I've been in business with IAA since 2014 and purchase hundreds of cars a year.
We purchased a Wagoneer that was listed with Primary damage as "Electrical". The vehicle arrived with a seized engine with a missing drain plug. Clearly not electrical damage. It was being sold by Enterprise. The vehicle had the enterprise managers business card on there. I called the number and was told that the vehicle had an issue with the drain plug and all the oil leaked out while it was out on rent. The Engine seized and they took it to IAA
I reached out to this branch with all of the details and the solution they came up with was that I can list it on consignment. I asked if I can also list it as electrical and the person on the phone said you can list it however you want. I will be looking into other avenues to get this resolved.
I can't believe it how management can do such a stuff like this we pay $1,500 there fees and they cannot load it: I bought 2023 pontoon and management doesn't want me to pickup pay $300 storage I asked to load on my trailer and he refused to load it shouldn't be working at the IAA
Nikia and the Manager Mr Austin were extremely helpful when I had an issue with a bid I made. Nikia was especially professional, patient, and supportive throughout the entire process. I really appreciate their excellent customer service and the way they took care of my concern. Highly recommended!
My car went there on a Wednesday and I went to get my belongings Thursdays so I could get my vehicle back and everything was already out the car as if I could not get my vehicle back which I did. I had $60 in the car of course they took it and trashed all my belongings in boxes. Also broke the light inside the car and trashed the broken glass in my belongings
Manager is really sensitive, acts on emotion, looks confused, has trouble putting 2 sentences together, looks really dirty and is tantrum prone. The lips were so pursed and food was crusted around it's mouth that had to be older than a day. People there are nice, but the manager is completely nasty, inside and out. Avoid contact with manager unless you want to see something that you wish you could unsee.
I have never heard of a used car auction that doesn’t allow you to start a vehicle to inspect it mechanically, instead only permits for a “visual inspection” the day before the auction and you’re supposed to base your purchase off of a 10 second video of the engine running that they attach to the listing. What if the engine is overheating, leaking, shaking, burning oil, etc..? What if the transmission doesn’t engage/slipping? God knows most if not all of your vehicles have these issues but it would be good to know what i am getting my self into so i can account for repairs. These are important factors that will help determine whether i should or should not buy a vehicle. It’s a crooked, shady and scamming policy designed to screw you whether you’re an individual or a dealer and it must be removed, especially for dealers who are trying to secure good, running and reliable vehicles for their customers. The managers and office staff at this branch are a bunch of hypocrites who enforce this policy like their lives depend on it and they will get extra rude and aggresive with you if you mistakenly don’t abide by their divine rules.
If i could give zero stars, i would.

horrible customer service, they wouldnt let get my personal belongings out of the car!!! i heard the IAA BIRMINGHAM location steal, and im afraid they might take my personal belongings. Attitudes are bad as if they are the ones getting their cars towed. If they don’t like working there maybe they should quit. Because the ladies at the front are horrible!!! Be ready for an attitude as soon as you walk through the door. they wont even speak to you first! IAA hire people that would love to work there and treat people with respect.
This place is unprofessional, the workers are shiesty and they tamper with your belongings and it's always something missing, people pay close attention to your vehicle once you get it back, I will never Go back there
I have been to about 6 different iaa yards an i do have to say they have the worst customer service.... The ladies are horrible to much attitude to be at work
These people crack my windshield broke my door handle and messed my alignment up. I had to go buy a wheel bearing assembly hub so I paid $1200 for some damages from this company and they don’t wanna pay me or fix my car which they damaged so when I called they pretty much laughed in my face
So I just hope this place never prosper in life. Nobody that work there.
After being in an extremely traumatic accident - which was not my fault, at that - which left me in the ER with injuries, my car was towed and brought to IAA. I ventured all the way there from Tuscaloosa to clean out my personal items, since my car was unsurprisingly totaled, my belongings were already in trash bags.
!!! Not only was trash mixed in with other items, but $50 from my glove box was mixing, along with a massive 50-75lb bag of prescription dog food I had collected, as I am an animal shelter and animal task force volunteer.
I called the original tow company, who confirmed they did not do clean out and it was only in their care for 2 nights, so it certainly seems that IAA is the only company during this process who even does it.
What is wrong with you? Why make a terrible incident that much worse for someone?
Someone needs to contact me ASAP about making this right. I have alerted my insurance, and will alert authorities if necessary.
The lady's at the desk when first walk in was very nice, I really enjoyed but the worker also was nice but my things was missing but I file a claim so I guess everything will be ok
Staff is very rude I had came to pick my car up and I didn't receive my tag and items that were in car when they got it .Lady I talked to wasn't nice at all they need to work on friendliest and customer service.The lady told me they can't do anything about my tag which is not right at all .
I sold my car through peddle. when the tow driver showed up we realized someone had damaged the back tires and stripped the lug nuts and we couldn't get it off so she had to leave it. Then peddle wouldn't pay them to come back and get it yet they made it happen. Even when the next driver showed up and had to take the car on the flatbed off and put mine on it and then hook up and tow the other car. Christi in dispatch is phenomenal at her job very professional and friendly and gets it done! Idk what kind of money she makes but the owner needs to know she's worth more.
If I can give this location a zero star I would.... Manager had left early and front office staff was so disrespectful and didn't want to help because it was 4:31..... As a licensed buyer and customer I expect top customer service especially when upper management is not there
Despite multiple issues with front desk staff who could use sensitivity training, there is a light in the darkness. The branch manger (Austin) was a delight to speak to and helped with any issues I presented to him.
Drove 2 hours to get my mother's car and they said we were late so we had to wait till after 1 pm and then was threatened if we were to walk around and look at cars we would not be getting her car today very bad customer service this place is HORRIBLE!!!

I have to say I was not looking forward to going to IAA based on the reviews I read. But I am very pleased to say that at. the location 1600 Hwy 150 Bessemer I was very impressed with what I saw and the level of their professionalism. Everyone I encountered were top level nice and helpful. Who could ask for anything more. Great job people! Keep up the great work.
the worst experience i’ve ever had. everything i had was went through and put into a box, even my wallet along with $200 cash. i called they said basically it was free game and there was nothing i could do. pls don’t use this company and if you have no choice pls double check your stuff and make sure you have everything.
When I arrived to pick up my vehicle it was damaged up by the right head light wish I could show pictures but anyway companies are to be careful what towing services they used or hire to pick up peoples vehicles and drop them off at these locations like this. The ladies at the front desk was very nice and the guy that took me to get me vehicle was nice and generous and when I called the towing service to complain he said my vin number was not in there system. I’m 100 degrees mad right now ???.
The big football looking man lady manager.. at front desk ignored me… but when someone she knows came in .. she let me know she was ignoring me because of how she greeting him… as if my time is nothing..
The people at Insurance Auto Auctions are very professional and act within a strict code of office rules. Two of the three ladies that were behind the counter were quite nice to me the other one was apparently unknowledgeable about her own job. Unfortunately, the company that sent me down there did not provide all the information needed in order to complete my business. Anyone who is going down here to conduct business, you need to know two things. The first thing is they will not see you unless you have made an appointment. The second is this they do not accept paper applications or paper slips. They must be uploaded into their system to be accepted. The outside staff that I encountered was very nice and eager to assist me in competing my job.
This is the worst customer experience I have ever had with IAAI. after, driving for three hours, I could not examine the car simply because the car is not scheduled for the next day sale or it is not on the sale pad the team at your branch mentioned.
Even though, I told the front end about the experience and the long drive but every one seems to give a deaf ear not even caring about the long way I came.
I tried to reach you the manager by phone but I could not reach them. The operator said that the manager is on the lot.
Never had this BAD experience in 10 years in the car business.This office is doing frauds,announcing false information and the manager Brian Travis knows about that and defense his people.Avoid buying from this place, they are posting cars with NO damage,RUN and DRIVE ??? But the car is total junk and will not move at all.
