I get here today at 11 50 by bike just to be turned around bc they decided to close at 1150 when it clearly says in line they close at 12. That's straight bullshit
Brought in a 16 foot trailer full of broken mowers and yard equipment. Looked at my in ticket tin. Needless to say this place is a joke stay away from sa
Employees not helpful. I waited 10 mins the other day while the guy that checks you out blatantly ignored me cause he was too busy in conversation with forklift operator
If I could give us zero, give us zero. I get here the people in the office don’t want to help, and then I finally get my scrap metal unloaded. I had 400 pounds of scrap metal that I got $25 for. Made me sick to my stomach. Knowing good and well they’re going to turn around and sell it for way more than that. But they told me that’s all that they can do. I do not recommend coming here. I would go somewhere other than SA recycling. I had good steel workout stuff from a gym, a white bench weights and bars. Good solid equipment. They label it as tinn
I give it less Stars if I could. I took a load of aluminum down there and was paid $27 for the entire load. They said it was tin. I took the exact same load a week later to another metal recycling place in Macon and received $268 for my aluminum. I will never be back to this recycling center and will never recommend it to anybody that I know.
they r ripping people off..they paid me for my bright bare copper the gave me number 1 copper when it's bright bare.. yall better watch out they getting over on a lot of people.. I'm taking my scrap somewhere else they ain't gonna keep doing me like this..
Thank goodness for Wil, if he hadn't helped us out we wouldn't have any idea how to approach this process, it was a free for all. He was helpful even getting the prices right, were quoted one thing by Wil, and someone tried to give us less. The scale seemed to be off about 50 LBS to what we had estimated beforehand. Crazy process, but made it out with a pretty good payout.
They started off amazing but my last two trips have been nothing but a disaster. They underpay and cheat you on weight.
Never again. $4 for nearly 70 lbs of commercial grade stainless steel and 14 lbs of aluminum? Up yours.
There are other recycling centers around here that offer less, but they won't screw you over on weight and metal type like SA does. Avoid SA LIKE THE PLAGUE.
While trying to do the right thing by taking old scrap metal to a recycling center I encountered rude, lazy and incompetent employees at this center and received a flat tire. From the front desk person to the person telling me which pile to dump on in the back it was really an awful place. The whole place was a pile…no one to explain or show a newcomer what to do or talk you through it. we did learn some things along the way… God is good, the flat tire we received by going here could have been a blow out going 70 on the interstate, we randomly took a different way home and realized it was going flat in time to pull over. So if you want to do deal people like this or get a flat tire this is your best bet.
lady at the entrance shorted us on a full car didnt realise till we left, set it as just the body of the car, exstreamly rude and trys to ride the clock as much as possible, needs replacing
Rude employees; the area in which you have to unload your materials is a mud pit, they won't allow you to park on the concrete because they claim that it is in their way (I was not in anyone's way many cars went right by me in and out I didn't block the gate or the drive around). It was a pretty bad experience thanks for reading and hope yours is better!
Absolute nonsense! Was told by 2 seperate employees before coming up there that scrap iron is $6.50 per 100lbs. Only after I got up there, got all my scrap unloaded, and got to the cashier, I was told that they'd only pay me $3.50 per 100lbs. Not only that, but the 2 employees I had spoken to before both denied ever saying that it was $6.50. One lady even told me that I must not have heard or understood them because they haven't paid $6.50 since early May. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and leaving bad reviews on every form of social media and review forums.
I feel cheated, stolen from, and lied to. Absolutely crooked folks working up here, don't ever go here.
I have been to a lot of metal recycling places and this one is by far the best! top notch service and a friendly staff. Next time I’m in town I will be going again.
Since SA Recycling took over the yard things have gotten way better. They got rid of the old management and the new staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I got in and out very quickly and they paid me way more than their competition. I had a great experience and would recommend it to a friend.
I do a lot of recycling and coming to this yard has been an experience I will never forget. All of the workers are very helpful when I come to the yard. They have no problem helping me unload everything that I bring in and help me sort it out. They do their best to get to know their customers on a first name basis and make you feel very welcome. When I go up to get paid the woman at the window is very sweet and if you have a question about your ticket she has no problem explaining things to you. I am thankful that this yard is here and that the workers are such wonderful people!
I absolutely love Newell's,they are the nicest people,I only go to the dock.and they are cool.rob he's my main person when I visit because we swap funny stories.keep up the good work Newell's.
Any scrap yard that doesnt let you see the weight on the scales just aint right. The website says they close at 12:00pm on Saturdays, but of course it isnt correct we drove all the way across town and arrived at 11:45am only to find out they close at 11:30. The employees definately lack in customer service skills. Overall newel recycling sucks.
If you are a thief and want some fast cash, steal a car and take it here. They will violate the law with you and crush your car (without a title although required for any vehicle less than 12 years old (or else they-Newell and the thief-commit a felony). No need to worry. The cops won't do anything, the DA is afraid of them. SO you're home free. When alerted to the situation they feign stupidity (although probably not an act) or it's willful dishonesty-either way....you're clear.
I had a large load of scrap metal and this was my first time scrapping. I called around to several yards and the Lady on the phone when I called Newell was very patient and pleasant so I chose to go here. Even though I drove past several yards on my way here, I am glad I did.
I had Aluminum and Tin scrap.
Everyone there was very nice and helpful to me even though I did not know what I was doing. From the scale operator, the guys in the aluminum dept and the guy in the back with the tin scrap, they were all top notch. When I was leaving the man and lady in the office were fast and courteous and handed me my money.
I would like to thank Fabian in the aluminum area for taking his time to explain to me how everything worked and give me space to sort my clean and dirty aluminum.
IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED NICELY AND FAIRLY GO TO NEWELL.
