I looked for months online and in Roseville for a car and happened to find everything I needed here in Grass Valley at Pioneer Motors (which was so nice) . I did in fact purchase a car and couldn't be happier with the price and how smoothly the purchasing process was. I at no point in time felt any of the cliches of being at a used car lot. I recommend giving these hard working folks a chance if you are looking to buy a car

This place has lost touch with what it used to be. Easily the worst place you could buy a car from now. Came looking to buy a Toyota rav4 and a chevy colorado. They have a 3 year old, base model rav4 for sale at the same price as a 2025 from a dealer. Literally the same cost. They also have 2 chevy colorados, again, base model. They are 10 and 9 years old, asking retail price. These are used trucks they are trying to sell for what they cost new a decade ago. No wonder they've been sitting on their lot for over a year. Super disappointed with what used to be a good place to buy a used car. Do yourself a favor, go buy new or from a dealer selling their own brand of used. Atleast that way you get a decent warranty and a much better price. This place is a joke now.

Oh, my goodness, where to start, where to start? I had been on a hunt for a 2019 Ford Expedition Max. I found one 4 hours away (not really wanting to drive 4 hours away). I had seen on Pioneers website that they had the one that I ultimately ended up with. It's a 2015, had less than 38,000 mi, and was in impeccable shape! The Pioneer Motors sales lot is small by car lot standards, but it's a fun lot to be on. When we first got there, we just happened to park next to the Expedition (not a Max; it's an XL EL) that I ended up with. (Not quite as plush as the max, but hey, if God had wanted me to have the one that was 4 hours away, He would have opened that door for me.) We always expect the salesman to come running out with his little sharky teeth sticking out, asking us what it's going to take to get us into that baby today. That did not happen. When the salesman finally wandered down, I had already made my decision on the one that I wanted. There were two of them, I didn't like the other one. For me, it's a personal thing. My heart has to say, 'yep this is the car for me', and the car has to say, 'yep, you're my person'. The salesmans' name is Matt, and he's awesome! No pressure, very sweet, and knowledgeable, and I decided he was my new best friend. The sales process was quick and easy, and after about 2 hours we were out the door. And honestly, a good portion of that time was just standing around chewing the fat. Matt sent the Expedition to get a fresh oil change, and while that was happening we were doing the contract. Matt told us about an extended warranty (which we ended up purchasing)(It is a 2015, after all). It just happens that we're practically related! He used to work with my sister and my now brother-in-law at another dealership in Yuba City. I've had the truck since April 1st, and I've said many times, it was a God thing. God knew what I WANTED, and I ended up with what I NEEDED. The price is right, as it happens I've been saving for several years for another vehicle, and we happened to have just exactly enough for the purchase of the vehicle and the extended warranty. Would I purchase from Pioneer Motors again? You bet! I already have my eye on a RAM Crew cab pickup for my hubby. I just need to hurry up and save about $30,000. It might take me a while, I'm not working. Yet. 😊

I found my perfect, late model Jeep at Pioneer. I worked with Bobby, an experienced rep, who helped me navigate the buying process, going from test drive, to decision and quickly to purchase. Lots of trust was passed back and forth and that made my purchase a breeze.

Bought my first car here about 2 years ago and everything went great. Keith was extremely helpful, nice and set me up with a good deal. No problems what so ever with the car to this day, and I don’t have to worry about being ripped off like other dealerships. My parents have bought about 5 cars here in total over the years separate from my purchase and this is our go to dealership in town.

We recently bought a used Mazda Miata from this dealership and we could not be happier with it! Considering that our car was over 10 years old, it was awesome that the dealership did all the required maintenance and paid the registration tags for the next year! Dave was very great in helping us find financing for the car and he was willing to negotiate the price with us, even though someone else offered a bit more! He was very friendly, professional and open about the condition of the car and we left his dealership in a great mood!! We will definitely recommend Pioneer Motors to our friends and family because the customer service was exceptional and the car was in pristine condition!

Pioneer Motors took over $1,000 in taxes from me to pay my out-of-state taxes. They claim to have sent them to California to send to my state. My state never received the funds so I had to pay them again and Pioneer Motors will not refund me. Update: They have still not helped me get this back. Turns out the way they sold it to me meant the taxes had to be paid to both states. They promised me this would not happen before I bought the car. They messed up and won't fix it. Also the van had a crack in the windshield that cannot be fixed by filling it in so the whole windshield has to be replaced. They did not tell me this when I purchased the van from out of state. Would NOT recommend!

We are from the Central Valley of California. We found the 2017 Jeep Renegade we wanted at Pioneer Motors through autotrader.com. We requested contact and had a response nearly immediately. Kevin helped us. Within a short time, we had agreed to purchase the Jeep. We could not travel for a few days , but Kevin and the team at Pioneer Motors worked with us, and we arrived a few days later to complete the purchase. The whole experience was straightforward and painless. We found Kevin and those at Pioneer Motors to be respectful and trustworthy. We couldn’t be happier.

I was interested in a car but have taken a credit hit due to investments in my business. Dave ran my credit, and as soon as it became difficult for him to find financing he would not reply to any of my inquiries. That's pretty low, considering I wanted some communication about it and to discuss other options since it dinged my credit. Very irresponsible and unprofessional. I would have gladly put a large deposit down, had a co-signer, or ultimately have paid cash for the vehicle. I wanted to finance it to help my credit, but it wasn't my only option. You should always go above and beyond for you customer and find a solution. Dave did not. Unless you want a ding on your credit and ignored emails, I'd suggest steering clear.

Great place to get a vehicle. I drove three hours and was able to get in the car that I've always wanted in less than 3 hours. Dave there was awesome and made sure everything was up to par when I drove off the lot. Took my trade in for a decent price. Only bummer is I left my car with a half a tank of gas and they left me with less than a quarter. So I ended up filling up two cars in one day. That was all. But overall- great place.

We came in to test drive a car. Our experience was amazing to say the least and we didn't even purchase a vehicle. We worked with Tom and he was very open and honest with us. He helped us discuss our trade and suggested an option that would benefit us the best. He even provided us a carfax. The reason we didn't buy wasn't because of Tom we weren't ready to pull the trigger yet. Tom realized that and didn't pressure us at all. When we are ready to purchase we will definitely look at Pioneer Motors. I would absolutely recommend them to a friend.

Decent selection for a small town. Prices are on par, no feel of a scam here. Sales people will find you, but I never feel pressured when I walk the lot. Online prices may be better, so check them out. I have NOT bought a car here, but I wouldn't shy away from recommending them. Not my normal place to review and not having bought a car, it was a five star shopping experience.

This is the best place to buy a car! Professional staff, very personal not your typical car sales staff. They were honest about the sales process, warranties and additional traditional "upsell" options. The cars were extremely clean, well researched and affordable! I will never go anywhere else. We've had our car almost a month now and love it!

My experience with Pioneer Motors was excellent. No pressure, just lots of information patiently provided for every question asked. Dave Callaway is a rock star! He and Keith even arranged to drop me off at Safeway today to grocery shop while a tire was being swapped and then picked me up when the tire was done. What service! I would buy a car from this dealership again (if I ever buy another car) and highly recommend the dealership to others.

The best car buying experience I have ever had!!! Super honest people, and pleasant to deal with too. I got the best offer from all the dealers I contacted. process was super smooth. Final price was even lower then the internet. If your looking for a clean used car, call them. I'm also new to the area and it turns out everyone I ran into has bought a car from them too. Even my mechanic. This isn't the largest dealership I visited but the sales manager was awesome and even helped me buy a bike and kayak rack after I purchased the car.

I had a great experience buying a clean truck from Keith at Pioneer. The service was excellent and Kevin's attention to detail and after-sale service went above and beyond what was expected. I will definitely shop Pioneer again when it is time to buy another vehicle.
