I had my car break down on the highway and had it towed into this shop. The people were very quick and I enjoyed the shop. It only took about 1 hour to fix my car!

Only place I’d trust to take my car to. Manny and his team are experts on automotive care. They fixed my car and got me back on the road. Thanks guys

Took my GMC terrain 2019 to the sixth street automotive, the staff are very friendly very informative very knowledgeable after doing the assessment of the issue they placed a call to inform me of the issue and give me the option of accepting the repairs or declining the repair they were kind enough to gave me the repair total cost and options for finance help agencies . Highly recommend them for all your car repairs needs very friendly staff very fair competitive pricing. Reasonable pricing

I am so grateful to the mechanics at Sixth Street Automotive! My car’s engine light went on right in front of their garage, I was barely able to roll into the lot. After explaining I travel a good bit each day to and from work they immediately took a look, were able to run some tests, and had me out the door good as new in under an hour, and were very reasonably priced!

I was a loyal customer for years, And for some reason just put up with the way the guy at the front desk behaves. (The younger man with short hair and a large arm tatoo of a clock, who we'll refer to as Mr. Personality from here on out) He is incredibly rude and offputting. He acts absolutely flummoxed if you ask him any questions and he refuses to speak more than a word or two, even when he should be giving you a rundown of what work was done on your vehicle. I took my truck in to have something fixed, a week later a new problem arose, in the same area the work was done, and I asked Mr. Personality about it. He said it's unrelated but bring it in anyways. When I went back to pick it up and asked what the problem was he just repeated "We warrantied it" multiple times when I tried to get details on the work performed. I took the truck to Jimmys automotive and they confirmed that the problem I was having was still happening on the "we warrantied it" work that 6th street did. If not for Mr. Personality and his rude and unwelcoming behavior I would have continued being a loyal customer in perpetuity out of habit alone. Why do they continue to allow him to be the face of the business??

Can't comment on service because I was refused. I was referred to 6th Street by the local Auto Parts store when my airbag sensor light came on & they were unable to get a code on their diagnostics. The very rude front desk guy told me to go to a dealer because they don't do airbag work, and refused to even run a diagnostic for me. Went across the road to AutoZone where a very friendly young man was able to diagnose & print a report in about 2 minutes. Mind you I wasn't looking for 'free', I would have paid 6th Street. But the dude with the 'tude wasn't interested.

Updating my review due to recent interaction: Called 1:00 PM 7/1/24 to ask about getting on the schedule for a transmission fluid and filter change on a vehicle. The gentleman who answered the phone advised the next time slot would be next Tuesday 7/9/24. We spend the next few minutes going back and forth as I was trying to ask if I could call up at the end of any given day and see if there were any cancellations in the schedule to see if I could get in earlier. He kept advising he had enough work to last til next Tuesday, which I guess meant even if there was a cancellation it wouldn't mean I would get seen sooner, but since he didn't say that I reworded it this way, got the same response, tried another way, got the same response. I gave up that tactic after a few back and forths and just asked for a quote on the pricing and he said he couldn't give it to me. He asked if I wanted to schedule the appointment and I told him not without knowing how much it would cost and I ended the conversation. He may have just had an off day but it was a super negative experience and I believe the front desk folks I used to speak to regularly in the past have moved on to other places. Original review: Ever since my car fell out of warranty I have used 6th Street Automotive. I have had three or four repairs they have handled for me over the past five years. (Motor mount replacement, some weird groaning noise when turning, replacing AC compressor, and most recently a clutch slave cylinder (don't ask me what it is, it affects your shifting)). Each time I have been treated with patience and respect, with multiple options for repairs explained. There is NEVER any pressure to have work performed. None of the 'well the car is on the lift so we need to do it now'. Just matter of fact 'this is what it is, we can do it or not'. The most recent visit is the one that prompted me to finally post a review. I had some transmission issues that were preventing me to be able to shift my manual transmission into gear, rendering the car basically useless. After dropping it off first thing in the morning, they had called me back around noon and advised that they found a component (clutch slave cylinder) that was leaking. They were upfront and said that while there was a chance other components may have failed in the transmission as well, this was the first one they were able to immediately diagnose as undeniably faulty and recommended replacing that first before incurring more diagnosis/labor charges that may not be needed. Thankfully that was the only faulty part and the car shifts beautifully. Even though the part had to be ordered I had my car back in only three days from dropping it off. The price to get my transmission's clutch slave cylinder replaced? Just under $200.00 (obviously this will vary from car to car). Anyone who has had a transmission fails before knows that is basically nothing. (I had to get a transmission rebuild for a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was $1,800.00 in Jacksonville!) The fact that I walked in with transmission symptoms and walked out with a fixed car for that little proves to me that this business is more concerned about customer service, fixing the real issues and not making things up, and goodwill than their profit margins. Obviously everyone's experiences and costs for repairs will be different based on their vehicle and issues, but over the past few years I have always been satisfied with the pricing and quality of work at 6th Street.

On our way home to Atlanta, our radiator busted. Pulling a 30-ft camper complicated our situation. Tyler and team diagnosed and fixed our problem within 3 hours at a reasonable price. We were very grateful for great service at a time we needed it very much. Thanks, guys!

they did a great job at helping me with my car, and it is lowered so they are able to work on modified vehicles. the problem i took it for was worse than expected so they hooked me up to fix it all for a great price and great service, they always answered the phone and had a good answer when i called or came to ask they even let me have my keys back for a second to check my car out when i got home and realized i had puddles of oil all over the driveway lol (not the issue i took it for but it was a simple fix i did myself in the driveway of the shop) definitely recommend them they got my car done super fast

This is not against anyone else at this company except the service I received from the front desk guy! I had no interaction with anyone else, so I don’t want to put this negative review onto the whole place, just that man! So, whoever the man at the front counter is, is the most rude and Inconsiderate person I’ve ever had to deal with! Not to mention, is lying to customers saying that their vehicle has been looked at when it never even was and charging them anyway! I have heard nothing but bad things about this place, and not because of anyone else except, “ the rude man at the front counter”. And against my better judgement, I figured I’d give them a shot because I was in a bad situation and needed assistance quickly. Needless to say, I had to pay $75 for them to not even look at my vehicle and proceed to tell me I needed a WHOLE NEW ENGINE!! My vehicle had not even been moved from where the tow truck dropped it off at and when I asked what was wrong, he said “it ran hot so you need a whole new engine”. I asked what caused it to do this and run hot and he wouldn’t answer me until I asked the same question again. And he tells me that since it ran hot they can’t tell what caused it because it caused too much damage to know now. I Took my vehicle to another place and all I needed was EGC coolant! Far cry from a new 5,000 dollar engine! But then again if he had actually had a mechanic look at my vehicle, none of this would have likely happened.

Red flag...red flag when you go into a business for a diagnosis on your vehicle at 9 in the morning and the so called office manager tells you it could be several hours before they could get to it then proceeded to tell me they go to lunch from 1 till 2 so would be after that probably before it was looked at then proceeded to ask me what was wrong with it. Well duh what am I paying you for. So I said what I thought it might be and withen less than a hour I got a call from the oh so rude office manager saying my truck was ready for pick up. Upon arrival back at the business he had me a print out saying exactly what I had said I thought it might be to the tune of 1400.00 for replacement of the upper control arms and lower ball joints. Also on the print out was several other issues that they so call discovered. When I ask if I could start with just the lower ball joints he blew like it was a problem. Needless to say my truck is at another shop this morning and guess what no lower ball joints issue or control arms. The tire on the driver side which I told him was the side with the noise all but fell off there was so much play in the tire. Well long story short it was the hub completely shot. So if your a women that ask to be a mechanic at the shop that you where dropping your vehicle off for a diagnostic don't cause they will take what you say and run with it then charge you $74.49 for what you think it might be. Ill know better next time ..no trust in this world anymore. The owner was nice but for his benefit he needs to ditch the so call office manager. They are closed for the weekend but you better believe they will here from me come Monday for a refund. Do better office manager...your just hired help do the job your hired to do..or maybe not...😞 And if there was a 0 review it would be a double alt one for the office manager...

This morning I stopped by to see if I could get some air in my tire and the heavy set man told me that he doesn't have time to help me and he said he doesn't get paid to put air in tires, I was very unwelcome to be at your establishment and I left the place with a flat tire and I will never do business with this place as long as your employees are treated the potential customers like that. The date was 9/6 , 8:45 am , I will go on social media and let people know about my visit with 6 Street automotive.

I have used Sixth Street Automotive for all my Van’s needs, so I must say that I am highly disappointed with this last visit. I got my Van towed to them and they said it was a possible Alternator problem, mind you they replaced the Alternator twice this year already…After they went in they said, oh no it was not the Alternator after all, and my van was ready on a Thursday. Drove to work the next day Friday in Jacksonville and the van cut off doing the same exact thing!!!! Called them and they said have it towed and they will reimburse towing and fix it. Turns out, it was the Alternator. Not only did I have to pay for another Alternator, and additional labor, but they lied iand refused to reimburse towing. I will NEVER take any more of my vehicles here. If I could I would give them ZERO stars!!

The reception for my business was outstanding. Excellent customer service. The mechanics that worked on my 2011 Dodge 1500 were professional and amazing at their work. I would give this outstanding business 10 stars if I could. The entire team does what they can to get your vehicle back to you. ALL of their team works together to get you back on the road. Thank you 6th street auto. Unbelievable professionals.

We haven't had a single bad experience yet. They've handled several things for both family vehicles (and even offered to do the dirty work of making some warranty calls for us). Always professional and very reasonably priced. EDIT: The above statement was made some 3 years ago. I continue to have good experiences. After a recent tricky situation that caused some possible anxiety, they were able to show continued professionalism and even answered some tough questions. They worked with me and ensured the situation was taken care of--even one of the shop mechanics was able to talk professionally with me. Those are the situations that separate a good business with a great business. Thank you!

This place works on our 92 suburban and they always do a good job and don't keep us waiting for too long. I'm so happy with their work and how well our truck runs. These people know what they're doing. Trustworthy and timely.

My parents have been customers for several years, & they make arrangements to bring it to Sixth Street Auto at the first sign of any vehicle malfunction, minor or major as most recent was replaced their 2003 Chevy Tahoe transmission. Nothing ever seems to take too long for repairs, nor red flags suspected that of catywompus business practices, & they run things right. ...the first time. I believe that this deserves mentioning or vehicle owners, as well as those auto mechanics who are well deserving of his wages. 😊

Highly recommend! They went out of their way to help me out when my car overheated while driving to North Carolina for the holidays. They were able to look at it the same day I brought it to them, install a new part on the same day they estimated they could, and then had the car fixed by the day I was returning to Florida. Thank you Sixth Street Automotive!!!!

I was on my way home from picking up my son who just graduated from parris island marine bootcamp early due to the hurricane. I had stop for gas grab some lunch and my car starter stopped working . Got towed to sixth street automotive cause the tow guy said they are the best in town well he wasn't lying . The management and the mechanics are just flat out fantastic I highly recommend these guys . If it wasnt for there quickness and understanding I wouldn't be home . I got an excellent price for the work and they always updated me on how things are going . I really do appreciate it all of you guys are just awesome people . Super friendly, hard working , and very much reliable. 100% would go back to them if I lived closer . But if i ever come by that way again i promise you I'll stop by just to say thank you so much for getting my son and me home ..

The staff is friendly and they keep you updated on the progress of your vehicle. If anything comes up that was talked about they call and inform you about the issue and won't fix it until they get your consent. Decent price for a mechanic shop they do good work

If you don't know about this place, please check them out the next time you need vehicle assistance. They are honest, fast, thorough, and just amazing! I can't say enough good things about my car's experience with them!

I brought my lowered Japanese Imported car into the shop and they didn’t flinch at working on it. I called plenty of other shops that told me to call this other place and that other place. I called Sixth Street and the first time we spoke, they said to bring it in, they gave me a quote on the part I needed as well as when it should arrive before I even confirmed I would bring it to them. We ran into a little problem though when I came to pick it up with something shaking on the front axle (the front axle was getting worked on) so I turned it around and they started looking at it again right then and there. They ended up having to order another part so I went ahead and asked for an oil change as well. And for the inconvenience of it not being 100% when I picked it up, the work and the oil change were on them. I would for sure bring my car into them again and again. Very Professional staff.

Recommend YES. I have had the AC in both my truck and car fixed there at very reasonable prices. They are starting to get more and more business, so turn around times might change from time to time. Truck fixed in one day, 11 months ago no issues at all. Car fixed in a few days, months ago still good. Honest and far with their prices. I’ve worked on vehicles almost 40 years and now some repairs I can no longer do and 6th street has of yet tried to fix what’s not wrong or change the estimated cost of repair. I hope they keep up what is working now, it is hard to find a good honest shop in Macclenny or Jax for that matter

Mr. Jim, Mac and staff are the people to see when it comes to repairing cars! I live in another city (an hour and 15 minutes to be exact) and I don’t trust anyone else to get the job done but R&B automotive. This company has dealt with me with two cars. Not to mention I am a college student and a single parent. So, yes their very affordable. AND HONEST! Definitely recommend to others 😊

I have had several thousand dollars worth of work done here on many different vehicles. Transmission replaced, A/C work, wiring harness, all work has been done on time and stayed fixed, with no issues. Highly recommended.

My car has been at this shop since Thursday afternoon. It is now Monday afternoon. No one has called me. I went up there earlier this morning and they said they would give me a call no later than the morning of today. Well they close in about an hour and 15 minutes. I have heard nothing from them! Poor communication and very unprofessional! They don't realize it but they are hindering my mode of transportation! Don't leave your car with them. Stay there until it is fixed! I will be doing that tomorrow!
