Great local car service shop. Reasonable prices and they won’t find or do unnecessary work. They are very kind and helpful. 10/10 would always recommend!

Oil change left the car leaking oil. Took 3 tries to get it right. Time and money for gas. Leaked oil on my driveway. They could not get it up. Tried twice. Finally owner is supposed to send someone next week to try to get it up. Not a good thing. A new house driveway and aggrevation.

Very friendly staff, clear information on What is required for your service and the price for the service was less than dealership.

I don't think I've met more honest repair shop ever. I sat there for 40 minutes and watched every customer be taken care of like they were the only person in the shop. It went from someone having something wrong with her tire and the person calibrating it where I know in another place, they would've charged it and bought a new part. One individual was a regular and the guy gave me a discount because that person comes there all the time. I don't live in Fernandina, but I was driving here to see friends from Naples and had an accident and they repaired the bumper and took care of some things and basically said I didn't need that part and that there was no charge. I can tell why they were so busy but honestly, I've never seen a more professional and friendly staff at an auto repair place

This review should have happened a couple years ago but I just recalled it was worth the effort after scrolling the map and seeing this place come across my screen... So ahhh what the heck here we go. I call on probably a Thursday the week prior to set up an "appointment" for the next week. They tell me to come in bright and early on Tuesday. OK you got it. So I show up at the time they told me... I'm the only one in the parking lot. Cool. To my surprise they don't open for another 30 minutes. The shop opens and I say hey what's up I'm here for my AC in the Tahoe that's not working. Oh OK... Well that guy doesn't show up for another hour.. Cool. So I hand them the keys now thoroughly annoyed that 90 minutes of my life have been wasted and then I head to wal Mart because you know.. I don't have a ride home. I come back later. I see the car has moved. And some more time goes on. At this point I get all the way to near noon and I can't take it anymore so my boiling point with customer service across the board finally hits it's max and I shout "What's going on? Can I get an update? I scheduled an appointment for first thing and I'm sitting here wondering if I'm going to even get a whiff of an update." At this point we all keep it pretty calm and talk like adults but I'm made to look like I don't know what I'm talking about because allegedly I never booked an appointment... This was a "courtesy walk in." and then my poorly timed blow up happened right when they were reviewing my paperwork finally. So to add insult to injury I got to pay for something they couldn't even fix then as a diagnostic and I tapped out and just took it somewhere else. So to sum it all up... I get it. People and locals love this shop for some reason. It's like the T rays of automotive shops on the island. I can't give them one star because I don't think it's that serious but I've just never set up a time with an auto shop where I call the week prior and then get three different wildly absent things about the time and or nature of the appointment that should have been scheduled. And they did technically diagnose it correctly. I just cannot stand having my time wasted. So now two things will probably happen. Steve will reply to this in Angst as he does to all negative replies and come up with a well worded response to say how wrong I am and the other will be something along the lines of its preposterous that you waited 2 years to shout to the sky about this. But hey. He has that right to do so. Just like I have the right to drop this review.

We are snowbirds and heard from friends Steve Johnson automotive was the place to go for car issues. We have gone there twice and they have been outstanding to work with- knowledgeable , with very fair pricing ,very friendly and kind. They are our go to place from now on.

Visiting the island and had a nail in a tire. Steve’s had me in and out in 15 minutes. Fantastic service. Highly recommend them for any of your needs.

We have been taking our vehicles to Steve Johnson for years. They simply are the very best. Everyone one there is kind, knowledgeable and honest. Scott is always professional and genuinely does an A+ job in every way. Thad is awesome, and I wouldn't consider taking our vehicles anywhere else.

We recently moved to Amelia in 2021 and are still getting to know all of the local businesses. Based on the recommendations from two life long residents, we visited Steve Johnson Automotive to have a flat tire repaired. I called SJA and was assisted by Scott, who was warm, courteous and helpful and told me to come right over. The whole process took less than 20 minutes. I was going to go on a long road trip and was concerned about taking to the road with a "repaired" tire. Scott assured me that, once repaired, the tire would be as good as new. Instead of taking advantage of my concern to try to sell me new tires, Scott measured the thread on the tires and assured me that there was no reason to replace the tires at this time. I was greatly impressed by Scott's professionalism and service. I would not hesitate to go back to SJA for service and have been telling all my friends about this great local business. By far the most exceptional garage I have ever been to. Got me in within 24 hours, and due to 2 parts being in perfect condition, there was no need to change them, saving me $1400! They finished the job leaving the original parts in and DIDN'T charge me for them, I've never seen a mechanic order new parts on a quote and not install them. As honest as they come.

Huge thank you to the team here. My daughter and I were 5.5 hours from home on our 2nd day of vacation and they quickly helped us out even though they were absolutely slammed. We appreciate you all SO much. Thank you for saving our vacation.

We travelled here from out of town and had some starting issues. Called up the team at Steve Johnson after reading all the positive reviews from locals and travelers that needed a quality mechanic. They worked me in on same day notice and did a free comprehensive check of my battery and alternator. They tried to replicate the problem repeatedly. They further worked me in for a follow up appointment later in the week which I've cancelled as the problem has not re-presented itself. If I felt the need to get back in there, I feel sure they would do everything they could to work me in. I hope I don't ever need to consider a mechanic again during a holiday but no question I will call the Steve Johnson team if I do.

I drive Jaguar f-type and needed new tires. I got a terrific recommendation as well as a terrific price on a new set. I had quotes for other slightly lower grade tires from online, and was able to beat those prices on superior high performance tires here. The young lady who gave me the quotes was very knowledgeable and patient. Service was scheduled and done in 45 minutes in a couple days. If I did not drive a foreign car, I would certainly take it to them for all my service. Trust them for your work.

Had an issue with my rear brakes while on vacation here. The staff took great care of assessing what the issue was & worked hard to get in parts & fix in a timely manner. Would definitely use them again if need to, as we travel here frequently. Great folks & trusted service. Thx!

I took the advice of friends and neighbors & went to Steve Johnson for a second opinion after getting a very pricey quote from the dealership for my 16 year old vehicle. They identified the real problem and can fix it for about $200! I believe I have found an honest mechanic. Delighted:-)

The emergency brake malfunction light came on while I was driving home, so I pulled it into Steve Johnson’s lot and left the key. They contacted me the next morning, changed the battery and had it done by the next afternoon. So relieved and thankful for the great quick service!

The most trustworthy auto-shop! They went over and beyond to help me figure out what was wrong with my vehicle. They don't nickel and dine you and make you pay for things you don't need. They care about their costumes. I highly recommend them.

They don’t make trustworthy auto-shops like this anymore. We needed our engineer plate removed after it halfway fell off on the interstate. Mr. Johnson had us in and out within 15 minutes and a super fair price to boot! I would trust them with literally anything wrong with my car in a heartbeat…with the added peace of mind that they are charging me fairly. Thank you!!!

Excellent service and the reason why this is my "go to" repair shop! Update: Stopped to get some air in my tires. Everyone from the owner to the man who serviced my car answered all my questions. Great place to "baby" your car!! Update: Emergency battery call. Once again this business is more than outstanding....they respond immediately to an emergent problem. Thank you to my "go to" auto team.

My partner was told that if she dropped off her car overnight, it would be serviced earlier the next day. The next morning, she called the store and was abruptly told that her car would be ready at 4:30-5pm; much later in the day than we expected. No details were given and the call was ended. Only when I called 2 minutes later was I given an explanation, followed by the employee saying "yeah I don't know why she thought that" regarding leaving the car overnight etc. When we were TOLD to do so. 1 extra star for having the car ready to go around 1pm. Not disappointed about the auto service, disappointed about the customer service and basically not getting an explanation/update unless you're a man

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say thanks for the service and pleasant experience. It was easy to set an appointment and easy to communicate with someone at the shop. And when the first fix didn’t fully solve the issue, they listened to my concerns, kept working and figured it out. Car runs great now. I really appreciate the service. Will recommend to my friends and family.

These guys are the very best. They're really friendly and they know what they're doing. Having recently moved to Fernandina Beach from Pennsylvania I was hesitant trusting anyone with my car. Steve Johnson was recommended by a couple of people who I trust and they were right. I witnessed several other customers who also had service done and they were treated well and were happy with the results that this establishment provided. So happy to have found the perfect mechanics.

Great job done. Professional and honest. Had a lube oil and filter and ask them to rotate the tires and check the brakes while they're at it. 96,000 miles on the car I expected it needed brakes. They said I have at least 40% left on the brakes. That's honest. The price was half of what I expected it to be. This will be my go-to.

Steve Johnson Automotive and their staff have treated my family as just that, for nearly thirty years. They do good work every time, I've never had reason to bring a vehicle back even once in all that time. And not only do they stand by their work, but Thad, Scott, and the crew go out of their way to help make sure their clientele are rolling down the road safely, every time. I've even known them to do routine maintenance on my vehicle while there for other services, and didn't even notice until I realized the difference the change made to my motor, because they never mentioned it, and it wasn't on the bill!

I've been using Steve Johnson's for the last year to maintain our 2 cars. These people are polite, knowledgeable and the rates are reasonable. Things get done quickly. Great prices on tires too with plenty of brands to select from.
