What clients say about Yreka Transfer Recycling in Yreka (CA)

Your business is to recycling and keeps the community clean. You follow streack laws and rules. What I experience today is not encourage recycling. Your business disriminate against outer states and minority. Streck rules, two older ladies cut rigth infront of me and you say nothing. You should pay high enough so customers from Wisconsin take truck loads of recyclable materials to your business.

Their prices are below the national average and depends on who is working is what dictates the level of customer service. But it's the only place in town so what can you do?

Great customer service, friendly crew, and love their mascot. Hard workers, working in all kinds of extreme weather. Always kind, helpful, and positive. I’ve been coming here for over 18 years and I have never had any complaints. They even raise money for SNIPS (Spay and Neuter Program for Dogs and Cats), and Habit for Humanity. We need them in Weed and Mount Shasta! Thank you for dedication to saving the planet and hard work!

Always do there best and anyone saying the didn't give you enough don't seem to understand the scales are literally checked and tested by the state so they aren't lying just sometimes we are wrong about how much we think we have. Also I have seen these guys be treated horrible by people on here claiming they were rude some where even calling these guys racial slurs and cursing at them but claim to angels in these reviews. These guys work very hard and are respectful as long as you are. Just a heads up they have to follow the law and can't take japanese bottles from crystal geyser because they don't have a the CA recycling mark. I think they do a great job and try their hardest while having to deal with some crazy things like needles in recycling, rude people, dirty recycling and exstream weather. Keep up the good work guys and remember you don't have to smile like a doll just because someone feels insecure.

In and out in 5 mins. It's all about preparation. Make sure to separate all your cans and bottles by plastic and aluminum and remove the caps before coming in. Also, if you don't want your bags back it's a little quicker! I'm 30 bucks richer and I'll be back to finish up the other half of my recyclables in a few days. Seriously, do you research and make sure you have everything prepped before you come in. They don't pay by the quantity, they pay by the pound and physical weight, so bottle caps and handles/tops need to be removed. They were gentlemen and kind, and super efficient! I think I brought in 6x40 gallon sized bags and got $30.Bottles weren't smashed down either. Not too bad IMO.

When we pulled in to unload, we had to sit for a couple minutes before anyone noticed we were there. The boy (real men pay attention and do their job) at the unloading bay had his backed turned and was on his phone. Thank you to the young man that walked over to so said child of God and showed him we were there. I am grateful that this place is here so I can recycle. Please do better.

Today my wife was completely disrespected here. She was taken advantage of on what they gave her in recycling value. She had at least a $100 in recycling and was given only $18 Dollars for everything that she turned in. Not only were they rude but the worker were using excessive curse words that made my wife feel completely uncomfortable as we are Christians. The workers were very rude leaving her with not enough bins to separate and they were having her separate unlike any other recycling businesses she has been to before. She also clairly showed them the redemption value for ca on the water bottles and they said they didn't pay that there which makes no since at all, that is what the ca redemption value is it to printed on the bottle's but yet they denied it. We have not had any problems like this with any other places we've been to. I'm terminally ill otherwise I would have handled this. We will never go here again. My wife felt not only that they ripped us off! But she felt very disrespected from the type of language the workers were using. I would expect regardless of what type of business this is you treat your customers with respect. This was all on called for. We will never use this company again and I would suggest if you are recycling do not go here unless you want to be treated with disrespect and to be ripped off.

THE BEST RECYCLING CENTER I'VE BEEN TO. THE EMPLOYEES TAKE CARE OF IT ALL FOR YOU. YOU JUST SIT BACK & RELAX & WAIT FOR YOUR TICKET. BUT JUST REMEMBER TO HAVE PLASTIC, CANS & GLASS ALL SEPARATED. AND ALL CLEAR GLASS MUST BE SEPARATED FROM COLORED GLASS ALSO DON'T FORGET TO TAKE OFF ALL THE CAPS FROM THE PLASTIC BCUZ WITH ALL THAT BEING DONE THE WAIT TIME IS NOT LONG AT ALL. EVERYONE THERE ARE ALSO VERY FRIENDLY 🥰🥰

The staff was very rude and they didn't do all my recycling they tried telling me they got that container when I seen they never put it on the scale. But we have no choice but to keep going there in a small town.

I wouldn't have given this one star if I didn't have to.. I own property in yreka and had a renter burn the inside of my house.. when I came to do cleanup I found a ton of recycling and came to turn some in to help pay for the disrespect that has been placed in my life. The staff found some undesirable things placed in cans and gave our stuff back.. understandably. My wife and I were not surprised about anything because we have been cleaning up all sorts of weird stuff. So we took and did what we should of done first.,but not knowing anything about this life style we were unaware of this sort of thing. When we came back the workers were extremely disrespectful and of our of line in there behavior towards us. So I am done with this place I have taking my stuff to sense I was 12. Great job guys.

First time visiting the Yreka Transfer Recycling Center. My recycling bin was overflowing with water bottles, and it was time to find them a new home. Thank you for the pleasant experience.

Everytime I've been to the center they have been so helpful and nice, which makes it great when they are so very busy, and waiting can be a bit of a pain. Good job guys👍👍

My experiences at the recycling & transfer stations have been very pleasant. Friendly & knowledgeable demeanor from the kind folks that keep the places operating. The remain upbeat even considering the thankless services they provide. Next time your in there give em a smile, wave & a thanks.

Worst customer service. Soooo hard to deal with. The employees all contradict each other and I went and donated my recycling over having to spend another second at that mess 🤣🤣🤣.

I have been coming here for a few years now and usually no problem BUT I saved up a lot of plastic bottles and had them in bags . The Character noticed a milk bottle so made me get out of line and he made me go through all the bags and separate any bottles not CRV. There were a few . I am 80 years old and it was hot and I was standing in the sun. Seems to me this is there job and it would have been much easier for them as they dump the bottles in the basket. Yes this guy was not a nice person and he glared at me as if I was just an inconvenience to him. The women was very nice but they need to work on there people skill because they don't have any right now.

Very rude!!! Even when you know their sorting rules they are rude. When you pull up and they have a fork lift parked where you are supposed to park and you stay back so y2he equipment has room to operate and they chastise you for it. The fork lift pulls away and then they pretend that there never was a fork lift. Direct comment from the lady " i dont see a fork lift" . You dont like our rules ..leave.. Thanks guys ill go somewhere else

This is one of those places you wish you could give zero stars. The main siskiyou county administration has several complaints please research. They lie about everything to get you to take your recycle there (from price to amount taken). When you won't play their games and have records of your calls and the information they have given they become rude. I was even told to go screw myself when I said I was going to put in a complaint. When they realize you are going to go to overseeing offices and not their office they then try to cover things up by saying they are just trying to stay compliant. The lie that is the most pain in the rear (the one we started and ended with) is that to offload you must empty entire truck or go home and come back with only the amount your off loading (all of mine were bagged separately in trash bags). I had glass, tools, water, plastic, heck I even had laundry. Obviously I'm not offloading so they can go through my things. After this and a few more lies I left, frustrated (didn't want a confrontation or more lies). I called back to discuss these changes and to find out what was really going on (I actually for a bit thought they were playing a practical joke and I had left to soon). I was lied to some more, hung up on, told to screw myself, and told they would call the police because they could. This seems a bit much for recycling some bottles. These folk are aggressive about getting your recycle and even more aggressive when confronted with their lies and told they are not getting your business. To be clear I had about 60 pounds of plastic for recycle and if I had more than 100 pounds in my vehicle total they would pay for nothing, but wanted me to offload all of my things with the plastic so they could weigh and decide. Even when told the load was separated in sections of my things and recycle they said it all had to come off for weigh. The only other option given was to go home and only have recycle in truck. You must be kidding. I should also say I was more than a few miles from home.
