Thank you for Chilton For going the extra mile to make sure that the driver side door was installed properly. I give this autobody shop high Marks because one they were very timely in getting the car repaired and when we noticed something that wasn’t perfect they worked hard to make sure that the glass was installed and reinstalled until it met our satisfaction 100% My only feedback is that the team should try to either send emails or phone call or text with status update updates when they were experiencing challenges Trying to find a perfect solution to the wind noise in the window. But overall, I would recommend this team because they were pleasant to deal with and tried very very hard to make sure we were satisfied.

From the moment I walked into Chilton Autobody, Jessy made all the difference. Warm, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable, she went above and beyond to ensure I understood exactly what needed to be done and why. Jessy patiently walked me through every detail, answered all my questions thoroughly, and gave me complete confidence in the process. The service and attention to detail were outstanding. The repairs were not only completed faster than expected—they were flawless and exceeded every expectation. Jessy’s care, expertise, and dedication made this the best experience I’ve ever had with an auto body shop. I can’t recommend Chilton Autobody—and especially Jessy—highly enough.

No wonder the rating’s so low, tried my luck bc my insurance recommended them. Would give a zero if i could. Dropped my vehicle and told them i had a broken part on my front bumper that needed to be fixed but they didnt see it and didnt add it to the claim and when i picked up my car they try to say it’s not “part of the accident” and try to talk me into saying it wasnt “logical” but it’s them being negligent. Now i have to continue work with this unprofessional team just for the claim

I was met by an extremely rude and toxic person who claimed to be the owner of the business. I came in with questions about my car, but he was aggressive from the very beginning. Even though I didn’t argue with him at all and had no idea the spot was his. I decided not to deal with this shop and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I'm blown away by the amazing service I just received from here! I came in for an estimate for a Tesla, and with zero wait, Jasmine took a look at my car and walked me through the process without any rush. I mentioned I had a separate, minor patch of white from a small mishap in a tight parking garage, and asked if it would be better to go with or without insurance. Jasmine said she could take care of it right there, and brought out what she needed to scrub it out. She put in a good amount of effort, and managed to get the issue completely fixed in a matter of minutes. This was far above any service experience I've had at an auto repair place, and I'm deeply grateful for Jasmine's incredible calm yet hard-working demeanor. Thank you for taking care of my car! I'm a customer for life.

Amazing service! Had a hit and run happen to my truck over the weekend. They were able to begin working on it first thing Monday morning. Had my truck back to me a week later, even during the Christmas week. Made it hassle free for me. Highly recommended!

I had the worst experience with CARSTAR Chilton Auto Body - San Francisco at 166 Wisconsin St. This is by far the most unprofessional auto body shop I have ever dealt with. Instead of using original new parts, they installed aftermarket, poorly repaired parts and tried to convince me the car was "fixed." My car was towed here by my insurance company, and the shop initially estimated 14 days for repairs. Surprisingly, I was called just two days later to pick up the car. At first, I was happy, but when I arrived, I was shocked by the condition of my vehicle. The parts were hastily put together without proper fixing, the paint was full of scratches, and several other issues were immediately noticeable. After pointing out the problems, the car had to stay for an additional week. When I finally picked it up, I noticed new scratches and overspray paint on the windows. On top of that, they didn’t even bother to clean or properly wash the car after the repairs. This entire experience has been a nightmare. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. Their work is sloppy, their timeline unreliable, and their overall service incredibly disappointing. Avoid this place at all costs.

Update: Went again there. This shop deserves 10 stars not 5!!!!!! Amazing! Fast, efficient excellent service. Great job regarding repairs on my BMW. The staff is courteous, polite, and very nice. Literally no complaints. We worked with Rollyn, who provided service that goes above and beyond. Very happy, and will highly recommend this shop.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received at CARSTAR Chilton in San Francisco. The bottom line is this: I was returned a car that was unsafe, with sloppy work and missing components. As soon as I drove away, I realized there were new warning lights on my dashboard that had not been there before. In fact, there were no dash lights on at all when I brought my car in for body work. However, after picking it up, I was immediately greeted with multiple warning lights, including a disturbing read-out that says, “SRS Airbag System Malfunction. Visit Your Dealer.” I went in for a back bumper repair, and there is absolutely no reason I should now be dealing with mechanical and airbag issues. To make matters worse, a piece of the car is now missing in front of the gear shift - a part of the cup holder/organizer is just gone. This is not just inconvenient but also potentially dangerous. I almost had my coffee topple over completely when I was pulling out of my parking spot, which could have caused an accident. Instead of the cup holder, I found part of a tool left behind in my car. Additionally, some sort of filter was randomly floating around inside. My charging cord is also missing. Perhaps the most infuriating and unsafe oversight was discovering that my daughter's car seat had been uninstalled without any notification. The back tether, side hooks, and seatbelt were all undone, and it looked untouched. I nearly drove off with my daughter in it before realizing what had happened. The level of negligence and lack of care in returning my vehicle is completely unacceptable. I strongly urge others to avoid CARSTAR Chilton at all costs. This experience has left me with a car that feels unsafe to drive and a deep sense of frustration. Do not risk your vehicle - or your safety - by trusting them with your car.

I was treated with support, respect, understanding, and compassion. Fast service and professional. I was sad about my car and Jessica was so nice to me. I felt I had the emotional support I needed while knowing that my car was going to be okay even if insurance was going to have to total it. She helped me process cleaning out my car. I felt supported. Everything ran smoothly and I felt like I ended up in a trusthworthy place.

If zero was an option I would use it. I contacted Chilton about repairing our Tesla trunk. Over the course of a year, I was told that the parts are very difficult to get, there were other delays, it's ready for the work to happen / oh wait, it's not don't bring it in. In all that time I had only one or two calls returned from the shop. Rollyn (or someone else there) says he'll call you back but he will not. Take your business elsewhere. We did and now our trunk is fixed.

Came here as an original recommendation from my insurance company a few years back to make repairs on my car from a hit and run that occurred while my car was street parked in the streets of San Francisco. I wasn’t expecting much originally due to my experience with prior body shops. Today marks my 4th or 5th time repairing my vehicle with 166 Wisconsin st CARSTAR Chilton. Not only is the customer service a whole step above all other body shops I have ever worked with, but also their workmanship is also top notch. They really take in consideration appropriate windows for repairs so you’re not waiting for your cars for weeks on end and the work really shows for its self. The best part is that I have not had a single insurance company ever deny my vehicle being repaired here they’re accepted by many many many different insurance companies which makes the whole process that much easier as simple as a couple calls and dropping the car off then picking it up I’ve never had such an easier experience. They also work close with enterprise they pick you up drop you off and get you to your rental so easy and so painless. Nothing but positive experiences if you decide to come work here ask for rollyn he’s one of the best people I have ever worked with.

I was very happy with the service I received. They went above and beyond and Jasmine and Roland were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. However, I was confused by the unprofessional reception i received from Scott when I dropped off the car the second morning, after receiving a confirmation call. He told me, “Well I don’t know why you’re here. I didn’t call you.” And then he proceeds to tell me he’d check the system but they have such bad wi-fi in the building. I really hesitated to leave my car with him, but insurance had already approved it and he was able, somehow, to produce a print out. Not a good look for this business that excels in every other way.

Absolutely terrible auto body. I was in a front end collision with my Volkswagen. I had to bring my car back a second time after my car was in the shop for 7 weeks with zero communication. Yea. You read that correctly. 7 damn week. The technicians do not know how to repair Volkswagen cars at all. I am now sitting in another auto body to find out numerous things that were not repairs correctly from this accident. Carstar also lifted the car wrong when doing the repair (lucky it didn’t fall off the lift) damaging underneath my vehicle-snapping the bolt of the protective cover and causing me major trouble on a cross country trip. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. Horrible communication, pathetic attempt repairing the damage correctly and did additional damage to my car. INCLUDING BREAKING THE SWITCH TO MY WINDOW. Which was the only thing they repaired correctly. I will be filing a formal complaint with AAA to get them removed from their “guaranteed autobody shops”. Pull it together CARSTAR. Y’all are a hot mess. The head guy is more worried about putting you in a rental car and getting his “kick back” than repairing your car correctly in a timely manner. Y’all need some addition training. Pathetic attempt repairing my car.

I just wanted to share my wonderful experience! My catalytic converter was stolen, and in just a day and a half, my car was ready! The support I received was amazing, and the staff was so kind. They even gave my car a wash!

Someone hit me from behind, luckily we both had insurance, I got referred to this auto shop by my insurance company, fast and quick response from Scott the Supervisor , easy drop off and pick up, they did a splendid Job on my repair , I love the outcome and I'm just appreciative, Thank you Chilton for your amazing work !

I recently had my Tesla repaired by Carstar Chilton on Wisconsin street in SF. I did not have insurance to cover the repair so the entire repair was out of pocket. They were fair, fast, honest, and the quality of the work was terrific. I highly recommend them.

A simple fender repair turned into a 3 month ordeal. They returned the car to me with the headlight still not working. After several return visits without a resolution, I had to go to Tesla Service. They found that Chilton had failed to replace a fuse. It cost me $1,100 at Tesla to get this resolved. Chilton no longer reply to my request for reimbursement.

I just moved and sadly needed to get repairs on my car. Chilton was fast, smooth, and made the process very easy. I was able to get my car in that day and have the entire process taken care of seamlessly by Roland and his team. My car looks and works great. Will definitely be back for any future repairs!

Exceptional service across the board - repair to the damaged fender and hood was top notch quality. Customer service was excellent from checking in my Forrester, to repair updates to finalizing the deductible payment. My vehicle was detailed exteriorly and interiorly vacuumed cleaned. Highly recommend.

I chose Chilton because they had worked on our car in the past, and their shop had complete availability. However, for a pretty simple repair like a bumper they had a hard time getting the part which was a standard black bumper, and this took 7 days, drop off to pick up. It wasn’t the easiest communicating with them. Overall I’m happy with the repair.

Extremely poor service that never called me so I had to call them to check in the status of my car repairs and I was told multiple times that they were just “waiting for parts” until I was suddenly told my car was a “total loss” after a minor traffic accident, even though my car had been drivable w/no problems for over two weeks until my appointment to drop off my car. The insurance carrier approved the repairs even after the repair estimate doubled from $6,000 to over $12,000. I finally received a repair estimate to review over a month after I dropped off my car, which was allegedly the third estimate and the cost had ballooned to over $20,000. A total waste of my time since it took them over a month for them to do nothing and I only received delays and non-answers until I finally received an estimate that was well over three times the original one. Therefore, I will never go back there for any reason.

I went here because it was an approved repair shop via the insurance company of the person who hit my parked vehicle. They were friendly, courteous, helpful, prompt and communicative. I cannot comment on value since I didn’t pay for any services but the body work they did looks great and it is warrantied for the entire time I own the car which I think is awesome. I’d use them again!

I was amazed at how wonderful the service was here! They were professional, extremely helpful and had fair prices. It’s always been difficult for me to find a trustworthy auto shop, but I finally found my perfect place!!! The whole side of my car was hit and scraped by a hit and run and I was so frustrated. I came here and Rolyn was so helpful, he explained everything and took me through all of the steps. He was honest and not only did they have a great, fair price but my car was done before they said it would be! This was so important as I couldn’t be without a car for so long since I have 3 children. This was a wonderful experience thank you all!

I had a wonderful experience with Chilton Auto Body and its employees, Specially Christian! Good people, He really made me feel at eaze with the whole process!, From start to finish the process was quick and easy. I dropped off my car at the shop, filed my claim with the insurance and got in a rental right away, My car was repaired quickly and returned to me washed and cleaned as promised. I would recommend them and would use them again should I need them in the future.
