Texaco has never let me down over many, many years. I am however disappointed that they no longer are connected to AAA towing. They still honor AAA for a labor discount, but if stranded in Guilford, CT don't expect prompt service from AAA. Expect hours instead of minutes.

Guilford Texaco is one of those repair shops that you can rely on. They deliver fast, reliable service. This shop is one of the elites in the area. Top-notch super professionals. If you need your car towed on a flat bed truck, they will come quickly. Tthey are efficient, fast, and very friendly.

The worst,most rude,overpriced,unenthusiastic,unkind service station I have ever had the displeasure of bringing my vehicle into. I think they may just make up their prices on the spot. Very unpleasant,would give 0 stars if I could.

I would add counseling. My Jeep (Rosie) has been cared for here all of her 20 yrs. Now I get advice on the value of a repair, longevity, car value, etc. Jimmy is always willing to take the time to ensure that I understand any problem.

Recently had 4 new tires put on my car. Totally satisfied with level of friendliness and professionalism. Casey was great to deal with. Will be back with any future auto needs. A pleasure to deal with this small business.

I have trusted Guilford Texaco with my cars since high school (I graduated in 2005). They are convenient, friendly and honest. The dealership wanted me to pay 3k for a whole new exhaust system- they fixed it for $500.

Efficient, caring and easy. My Emissions test could not have gone smoother. These folks were the 3rd place I went. They have an awesome process and I think a dedicated bay to crank out emissions. I've always felt like I was bothering other shops. They also seem like a really caring and fair service spot too. Couldn't reccomend more highly!

My wife and I are from Rhode Island. We were on a road trip to visit friends in New Jersey when our car started bucking and smoking. We were able to pull over into a parking lot off of the highway where a couple of strangers at different points in time came out to recommend this place both stating that it was “great” and “honest”. We were about 1/8 of a mile from it so we made it there (luckily) and even though they were busy a mechanic came right out, diagnosed, and fixed our car within an hour! They were extremely kind and efficient. Without them I’m not sure we would’ve ever made our trip. Very grateful and would recommend this place to anyone! The customers there were in and out and even talked to us about how happy they were taking their cars there! Highly recommend!

Texaco took me in on super short notice for an alternator repair, fixed up the car and sent me on my way within a couple hours. Super great customer service, super timely repair. Highly recommend using them for your car repairs!

I was very happy with the professionalism and service of the entire staff at Guilford Texaco today. I went for emissions testing and the entire process took 10 minutes. I had barely settled in in their nice waiting room when a technician came in and told me I was all set. I strongly recommend Guilford Texaco.

Absolutely worst towing been waiting for 4 hours for a AAA tow and still nothing but excuses on how busy they are. AAA is worse they said to me we have a lot of issues with Guilford Texaco but can find better service providers and I said pay them more. But doesn’t give them a break don’t take AAA if you can’t service it. I’m sure my call like everyone else who has AAA takes a back seat to people paying full boat.

The women at the front desk were very nice, helpful, and always smiling! I did not have an appt. But was told if dropped the car off they would see if the could squeeze me in. No sorry can't do but we will try. I like the positiveness!! Great business.

I have had work done twice here and both times they were able to take my car the next day, and completed service within a few hours of my appointment. The staff is friendly and the building is well maintained.

Guilford Texaco’s Paige and Bubba saved my life today, figuratively and possibly literally. I had a slow leak in one of my tires…and it’s Saturday on the shoreline! You can’t drive far on the interstate with your low-pressure light on. Paige and Bubba assured me they’d squeeze me in and they did. Removed a small unidentified shard (wood? metal?) and repaired the tire and I was good to go. Another time, my DH was stranded with a vehicle dead of unknown causes. Guilford Texaco towed it and repaired it and off he went. Appreciate these folks so much. True community service. Expert repairs. Exceptional hours and availability. Highly recommend.

I brought the car in so they could fix the leaking valve cover from the previous year's valve adjustment they had done. I was not happy about the leaking valve cover but Texaco said they would take care of it. My dealer had told me the valve cover was leaking oil and the front brakes were due. I figured since Texaco was fixing the valve cover at no charge I would give them the brake business so I had them do the front brakes and check the rear ones. Since all 4 tires were going to be off the car, I asked if they could rotate the tires. The girl said it would be $36. I mentioned the dealer only charges $25 so that was kind of expensive and she said it would still be $36 so I said don't do the alignment. All the tires were off the car already, they were basically telling me that they would put them back in the same place for free or for $36 they would reinstall them in the rotated position. While I was paying she said they did the rotation anyhow and only charged $18. I just left it at that. I will say, I've been coming here for about 25 years and they've been pretty good over the years. This trip was very disappointing.

Can’t say enough about how great this company is. I’ve been going to Guilford Texaco for 20+ years. I have had cars towed,repaired, as well as purchased about 6 vehicles from Jimmy and co. They are ALWAYS fair, always reasonable and always stand behind their work. I would not recommend bringing your vehicle ANYWHERE else. (except Guilford Texaco north) Thank you to all the employees at Guilford Texaco, I truly feel like you treat me like family, and I’ve seen the same with other customers anytime I’ve been in there. I wish I could give them 1000 stars. They deserve it!!! Thank you for always keeping me safe on the road!!

I have been a customer of Guilford Texaco for a while now. They have always been very up front, honest and clear about what work needs to be done and the costs associated with that work. Their work has been consistently good and generally done faster than expected. I genuinely feel they work WITH me to get repairs completed, not just to get my money. This has never been more true than my most recent service where a faulty part caused me to bring my car back to be repaired for something they already fixed. I told them I was bringing the car back because the same issue was occurring. They took it, checked it out, found it was a faulty part, and covered it under warranty. I didn't have to ask, they simply took care of it. This is the mark of a business that earns 5 star reviews. They do good work very consistently, and when there is a problem with that work (however rarely) they make sure it is made right. I don't think you can go wrong choosing to have them work on your car.

I have been having my car's serviced by Jim's team for 17 years. They are kind, understanding, always keep me informed and excellent time wise getting your car in and out. Great prices too. Here was my real test. Drove my car home after one service time and didn't feel right. Called the station the very friendly gal said bring it right back. They corrected the problem and never charged me. At times, I have had the mechanic come out and talk to me. I have referred several people over the years and everyone has loved them and you will too.

Always have my work done here and it’s always done in a timely fashion, but not rushed and poorly done. Casey and Paige are friendly and personable ladies so they’re the place to go if you get garage anxiety or if you’re a woman who worries about how shops may treat you. The owner Jim is a great guy too, and he’ll always tell you the truth about your vehicle. He’ll even help guide you to the best option for your situation, and wouldn’t take money for repairs if he doesn’t believe the amount of repairs or the cost is beneficial to you unless it’s what you wanted. No pushiness here at all. I had my truck towed in late on Saturday. They diagnosed it Monday. And had it fixed by Wednesday. Most shops would’ve let my car sit there all week due to not having an appointment. The mechanics are all friendly and know how to do their job. This place is also really busy so there’s no doubt all the mechanics know how to keep up and do good work at the same time.

Just want to Thank all who really help i sat on the highway 5hrs COMPANY came to my aid professional all the way throUgh it cost me but no complainent from me ! work through it my car is a Cl550 coupe anyways to the other company that told me he was eating dinner hope you choked on whatever you eating !! Although I never post reviews I am posting this one. The personnel at Guilford Texaco were so nice and professional to me and my son recently when we were on a long trip and my check engine light started flashing. I was able to get off the highway and drive into their shop. Although busy and short-handed, they checked my car rather quickly and were able to fix it super fast so I could be on my way, and I was able to get where I was going safely and on time. I am so thankful for their help.
