Mike does great and honest work. I took my car in for new engine mounts, and he let me supply my own parts to save a little bit of money. When he found a couple more semi-urgent problems, he called me, explained the issues in detail, and accurately estimated how much it would cost if he were to fix them then and there. I gave him the ok, and he was finished by the end of the day. When I came to pick it up, he showed me the old faulty parts, and all I can say is I’m very grateful that he offered to replace them. He charged a very fair price for the work he did, and I never had a doubt in my mind that he was doing good and thorough work.(which can’t be said for many mechanics I’ve gone to). The difference I felt in my engine on the drive home was night and day, and the money was well worth having a solid car that I can be confident in again.

Having driven 5 hours on a Friday up to the area for a ski trip with a full car of friends, I was really shocked and disheartened when my car wouldn't start Saturday morning. After checking all the basics, I knew it was going to be something I would need a mechanic to help with. As someone who visits Mammoth Lakes quite often, I had that sinking feeling in my gut that I wouldn't be able to find a shop that would help me on a weekend. I searched and searched online and called practically every shop and was only able to speak with the Chevron Garage that turned me away saying they were 2 weeks out and couldn't see me until then. I tried one last call based on a good review I saw on yelp for Mountain Motors. Initially, I received a voicemail and my heart sunk. My call, however, was followed up with by a text message asking that I send a message back. I texted back and to my relief someone responded! It was my heroine, Nancy. She and Mike stopped by to take a look at my vehicle after hours on a Saturday. After some initial diagnosing we had the car up on the lift the next day and within hours Mike had found the problem and fixed it. This experience has been SO above and beyond my expectations of not just shops in the Mammoth Lakes area, but also any large metropolitan area as well. Not to mention Mike and Nancy are such kind and humble folk. If I could give 6 stars for this experience I would. THANK YOU Mike and Nancy.

I was extremely impressed with Mike and Nancy. I took my ‘06 Tundra here when I was in a bind with a cracked radiator and they got me up and running again the next day. Miraculous.

I had troubles with my car brakes passing by the town. The Mountain Motors team got my car back on the road even though they were very busy! Very appreciative, highly recommend their work.

This place helped us out a ton. Our vehicle was overheating and no mechanic shop was able to look at the vehicle due to being extremely busy. We were able to find the part we needed at O'Reilly's in Bishop but there was no way for us to get the parts. Mountain Motors allowed us to have the parts sent to them and then we were able to pick the parts up from them and I fixed the vehicle myself. That saved us a lot of money and time. I am surely recommending mountain motors for your service. He is very intelligent and helpful. We were on our way to Utah and our A/c broke down in 95F. Even though he had a pile of other cars to fix, he accepted our request and fixed it. 😊😌

I was on a day trip out to ski, and my vehicle lost power coming off the highway. They were the only ones in town kind enough to look it over before I drove it the 4 hours home. They were very nice and professional and worked me in as I was nervous to try to drive home without it being looked at. Also, they were priced very fairly! I highly recommend them!

Nicest people ever. We were camping in SilverLake RV Resort. Husband went to start his F250 Diesel and check engine light came on. Called several businesses in Mammoth and Bishop. Either not available or wanted a ridiculous amount to hook to computer and check. Called Mountain Motors and was told they could do it in an hour for very nominal fee. Michael was very nice and quickly determined it was a bad glow plug that would need to be changed, but fine to get home. Next morning we were leaving early so still cold outside. Truck wouldn’t start so we called Mountain Motors back and he told my husband a few tricks to start truck. It worked. These are truly honest, hard working people that really care about customer service. As someone who has been in customer service over 30 years I appreciate that. Didn’t feel like we were going to be scammed or taken advantage of. Thank you to as Michael and his wife. We really appreciated your help.

Best mechanics in the Sierra!

Great mechanic. He's a bit busy, but he knows what he is doing. I'd recommend him for working on big vehicles and Subarus. Would count on being turned away if the job requires cracking the engine open, but for everything else, he'll try to fit you in. My whole family has had their trucks and cars worked on by Mountain Motors. The prices are some of the best in town. Call ahead of time, and you may want to arrange a ride out, if you're not waiting around for the vehicle, as it is about 20-30 minutes walk into town. The guy races off-road vehicles, so he's got some cool stories to tell.
