different place than I have been experiencing - I’ve been coming here for about 3 or 4 years and have never been turned away or told that their full, I’ve never had anyone be rude either. 1 to 2 people always help me unload and they usually tell me I don’t need to help although I still do! I’m glad they are here & so convenient.
I dont know why this place has such bad reviews. I found it adequate for what I need it for. It is self service but everytime I've gone the compactor had space for me to dump recycling in
The two guys there on 10/10/2024 were horrible and were in a rush to leave. They were rude and acted like we were an inconvenience. When all they did was sit in their cars and yell at us . If I could give 0 stars I would.
Won't even answer the phone to tell you they are full, which they always are, you have to drive there to find out! Never again...I guess I'll be trashing my recyclables now. Not worth the horrid inconvenience that IS the result of trying to do the right thing! This place is a complete JOKE and so are the rude and lazy people working there!
This place is a joke. Always full, and the guy who runs the place is about as rude as they get. Cherokee county desperately needs better options than this.
Most unfriendliness I have ever experienced. Came there, bin full, ask attendant where is next closest center. His answer: Don’t know. Find it yourself. WTH?
This place is terrible. Website says they take paint. Load it up and drive there - rude attendant says they don’t. Terrible experience several times now. Don’t go there!
Employees do the best they can. County needs to step things up and invest in recycling. They are behind the times, mainly in quantity. They get full same day the compactor is emptied and that's been going on for years.
This place is absolute clown show there's a man inside of a trailer tells you you cannot dump the recyclable items they address on the website and says that the Facebook group has it wrong. I show him that this is on your website you can dump a flat screen TV for $20 he says they don't know what they're talking about on the website I've never experienced something like this in my life what a clown show.
I've been to this place twenty times in the past couple of years as I live right down the road and have only been able to use it twice. To sum this place up, I can do it in two words, "Compactor Full."
If you want to dump and recycle your cardboard, go elsewhere. I know they don't empty their compactor regularly. It's been 5 weeks of me trying to dump a load of cardboard every two days and it's always "full."
The employees are also rude and don't care about anyone, some of them will try to help, but you'll most likely get yelled at by some dude that magically comes out of the little shed.
Go elsewhere, they never empty their compactor or the bins and the goodwill trailer is useless.
Was there yesterday. Three men sitting near the trailer, none came over to help, one of the white guys was very rude for no good reason, and then was condescending. Will not use this location again, as there are nicer people at other locations. Not even a full star.
Giving it 2 stars for easy accessibility and great concept (especially because it’s free for Cherokee residents). The staff who work there are not the friendliest which is fine because I’m in and out, but if you need help with anything or have questions just be prepared lol. The main reason for my rating is because the last 3 times I’ve gone (last week/this week) they have a sign that says sorry, we’re closed-bin full. All 3 times have been after 4pm during the week days, the latest was 5:30 p.m. Might be a good idea to change the closing time online?
This recycling location is very convenient and accessible. You have the option, recently, of recycling your glass bottles and jars in a trailer. You can also bring your aluminum cans for a separate repository. During the COVID related time frame, glass recycling was not available. It is now. The large compactor is amazing for recycling all your other goods. There are periodic back-logs when it fills up so consider avoiding Sundays. The staff has been helpful and friendly. The hours are convenient overall. If you have Goodwill donations, this is an ideal place to drop off in their big tractor trailer.
The guys that come to your car were nice and helpful. However some Supervisor yelled that I needed to bag the styrofoam separately from my TV box. My bad for not knowing the rules. But a little customer service. You can tell it’s a government employee
It's convenient enough. One of the staff members was rude to us this most recent trip. Will continue coming here for my plastic, paper, and aluminum. They DON'T have a place for glass anymore at this recycling center. I also like that I can donate things for Goodwill at the same time.
