I would recomend Taylor from my own experience. In March 25 was towing my camper and my truck overheated. I made it to rawlins after adding water . Taylor fixed my truck quickly and honestly and for a fair price. I needed a new radiator . The radiator was original and was over 15 yr old . I can't remember who helped me but I sure would recomend them .

Taylor Auto Repair did a great job fixing my daughter's Subaru. She was traveling to Yellowstone, had an issue with the lug nuts on one of her wheels, and they found a great and reasonably-priced way to fix the problem and get her on her way. In addition to being great at what they do they treated her really well.

The guys working at this shop were so helpful and got to us right away. They found the issue quickly and even let us know how we could fix the issue ourselves. Thank you guys so much for your inventiveness and being so personable and friendly!

Excellent repair place! My son was driving through Wyoming on a trip across country and he broke down in Rawlins. We had little choice, but to trust the shop at the time. They charge $135 fee to do a diagnostic. That fee is nonrefundable and does not apply towards the repair. That is my only complaint. Most places will at least apply the diagnostic towards the repair if you go with them. Either way we had them do the repair. It was a bit intense and costly. James, the mechanic did an excellent job and kept me informed every step of the way. He really went above and beyond for my son, Even staying late one night on his birthday to make sure that the repair was completed. The work was done properly. It was done within the parameters of what most other mechanics would have charged. Plus, they went above and beyond to do some extras. If you find yourself broken down in Rawlins Wyoming I strongly recommend you give this place a try! James was amazing.

Taylor Automotive saved me so much money!!! I had a quote from a dealership in Rawlins for several things to be done. Taylor agreed that SOME of those problems needed to be taken care of and beat the dealership price considerably. He was very honest with me and was extremely fair in price. I will continue to have Taylor repair my vehicles.

In the repair business couldn't even suggest a place to stop for tire replace, said to Google it. What a day younger people are helpless.!!!

So grateful for Taylor auto repair! Car threw an EPC error on a cross country trip and this was the nearest Volkswagen mechanic. James ran a diagnostic, took one look under the hood and found the issue. He fixed it up for me to make it to a VW dealer to have the part replaced so I could continue traveling. So grateful for this shop!!

I had looked at many many reviews before I decided to give this man a call today to take a look at my car. This man went above and beyond to make everything with my car right. He fixed a vacum leak on my car and then also turned around and got all my spark plugs and coil packs changed out in a decent amount of time and for a great price. I would reccomend and if I could give 10 stars I would. Not only is my car running great but I feel really good that fixing my car didn't break the bank.

Customer service was top-notch. Every detail of what was needed for the repairs was laid out beforehand and agreed upon. The owner was pleasurable and tolerant of me and my situation. The vehicle was diagnosed quickly, and all parts discussed/ordered in a timely manner. Repairs were accomplished quickly, and I was back on the road to continue my travels. I would highly recommend Taylor Auto Repair.

Was supposed to be in by 10am today..it's been 2 hours...no part ..yet Not friendly at all....it's now snowing and may have to walk to the hotel AGAIN. We were traveling in our van from Montana back to Texas and broke down in Rawlins, they were too busy to get in to be fixed but the gentleman working there James or John (sorry) was very helpful and gave us a few ideas of what might be wrong with some advice! Couldn't have asked for more, polite, understanding, and the most help we had received! Thank you! We're in Colorado now, about 2 hours from reaching Texas border!

we started out with a truck in Rawlins at the McDonald’s that wouldn’t start, having a brand new battery, pointed toward need for a new starter. This kind gentleman arranged for a tow to his shop and a brand new starter was installed starting at 5 PM, so we could get back on the road with a snow storm bearing down on us. The repair was completed at 6:30 and in spite of the shop supposedly closing at five there was no hesitation whatsoever to help me and my dad get back on the road! I would recommend this business to anyone and if I have further need of repairs anywhere near Rawlins , I will be calling them!

We are doing a roadtrip through the country and one of our spark plugs flew out. + point: they were happy to help us within the same day and “fixed” it. They charged us 660$ for it, 120$/hour. I don’t know if that is a normal rate in the US, but I think they took advantage of us, knowing that we are not from here. Also as we asked beforehand how much that’s gonna cost we didn’t get a clear answer. Anyway, the new spark plug lasted for around 150 miles. We are having the same problem again, but are already too far away to drive back to them.

Awful experience all around. I break down on my way cross country, and have my car towed to Taylor's auto repair with a broken spindle, hub, and ABS sensor. Taylor auto service Informs me shipping will be a day, labor will consist of 2 1/2 to 3 hours, and parts will sum to around 600 dollars. I say fine, a little exorbitant but it needs to be done. Come the next day, they shadily call me insisting that the part will take two to three days to ship, and they don't work over weekends, so my one day wait has suddenly turned into five. Their alternative solution is me paying 200$(which magically increases to 250$ after some talking) for them to go "get the part themselves",all the while saying they won't have a truck in their shop for 5 days that's not being worked on, insinuating this is an either or situation that my truck will be removed following that I don't agree to their demands. I refuse, have the truck towed to a nearby shop, and they outrageously demand 316$ for "two hours" of work, consisting of removing a broken wheel hub and nothing else. A total scam to be avoided, and downright illegal practices I'm sure. EDIT to reply to response: Your unprofessional handling of the situation is the sole reason I decided to go with another auto repair. You should learn something from this rather than be upset about your public image.

While traveling across the country, we needed air for our low tire. At Taylor's Auto Repair, the guy working stopped what he was doing, filled our tire and didn't charge us. He was super nice and provided great service. Thank you.

Our tow service (Stauffer /Sean) recommended Taylor Auto Repair. He diagnosed the problem right away, was able to get the parts, had us back on the road! "Good Sam Roadside Assistance" could not find a mechanic to work on it. We were very thankful to have such great ser and service!

My sons vehicle broke down 65 miles outside of Rawlins and was towed to Taylor Auto. I was able to narrow the problem to an alternator, but felt it was worth paying a local mechanic to save time. They were able to confirm it was the alternator and then gave me an outrageous quote of over $800 for a Toyota RAV 4. Alternators for this vehicle range from $200-$300 retail. They quoted $400 part and $400 labor. By reference a local mechanic quoted half this price for the same repair. It was cheaper to drive to Rawlins, pay the $144 diagnostic plus $15 fee for using a card, trailer it back home, and pay the local shop to fix it. Which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place To me this appears to be a mechanic taking advantage of a traveler and charging over double the price. After reading the other reviews, I cannot argue against this mechanic being a crook. Avoid at all costs.

Excellent and timely service. He was able to resolve our issue quickly and was very reasonably priced.

The guy can come off as a bit onry, but it gets the job done. The diagnostic fee seemed a bit high to tell me that my engine had seized, but oh well, that's what I needed to know.

My truck was towed to this shop Sunday because of a failed water pump. The owner was very straight forward and got me squared away in not long at all. I appreciate the service. Thank you.

Dishonest. Very dirty. 8% Charge on all cards (even debit cards). Outrageous Charges. I was on my way to my military post when I ran into trouble with my truck in the middle of winter in Rawlins. USAA ordered my towing with Jack's Body & Fender repair (they may try to take you to Taylor's). Sean, the driver suggested I use his buddy's shop, Taylor's Autor Repair. I arrived at the shop, and explained that I was on my way to Denver to perform military duty. First thing, there are signs all over the shop saying "8% charge applied to all cards".They immediately wanted me to sign a document that said I would pay them for repairs, and I told them I wanted a quote first, but they insisted I sign. I asked them to show me what was wrong with the truck when they found it, and when they took me into the garage area, it was littered with piles of junk and filth. When I left the shop they quoted me ~$500 repair...sounded fine, until....I was still on duty when Taylor's called me to say they finished the truck and the final price had magically grown to over $800. I tried to dispute with no avail. When I tried to pay, they told me the 8% charge would be applied even if I use a debit card. I was still on duty, and would be trying to pick up my vehicle when the shop would already be closed. The owner made ZERO effort to work with me on getting him paid. I had to get special permissions to leave post during duty, to go to a bank and wire money to Taylor's. I highly recommend avoiding this shop at all costs.

I just feel like if they cannot find what is wrong and cannot help you that you should not be charged. I was charged nearly $112.00 just to be told they could not locate the problem. I ended up taking my car to a dealership to fix (please see my review on Brown's Towing in Rawlins). We are from Texas and our Toyota dealership charges $79. He is a mom and pop shop and he charges more than a dealership. Asked him to give me a ride to my hotel and he said his truck was to high off the ground. I am 53 years old and diabetic and I had to walk to my hotel. WOW!!!

What a scam. We’re traveling from Virginia and got some bad gas from a gas station just a few miles away. $90 to check for codes and test drive around the block. Advance auto, oreily and Napa all check codes for free. Don’t be fooled by these con artists for less than 30 minutes of work that any other shop would do for free. He had the audacity to try and tell me his code reader was 20k as I’m looking at the same one here at walmart for $20. Don’t waste your time here especially if you’re traveling.

Had a good experience in a bad situation here. I blew the engine while moving all my wife and I's belongings. Jack's down the road offered me $25 without even looking at my truck, Taylor's took the time to explain the likelihood that the truck couldn't be fixed, they looked at it, and then they explained the few options I had. If the shop weren't so busy and they looked at the truck a little earlier in the day, I'd give 5 stars. I was, nevertheless, pleased with the service I received here and recommend this shop.
