Always have the worst produce in town. Have stopped getting any produce from here completely as it’s usually moldy and lacking in selection and go to Bishops instead. Alright for everything else, but needs an overhaul to produce department.
If I could rate negative stars, I would. This store was always a bit "unfriendly", however, it has gotten so much worse recently. I dread having to shop here and will drive out of the way to another Big Y if time allows. Do better, Guilford. Please! The cashier today was the rudest and most unpleasant, there were 2 employees stocking (different areas) that got angry when asked if we could just grab something quick. No need to get annoyed, angry, or give nasty looks guys!
I love big Y overs Stop & Shop that’s a given. They have a great wing bar and much more variety. I have to say, though I like the Clinton big Y better than the Guildford one if you go to the deli at the Guilford Big y they take your name and your order and you can continue shopping and go back and pick up your stuff in a littlebasket. The only problem with the Guilford big Y is the deli is slow and you’ll be standing there for a long time.
Stopped in to grab some food and beer. Im from florida i wish we had Big Y in florida it would destroy Publix. Everything was so clean and fresh. Prices were comparable to Fl prices.
I ordered a pizza I think the guys names was Zack and he was so helpful and so nice and I have to say the best pizza we have ordered from here and we have been ordering for years, the pizza was so much better then past orders. He was so kind. Can't say enough about him. So helpful Thank you.
Ive ordered a party size pizza for my family every two weeks from here . I usually do 1/3 toppings and pay the extra amount. 2 weeks ago it went fine this week apparently they are not allowed to do this and i was told they never have ! Which is a lie i have receipts to prove it! This is very misleading information. We are paying customers and should be receiving what we ask /pay for . I shouldn’t be given a different answer every week from the staff. Very unprofessional
Worst grocery store in area. Not only do the racially profile my girlfriend. They harass while I'm trying to use the self checker. The manager there with glasses and the blonde women in the front Specifically.
Had a very unpleasant experience with an employee named Diane in self checkout. I feel this treatment was racially motivated so if you are a person of color or different ethnicity I would beware of negative treatment
Wonderful experience always! The staff is wonderful. The produse is fresh. I often get the high-quality sushi, very fresh, with creative choices. Customer service has helped me many times, and they are very gracious and solve the problem. I use the app to scan and check out it is so fast and easy. My receipts go straight to my email so I can review them later if I need to. Because of this, I have left my phone on the cart, and someone kindly turned it in. Customer service was helpful with returning my phone as well and with a smile.
This review is specifically for the florist department at the Guilford Big Y. I apologize that I forgot the woman’s name, but the florist working the morning of 6/28 & 6/29/23 was phenomenal! I came in panicked as I needed 3 specific flower arrangements for a funeral since the person who was going to do them could no longer do them! The flowers looked so beautiful for the occasion and surrounded the urn perfectly. The grieving widow was so happy! I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone to get their flowers and arrangements at Big Y in Guilford!
This location is easily one of my favorites. They consistently have great produce, a large selection of dry goods and a fantastic seafood counter who is always ready to help. Recently, they helped me cater a large party by steaming (and individually wrapping in foil) 55 lobsters. Thanks to an insulated cooler and the diligence of the seafood counter to wrap the lobsters, all were still hot over an hour later!
Shop Rite in Clinton has a better selection, better prices, and is better stocked. Some of the produce I find here goes bad within a day or two far too often, suggesting that it may have been old on the shelf or exposed to too much moisture. I frequently leave here not being able to find some of the items on my shopping list. On the positive side, employees here are friendly and helpful.
Parking lot is usually very full but once you're in the store, its easy to find what you need. Its clean, well organized, prices are within the norm given the economic climate we are in, so a little steep, but the selection and quality are excellent! My only real criticism is at check out. They are a bit under staffed(no thanks to covid, no doubt) and lines have been a little long the last few times I've been there. I will continue to do the bulk of my shopping at BigY. Its reliablly stocked, close to my home and great quality.
I always get my fish and seafood at the Guilford Big Y - they serve the freshest fish and its a pleasure to be helped by Leslie Corey. She is friendly, service oriented and has a positive, upbeat attitude. Leslie patiently explains all the specials for that week and helps me select the choicest piece of fish. Big Y must be proud of employee like Leslie!!
Nice & Neat community super market. Selections are very good. It has outstanding professional departments such as fish market and pizzeria. Staffs are kind and professional as well.
Decent looking store inside but they need to change their bottle recycling center rules. I speak from experience as I've been a Service Clerk and handled bottle machines. They currently close down the recycling area completely from 1-2 pm. This is at a time when the machines are in high demand due to lack of other areas being open for recycling. They should simply clean them for 15 minutes before opening hours and after closing, in addition to short 5-10 minutes cleaning during mid day and perhaps afternoon.

I shopped for my family. We live in an area that got hammered by the storm. No power next day I realized my food would all go bad so I brought it in to return it. Obviously their refrigerators are running. Everything I bought to return was in stock.
John refused to accept my items. All items are now bad. He belittled me and told me I should have my husband do a better job. I guess preventing a power outage. Not sure what he meant but it was insulting and disgusting and sexist. Then he told me to go to stop in shop. Literally.
I don't think I have EVER left a professional establishment feeling so mistreated and personally attacked.
My husband and I contacted corporate after this situation, and thankfully big y understood and apologized for Johns actions. I will continue to shop at big y. Thanks for listening to your customers big y!
A good supermarket with decent prices and helpful staff. Our preferred store for groceries. They and the customers that I saw were all wearing masks and being careful to stay the appropriate distances from each other.
We are glad to have a place to go where everyone is working to keep each other safe.

Absolutely, ridiculously overpriced on everything. After today, I will never shop here again. I give one star only because yes - the employees are always very nice and the seafood counter is far superior in comparison to the other local market. Doesn't make up for the outrageous prices on everything.
Love this store they always have what I'm looking for. Love the fresh salad bar, sushi and soups you can grab and go. Staff super nice. The only thing I don't like is the parking lot.
Me and a sports group from my school raided money for our local food bank. Using this money we traveled down to big y and started cleaning up the shelves, I mean really emptying them. Like a vampire in a blood bank we went crazy, filling up cart after car, bag after bag and when all was said and done, they did not complain. They were welcoming of us, we backed up lanes and blocked off isles but they did not care. They even opened up a whole new lane just for us and the manager spent time helping us bag and was really nice about it. They made our work seem really worth it and were very helpful, thank you!
The store was clean and lot of different produce nice and fresh and awesome did the sushi for lunch and the best sushi I have a definitely recommend it and also pretty good pizza .
