Mammoth Lakes (CA)

I came today 12/24/2025 . Easy to spot that place. Found 1 tub with a pipe , water was running and the tub was full. Water is warm not hot enough for enjoying it when is cold.

The pipe is broken. We need a hero to come and fix the broken pipe please! Bring tools and new connections

This was 1 of 2 hot springs we got to visit in the area. Luke warm water and very small.

Tiny tub. Close to main road. No bathroom. Luke warm at best. Of course expect nudity… it’s a hot spring.

One of my favorite Hot Springs to visit after any hike in this area. It's not the largest and it's not always the cleanest. However it's a little tucked in and a little more private which is what I really like about it and it has a great view of the Sierras. Luckily I often have it just to myself which makes it more relaxing. The temperature was more lukewarm. I'm used to it being a little hotter, but still relaxing. Plenty of parking. Expect nudity.

Drove in and there was metal trash all over the parking lot and I ended up popping my tire. Only old naked people there offering to help.

Water was warm. There was a lot of algae in it and it smells like sulfur. I liked that you can drive up to the hot spring.

Dear USGS, this hot natural spring needs some TLC as in a fence and a pan to rinse maybe? Why treat a national treasure with such lack of interest when is beneficial and popular. Animals have easy access to it. The water was warm at end of October and yes with debris.Bottom is very slippery. This was a neat and fun experience. There were a lot of people (Saturday evening), but if you don't mind having company then you will be fine. The springs are a bit "dirty" in the sense that the water is dirt color and you'll also get a lot of sediment in your swimwear so wash up well after! And of course, use soap or rinse and dip in a hot tub after because you'll smell like sulfur!

Cool place to go to if you manage to find it unoccupied, but have your phone ready to call the police just in case. People show no respect there. They will hop in with you and start bathing, soap and all. Nudists also show up, strip down and hop in with you even if you have kids. Almost got into a fight because of it...

We hiked quite a ways because the road was so bad (February 2022) only to find the tub EMPTY. The pipe is so leaky no water makes it to the tub. Update 12/2023 It is small but it's working again, someone fixed it!

This hot springs is small and not big as I expected. Also, I saw water pipe runs water into the hot springs(pretty sure not a natural hot springs). The views around this place is nice, would recommend just a take phone/check in place. Don’t spend too much time here.

Nice Hot Springs in winter or cold time. Summer time is not good to soak in there. I am sure it will be a beautiful in the winter.

In the snow must have a 4x4. I did see a stock Subaru. But they said they struggled a lot.

We tried this one first but it's just a small tub filled from a plastic pipe running from a spring elsewhere. Also a cow had apparently been using it as a toilet earlier and the place smelled very bad. We tried Wild Willy's next and that was much better. Sorry no photo of tub itself.

If you can go on a weekday, you *should* have it all to your self/group. It was 100.8....so warmish. It was very clean with no trash in site. When ppl are there, most people tend to enjoy it in the nude. Fits 3-4 nicely and up to 6-8 squished.

My watch clocked 100.3F in the tub so it was hot but not like regular hot tub hot. It was pretty slimy on the bottom - be careful you do not slip getting in and out. We had four folks comfortably, you could get a few more in but seating options get more limited - if you're good friends it'll work.

I liked it, and, it also was kind of anti-climactic. The dirt road to get to it was smooth so a sedan like as a Camry can get to it without worry. The anti-climactic part is the the Springs itself is fairly small, able to hold about three people-ish. Then, when it sinks in that I'm in the middle of nowhere and this Springs is here, it's pretty cool. It's warm like a bath, not scalding, and it has incredible views. It's smaller than Wild Willy's and that made it a "quieter" experience.

I stayed there for a week in oct. 2020 had a great time the tub was clean and nice and warm. The camping was just steps away from the tub.

Luke warm today so I didn't bother getting in. Nice scenery. Nobody else here. Looks big enough for 4 people comfortably.

Neat place to soak and view the mountains. Not very warm this time of year (January) but still good for a 20-30min soak. There is some slime in the tub, and it can get crowded. Be sure to check out the source of the water, behind the upper parking lot (follow the pipe).

Small tub holds 6-8 people. Warm but not too hot. Recently cleaned when I was here by a volunteer camped nearby. No signs, just follow google maps to it. Can't beat the scenery. Clothing optional. Actually I can't imagine a swimsuit ever being used here. An oasis. I'll be back for sure.
