We brought our cars to Laurel for years with no issues. Last fall we brought our car in because it had no heat. We were charged $535, but still no heat. We were then charged $578, but still no heat. We lost faith in Laurel's ability to fix the heat, so we brought it too another shop who repaired it (~$3000).
I wrote to Laurel requesting a refund for the money paid that did not fix the issue. Knowing that they did buy parts and spend time on the car, I would have been satisfied with getting 1/2 of my money back. The owner called me very mad, said he'd think about it and get back to me; He never called me back...and never returned my calls.
We're out over $1100 for repairs that did not fix the issue. We will not bring our cars back to Laurel again.
Thanks for working on our Infiniti FX50, parts were discontinued so the staff had to be creative and innovative to solve the problem. Thank your for your services.
They did an excellent job on my 1962 Impala. The car needed quite a bit of TLC. I felt as though the whole team was knowledgeable, priced fair, and did excellent work. They even fixed my factory air conditioning, something that hadn’t previously worked in 40+ years! One of the only places around I feel I can trust my classic car with.

Lies and deceit. Terrible communication. After a lot of calling back and forth being promised my car was going to be looked at, they turned me away after it had been sitting in their lot for days. I would give them a 0 if I could.

I stopped in for VIN verification for a vehicle, and Matt could not have been nicer and more accommodating in getting me in and out quickly. He went above and beyond when I didn’t have the cash (the state only accepts cash apparently). The high level of customer service is something I rarely experience in today’s world. Highly recommend this garage based on this experience.

A few months ago I brought my car to Laurel Automotive for an oil change while my mechanic friend was recovering from surgery. Yesterday as my friend (who happens to be an automotive instructor at a trade school) was servicing my car, he discovered Laurel Automotive’s hack job on the belly pan of my car. Apparently the technician was too lazy to remove the screws and, without consulting me, cut a hole in the belly pan so he could drain the oil! Angry and annoyed don’t begin to describe my feelings. Needless to say, Laurel Automotive will NEVER touch one of my cars again, and if you care about your car, I’d advise against bringing your vehicles there. There’s no telling what shortcuts or deceptive practices they’ll engage in to enable their laziness!!
Highly recommend Laurel Automotive, John & his team Mike & Steve all are great honest mechanic. Very knowledgeable and efficient. The service and price is right they stand behind their work. They won't do a work if not needed . I've been a loyal customer for 8yrs. Always took care of my car 2003 Acura TL. MS. PIGGY 300k & still running great. Thanks to Laurel Automotive.
I have a 2015 Volvo and had a few issues with the heat and assumed the worst. They got the car in quickly and the cost is way less than I anticipated. I could not be happier and more so I am happy to have found an honest repair shop that I will be using for all my repair needs moving forward.
Laurel Automotive Service is staffed by good mechanics who are professional and courteous. The waiting room could use some serious upgrades however I don't choose where my car is serviced by the waiting room amenities. I look for intelligent, competent, and trustworthy people. I've found them at Laurel.
I hate giving it such a low rating but one of the techs there Mike absolutely ruined my and even a few friends of mine experience. If you value your vehicle do not let him touch it. He throws a hissy fit whenever he needs to work and takes it out on the vehicles he is pulling into the bay. Absolutely a liability to have as a staff member. I went there for emissions testing and beat the Absolute snot out of my truck just pulling it into the bay. Just a complete lack of respect for other people's belongings. I would just find a different shop to bring your vehicle to.
I've always been very happy with Laurel Automotive for emissions testing. I can usually go right in and have it done in less than half an hour - this last time (on a Monday morning) I was done in 10 minutes.
I have been to Laurel Automotive several times over the last couple of years. Most recently was the work that they did on CRV’s A/C system. The job was done promptly and efficiently and at a fair price for what was needed. I’ve also had my emissions done there a couple of times and was always in and out in a short time. Just last month had an oil change and about a month later noticed a small leak. They fit me in to their schedule and took care of the issue. I am extremely pleased with the service and professionalism at this facility. Highly recommended for anyone looking for excellent work at a fair price.

Fair and friendly. After failing my emissions, a neighbor gave me their name. It was all fixed up more reasonably than I thought and when I couldn't find a ride to get car they picked me up. Small things and good service really count . Glad I found them. Definitely go back.
We have been using Laurel for many years now and have always had positive experiences. We trust that they will only recommend work that really needs to be done and that they will do the work right and at a fair price. They are also a CT emissions inspection station and never had a problem walking in and getting a test done on the spot. I gladly recommend Laurel for car repair needs with no reservations.
I called first thing in the morning about having an emissions test. When I got there they got to work right away and finished quickly. They made the whole process very painless.

I moved from Norwalk to Simsbury about 7 years ago. Laurel Automotive is excellent. They service and maintain my wife’s “nice” vehicle as well as all of my older and classic vehicles. They are HONEST and work fast and are very fair price-wise. They can fix ANY vehicle and even found parts in England for me. Nicest employees you’d want to invite to dinner. They know their stuff and their staff doesn’t turn over so they know your cars!
Brought my car in for brakes and belts. They gave me a ride to and from my house. I explained that I had an appointment to make and they assured me the car would be ready in time. I am employed in the customer service industry and they delivered !!! On time and below the estimate.

I took my Ford Fusion here to have a wheel bearing replaced. Before i arrived, i bought the part thinking i could replace it myself (decided not to when i learned a specific tool was required). When i told them i already had a part, they were fine with it. They even said the brand (Timken Wheel Bearing) was high quality and i made a good purchase.
I was referred this garage by Tim's Automotive because the design of my vehicles' wheel bearing is the old-school where a press is needed, rather than removing standard bearing-hub assembly.
I spent about 2 hours there while they worked on my car. Very professional, fast, and good customer service).
A definite recommend for vehicle repairs.
I called them to double-check that they did emissions testing; the man on the phone was SO friendly. I decided to come in for testing; met the man who took the phonecall and talked with him for a bit after I gave him the keys. I was sitting for maybe ten minutes when another man came out and told me I was all set. I was so happy with the speed my emissions testing was done, and so pleased with how super friendly both gentlemen were. I sincerely hope this review reaches them as I am very thankful for my experience!
