Angel was an amazing,i had a terrible leak on my transmission that needed some TLC and once they received it his crew went right to work. I was a little stressed out because I was having issues with the transmission on my 2019 Jeep Compass. I found Father and Son Transmissions online and decided to call them, based on all of the positive reviews on Yelp and Google. They provided me with a lot of detail over the phone about the options that I had as far as repair. Their technicians were able to properly diagnose the issue with my vehicle and confirmed that my transmission had to be rebuilt. The price was very competitive, and they completed the job ahead of schedule! They provided me with excellent customer service, at a very competitive price. Definitely satisfied with their service! So happy that my vehicle is back up and running!

This shop has been good to me, when I first pulled in they checked my truck test drove it and pulled codes, they notified me there was engine codes and recommended I fix those before I fix the transmission (because it would suck to pay to rebuild and it still had issues) after fixing the engine issues it still had slipping and hard shifting issues so I took it back and Angel recommended a rebuild and explained everything straight forward with more than enough detail about the process. It took about a week for them to fix it and drove just fine off the lot. I was happy with Angels quick response and updates as the build was being done. He also had his technicians stay late to accommodate my busy schedule, he was more than helpful. About 5,000 miles later I felt the transmission hard shifting into first, I called Angel and he stood late just to check out the issue! Angel and his father took my truck for a ride, checked the codes nothing came back and they said it was probably the engine intake valve, sometimes the butterfly valve gets dirty or just goes bad (in silverados), they took it apart quickly and clean it up, this was an engine problem and he still went out of his way to help me out After a busy day of work I was more than grateful that he was more than accommodating. He told me if I had anymore issues to let him know and keep Him updated if the problem arises again because I'll probably have to have the intake replaced and programed. Angel is busy but tries his best to accommodate when he can, they do good work.

I needed a rear main seal replacement on my civic so I thought since this place specializes in transmission removals that it would be the perfect place. I called Angel and he told me that due to the holidays they were busy and to call him a week later, I thought that was understandable and so I waited a week and called him again on the date specified, he told me again that they were very busy and to call him once again on Friday the next week, so I did but my call went straight to voice mail twice on a business day in the afternoon, so I left a voice message with my name a number. I got a weird gut feeling that he was just avoiding my main number, so I called using my Google number and sure enough he picked up, I clicked on him, he then proceeded to return that call on my Google number which I never answered. He never called me on my main number that I left a voice message with, he was obviously avoiding the job on my car for whatever reason which is fine but don't give me the run around for two weeks that I wasted waiting, I could have had my car fixed already. Just say you can't do the job because it's not worth it for you or that you're way too busy and I'll understand, this was such a waste of my time, all the comments here about the quality of work might be true but he's not really upfront.

I'm thrilled to share my exceptional experience with Fathers and Sons Transmission Service! If I could give 6 stars I would. It’s hard nowadays to find a shop you can trust to do quality work, be honest and keep you updated on what’s going on. My jeep is a problem child, always has been so I’m always careful about choosing who I ask to do work that I can’t do myself: in this case I’ve been having transmission related headaches for over a year, been to different shops, spent thousands of dollars on parts and labor that I probably didn’t need to if I’d come here sooner. Angel and his crew know what they are doing, not only did they fix my transmission issues but they even fixed the suspension! They noticed some control arm bolts were so loose they weren’t even able to be tightened anyone - so they did what you yourself would do if you noticed it - they fixed it, even thought it wasn’t a part of the work my jeep was there for. The damn thing drives better than what I dropped it off, I might end up keeping it. Thanks Father & Son Transmission. Top notch all the way. Don’t hesitate to take your car there.

The transmission on my 2017 Suburban was starting to slip. I had over 93K miles on it and I didn’t want it to get worst. I reached it to a few shots and found Father and Son Transmissions in Whittier. I spoke with Alex and he explained they were backed up and I couldn’t get the truck in immediately but they got me in as soon as they could. After speaking with Alex and having them inspect my Suburban he explained in detail what they found and the plan to get it fixed. I was pleased with how well he explained the problem, and how they were going to remedy the issue. They had my truck ready before the expected time and was very pleased on how well the service was with Father and Son Transmission. They seem to hold themselves to a high standard and care for their customers. They treated me with the utmost respect and delivered a superb service. After a few thousand miles, and a couple of road trips later I must say that my Suburban feels like it came off the factory floor. The gears change smoothly, obviously no slipping and I’m worry free about any mechanical issues. Thank You Alex and your team for such an awesome experience.

Brought my 99 Acura manual trans in to Father & son Transmission in February. Spoke to the owner Angel over the phone about the clutch slipping a lot. He told me it was most likely a worn out clutch & would need a new one, but to bring it in and they would inspect it before they started any repairs. I spoke with him on a Monday, he told me they were very busy, and that my car would most likely be worked on ready on Friday or the following week. I dropped my car off on Tuesday to replace the clutch. Upon working on the vehicle I was advised that a rear main seal on the engine was worn out and needed to be replaced. Since the transmission was already removed from the vehicle the seal would be easy to replace. I brought my car in on Tuesday and to my surprise my vehicle was ready on Thursday (Car would have been ready a little sooner but they had an issue with their supplier. Supplier’s fault, not their’s!) The owner was professional throughout the whole process from beginning to end and explained everything to me beforehand, didn’t try to sell me any services my car didn’t need like other shops. I chose this shop because of the high ratings and reviews. Did not disappoint. I put many miles on that transmission, clutch is solid, no issues to date. They quoted me a great price to replace the clutch.

I had the CVT transmission repaired by Father & Son about a year ago on our Nissan Versa and our car is still working great. I occasionally call them about other mechanical things and they give great advice every time. They are honest, fair, and do an excellent job. I recommend anyone that's frustrated with their CVT transmission not covered under the CA Lemon Law to do their due diligence and ask around about Father & Son's reputation and workmanship.

I brought my 2005 civic in for the transmission . I was literally about to get stranded . The transmission was toast, the shop father and son transmission fixed it in a week and it runs excellent they deserve the good review. Also angel was nice and kept in touch . I had some issues with my car and I called Angel. He took the time to explain everything I had questions about and gave me a fair assessment on the situation with my car. I had the car being repaired by another shop and things didn’t quite add up to me. I had taken it in and left with all the same problems it already had. Angel gave me a really good second opinion that helped calm my concerns and brought up issues I hadn’t thought to ask about. I would definitely trust him with my car because he seems very knowledgeable and does research on the issues rather than performing guess work.

Angel and his father Julian are experts at what they do, very professional and courteous and straight up good people. I took my 1977 F250 to get my leaking C6 transmission fixed the quote was very reasonable and the turn around time was excellent for the work. I took my truck to them after another shop struggled to sort out my transmission issues. F&S test drove my truck and suggested I have my catalytic converter checked out. They didn't charge me a dime! I took my truck back to the original shop. They changed the converter and my truck drives like new! Thanks a ton. You're my guys the next time I need transmission work!

I've used this shop not only for my personal vehicle but also our company's fleet of work vehicles. The work that I've had done includes replacement of a torque converter, 2 full transmission rebuilds. A few months back I was having some engine trouble with my car (03 Nissan Sentra). When I went to F&S they really help me out, they figured out it was an issue with the ignition coils, got the parts in, and fixed my car up like it was brand new. Since then my cars been running great and now if I’m ever having car trouble I know I’ll be heading back to them.

I was having a transmission issue with my Ford F150 over a week ago and after some research, found Father and Son's the most reasonably priced and more accommodating than the other shops. Angel, the owner was able to address the issue with in a week and explained fully what was done and what I needed to do to maintain my transmission in top working order. I brought in my Lexus RX 330, I was giving this car to my daughter. Angel carefully explain what needed to be done and agreed on the price. As it turned out, the SUV had a complicated total transmission replacement. Angel and his team were determined to solve the problems and showed a tremendous amount of dedication in repairing my car. I am so happy with all the work that Angle has taken out for me and 5 of my family member's. His shop recently gave me great advice but, described from beginning to end of what was going on with my truck but explained in details how my vehicle was going run as soon as the work was completed. I shopped around Downey, Norwalk, and Santa Fe Springs and i felt like a victim of my situation not a customer and pricing without explanation is not how a consumer should feel. My 2008 Civic Si was in need of a new clutch assembly. I had a hard time locating a mechanic that I can trust to install a new clutch. After searching and searching on Google I came across Father and Son transmission. Every where else I went they would tell me that they could not install a Center force clutch and they may have to charge me a bit more and take a day longer to install for that type of clutch. Angel had no problem installing my clutch at an unbelievable price. I dropped off my car at 8:30 in the morning and was ready for pick up that same day at 3PM. I'm very happy for the work and honesty that Angel promised me. I have found my new mechanic. Thank you Father and Son Transmission for the good work!
