Took my work van in after having other shops looking at the issued…., they had a look at the van and were very honest regarding what the van needed. No hassle and Very honest. I will be taking my vehicles here moving forward. Thank you again and highly recommend.
Went to a dealer when my car overheated they supposedly fixed it and charged me $1,300. About 3 weeks later a hose burst and I went back to the dealer and he charged me $700 to replace all the hoses. About 3 months later the car began to overheat again so I took it to Signal Hill Automotive they fixed everything and changed my oil. It seemed the problem was the newfangled thermostats now used which can tell the cooling fan to either run or not run. The dealer supposedly put a new thermostat in but I guess he didn't. Therefore I'm sticking with Signal Hill Automotive they get five stars and a grade of A!
I brought in a part to have installed and it was slightly wrong but they called me to ask if they could make it work, it worked perfectly, and they didn't even charge me extra
Joe, Gerald & Onik, what a nice people. Good personalities. I’ve known them since 1994 and take my own, my wife’s, relatives and friends’ car to them since! Technically they are the best in the business without any exaggeration, 2nd to none! Very sharp & clever in pinpointing & diagnosing issues that are difficult to locate. They are honest & very fair when it comes to hand you the bill.
Frankly I hardly written any reviews in the past but now one is in order. Keep up the great work Signal Hill Automotive.
SUPER pleased with the service I got. Gerald and Joe were kind and very helpful. They were willing to stay a little late to do an oil change since I was working and couldn’t get off sooner. They even fixed my fender liner even though that’s not usually something they do. 10/10 highly recommend
I've been using these guys for years, both for personal and company vehicles. It's a small shop but they do a great job, are always friendly, and have never felt like I wasn't given a fair deal. Not many auto places I can say that about.

Great mechanics. Any of the guys there are honest and demonstrate what true integrity is all about. I started by taking my company’s vehicles there around 2011 and eventually started taking my own vehicles. I always recommend them to ladies that I know because it is a safe place for people like me who don’t know a lot about cars. They are definitely a trustworthy place. They do close at 5pm and are closed on weekends so I recommend getting there early to allow them time to work their magic. They have helped me out of so many difficult circumstances and I’m thankful for each of them.
Signal Hill Auto Repair has been the best garage I’ve ever used. Fast, reasonable, and most importantly, they know what they are doing. These guys are great. BTW, they always seem to know nuances and potential problems for my two F150s (2002, & 2013).
Went in for an oil change and smog check on a Monday around 4pm. It was such an easy pleasant experience. My car was done in 30mins! Definitely recommend and will be a returning customer.
These gentlemen are the most honest mechanics I have ever been to.
My brother took his car to Long Beach Nissan because it won't start. After a $200 inspection they told him that he needed a new alternator which was going to cost nearly $900.
I told my brother to get a second opinion and he took his car over to Signal Hill Automotive. They checked his car and discovered that his alternator was fine and it was his battery that was bad. So the mechanic suggested that the battery in his car had a lifetime warranty and he should take it back and get a replacement. They disconnected the battery for my brother and he went to Auto zone to get his replacement. He brought back the new battery and they installed it for my brother. They only charged him for the diagnosis which was $55.
These mechanics had an opportunity to make money on this situation but they chose to prove they have integrity and operate morally. Since that day I have began to take all company and personal car to Signal Hill Automotive for everything. These guys have earned my business for as long as they are open. I recommend them every opportunity I have.
I would also like to suggest to anyone who goes there for work on your vehicle. If you had a good experience then take a little time to write about your experience. These guys are very humble and they wouldn't ask you to share your opinion but I feel compelled to help them out with spreading their reputation because there are SO many crooked mechanics out there who take advantage of people and give the whole industry a bad name. Signal Hill Automotive is an honest business with honest intentions and people need to know
Came here to get new spark plugs for my wife's vehicle because I felt like it was shuddering and I hadn't done them ever, I know bad husband blah blah blah, and felt I should do it. I told them the problem and what I thought needed to be done. They informed me that it was a hose that needed to be changed and was a quick fix. So after they did the spark plugs I drove home to wait for them to call me and the shuddering was still there, dang not the sparks oh well needed them anyway. Go back later, they change the hose, took like 5 minutes and guess what. No more shuddering. I feel these guys were really honest and could have jacked me if they wanted to. They didn't and for that, I will definitely be back.
Onik, Gerald, and Joe are all in the same family and own Signal Hill Automotive. I have personally been taking my cars to them for over 10 years. All of my friends and relatives take their cars to them as well. WHY you ask? One answer..............THEY ARE THE MOST HONEST GROUP OF MEN I HAVE EVER MET. They will not charge you for something you don't need. They will help you do what is best for your car, while at the same time working with you to pay the bill. They are so kind, loving, and generous. Many times they have gone above and beyond to help me. Hands down the best mechanic in all of Long Beach, Signal Hill, and California!!!
