Manager “Bam” was very unprofessional and rude over a refund for a service that was clearly not done! I should’ve recorded a video of how disgusting he was behaving.

I always go to Lockhart to get my oil change and other maintenance done. Today I requested an alignment because my car keeps going to left and right. I paid $100 dollars for this. After driving my car back home from the shop, it STILL had the same as before. I brought it back by their request for a test drive. They offered to “re-do it”. However, I start work in 10 minutes - I didn’t have time to get it done “again”. Manager “BAM” said “go somewhere for your alignment, the smoother my job is the better.” He was upset I wanted a refund for the $100 alignment. He then told Kathy to write on my receipt that I “refused” the service, but I stated multiple times I don’t have time because of WORK. He then told Kathy to put on my paper, “she’s NOT welcomed back here for any service.” I said “Wow! That’s very professional of you.” He replied saying “thank you, I know!” He was going back and forth with me. “Manager Bam” was very rude and condescending over a REFUND. No accountability and disgusting behavior. Bam was very unprofessional and gave TERRIBLE customer service.. Kathy should be the manager, she’s a way better representation of Lockhart!

We found ourselves stranded in uptown Lake Placid in late afternoon on a Friday, just up the street from Lockhart’s garage on Interlake Blvd. After several attempts to try to start our car by boosting it to no avail, my husband walked to Lockhart’s & two gentlemen promptly came to rescue us. It wouldn’t start so they had us leave our contact info with their office & said they would take care of it. We called a neighbor for a ride & in no time got a call from Lockhart’s that the problem was our starter. They had ordered one, gave us the estimate & thought they would have our car back on the rode the next day. By mid morning Saturday we received a call that it was ready! We are pleased to say GOOD JOB & THANK YOU for the great service! 👍🏻

Just experienced fantastic customer service, fair and reasonable prices, and a job well done. My car broke down in Lake Placid and between above and beyond service and a recommended part from Oreillys Auto parts on US 27, I was referred to Lockhart Automotive where I received the best service I have ever had. This is definitely 5 star service. I wish we could clone these owners. 110% service satisfied. Original problem misdiagnosed by 3 previous auto locations. Im amazed by their service. My car purrs like a kitty cat. Thank you!

I will not go there because the owner is a hateful and rude. His mechanis are very good and do a good job.

A hidden gem in Lake Placid, the people that work there are knowledgeable, engaged and very helpful. They showed me everything that needed to be done on my vehicle, even allowed me to watch the work!! As far as price is concerned, not an issue! Got more for less than elsewhere!! Highly recommend, just go in and talk to them they are great !

Hands down the best mechanic service I’ve ever gotten. They new exactly what they were doing and got my car fixed quick and priced very fair. The team was friendly and professional. I will only take my car here from now on

Well I'm from Georgia went to see my aunt in Lake Placid my brakes started scrubbing I went to them they charge me $900 to do brake shoes and rotors got home break started scrubbing took it to my mechanic he said they forgot to put the Clips in the brake pads that's very dangerous now they won't even talk to me

I want to thank the store manager Bam and Kathy for the excellent service. I’m new in town and my neighbor highly recommended this shop. And they far exceeded my expectations. Thank you so very much. I won’t miss the salt and snow!!

Brought my Miata to them to fix a brake problem. They replaced my master cylinder, brake booster, and left rear caliper at a super reasonable price. They were able to work with O’Reilly’s in LP to get my caliper replaced as it was under warranty. They were communicative with updates and super polite and the environment overall seemed great and everyone was helpful. Definitely going back here for anything in the future! Kathy and Bam helped me.

I took my new to me truck here from recommendations, I'm glad I did. Had a rear main seal leak and coolant leak on a 4x4 Ford f150. The mechanic did an outstanding job. My truck is no longer leaking, the driveway is clean and she's running great. I would not hesitate to recommend this shop.

I recently had some pretty extensive work done to a vehicle of mine at this establishment. I had heard good things about the work that they do and that they were reasonably priced. I made a good choice. They were excellent. Had my car for a few days and kept me updated the whole time. I was quoted with a more than fair price for all the work I needed done. The customer service was great too. Just an all around excellent, small town repair shop. I would highly recommend this establishment.

My car's alternator died on a Friday night - had it towed to Lockhart Auto Care. Slept in the car until morning. Bam, the store manager, said he would try his best to have the alternator replaced same day, since I was 80 miles from home. Well, Bam and his crew pulled it off and I was back on the road by noon! Price was reasonable, service was excellent. I recommend 100%.

My car wouldn’t start after a cross country trip hauling a trailer. I feared the engine had been damaged. On Monday morning I called Lockhart Auto repair to help. They contacted Jason towing and had my car in the shop within an hour. Within another hour they diagnosed my problem as a bad battery which surprised me because my car would light up when I tried to start it but it would not turn over the engine. After everything, I had my car back that afternoon. I thought I was going to spend thousands on engine repair but it only cost me a tow, a new battery and labor. I definitely recommend them.

They were friendly and listened to my car concerns. But suggested I take my car to the dealership. As they felt it was out of their ability. I appreciate them not giving me the run around and being direct that I should in fact take it to the dealership for a proper diagnosis.

Saw a lot of reviews about this Bam person. Well, let me just say, this guy is the real deal! Thought I was facing a $1000+ repair bill, Bam found that the problem was totally unrelated and fixed it in just ten minutes! To the owners, do not lose this employee. People like this CAN NOT be replaced! Anytime I have an issue with one of my vehicles in the future, I'm bringing it to Bam at Lockhart Auto. Thank you Bam!

100% hands down the most painless mechanic experience I’ve had in the last decade! Best I’ve had in Florida. The service was fast. They informed me every step of the way until my vehicle was back in my hands. Oh and the pricing was amazing too. If you’re in highlands county and need service done to your vehicle run don’t walk to Lockhart. 🏎️🏎️🏁

Heard a noise from under the truck's hood the day before leaving for 2 days of interstate travel. A friend recommended Lockhart. They took a listen and said to bring the truck back after their lunch and they would diagnose and fix it. Turns out it was a water pump going bad- which would have stranded us on the interstate. They fixed it that day so we did not have to delay our trip. Bam, Kathy, and everyone else were so helpful. Will be back if we need any other automotive services when we are in the area.

Purchased a vehicle from this company for 10,700 not even a week later two leaks exposed themselves. I addressed the wetness and gunk build up prior to purchase and I was informed that the vehicle was repaired correctly. This was in fact not the case. The water pump gasket leak was repaired with RTV silicone. The coolant reservoir. Was filled with water before I arrived. As well as the power steering with ATF fluid. Very shady business I’ve called several times they refuse to speak to me and I quote “you bought a used vehicle what do you expect” they offer no attempt for resolving. I bought this vehicle 6 days ago!! I have yet to hear from the owner William. I’m very disgusted with how they do business. Be very cautious they are the definition of sleezy car dealer.

Never got a call from them about a quote or even that it was ready. They replaced the starter but days later it had the same issue. Took it back, Charged me for their ‘labor’ but did nothing and could not tell me why it wouldn’t start. Learned not take my truck back there. Update: the guys at jiffy lube found that I had a bad terminal connection and fixed it. Wish I’d gotten an oil change instead of turning to mechanics. So it goes

Some of the best customer service I’ve ever had! One of the associates, Bam, fixed our brakes; they were having problems. He showed me what was going wrong and fixed it in a timely manner. He was very friendly. Car works great now! The place has a small town feel to it; they care about their customers. It’s very refreshing.

I just drove up, they asked what was wrong. I told them I had a tire with a leak. They took me right away and in no time I was back on the road. Excellent service and a good price for the fix. I will definitely go back there again.

The men were very professional and knowledgeable. Everyone was kind and helped my husband and I quickly so we were able to get back on the road at a very reasonable price. We will definitely be coming back for our car care. Thank you.

We broke down on hwy 70 with our camper. We had our vehicle towed to Lockhart. They worked on it right away and had it done before closing. They went above and beyond when they brought their personal truck out to tow our trailer and give us and our dogs a ride to their shop to get our vehicle. I highly recommend them.

I have been a customer of Lockhart's for 12 years. I have grown to know the mechanics and even though Doug, the owner is normally grumpy, I liked him. Recently, I took my pickup in for an oil change. Doug wasn't there when I arrived and one of his senior mechanics assigned the work to a new employee that I had never seen before. I normally stand at the service desk and watch the work because it interests me. I noticed that the new employee didn't seem familiar with Ford trucks and required instruction from the other mechanics. When the work was finished he brought the truck around front for me to take home. He wiped the door handle and steering wheel off with a very oily rag. As I mentioned Doug was not there so I cleaned off the oil myself and went home. When I parked in the driveway at home, I noticed that a panel under the engine was hanging down nearly to the ground. It was in danger of being ripped off. I called the shop. By this time, Doug had arrived and I was able to talk to him. I started to explain the problem to him and half way thru, the call was dropped. I called back and Doug told me to bring the truck back in. When I arrived and before I could even begin to talk, Doug ripped into me and told me that I had disrespected him and that I should get out of his shop and never come back. Needless to say, that is exactly what I did. Other than the dropped call, I have no idea what set him off but he doesn't need to be in a business that serves the public.

My Ford Explorer needed a ABS tune ring on the left rear axle... first they replaced the ABS sensor which I didn't need for $135.00 then they told me I needed to replace my axle $275.00 + $250.00 labor for a new tune ring.....Ford sells the part for $36.00 and installs it for $172.00 not the $500.00 Lockhart quoted. Had the work done by Ford.....These guys are clueless when it comes to repairing anything!!!!! Tune rings are a very common problem with 2006 - 2010 Ford Explorers rear axles a competent mechanic would have known this...stay far away from these guys unless you want to pay for their education.
