During my experience the following people helped me, Alex Soukup, Ryan Soukup, and Dave Reilly. Together they were a great team and very helpful in being able to purchase a vehicle from a different state. In addition, the videos conducted of the vehicles were top notch and very helpful in narrowing down which vehicle to purchase. To be honest, purchasing a vehicle is not my favorite thing, but my experience was pleasant and Summit auto will be the first place I look when I need to purchase again.

We stopped at Summit for my grandson. He had seen a car he wanted to test drive. They told us that car was across the street at their sister store. So we drive over there. After test driving, he wants to purchase the car. Next step, paperwork. Since it's late on a Saturday the salesman tells us, with a small down payment the car will be considered sold by the dealership. We should stop back Monday to pick it up. On Monday we went back to Summit at 5:00, our preset appointment time. We walk in and the salesman tells us we need to go across the street to finish up the financial papers. Really? Why not tell us that beforehand? That cost one star. Then, after the paperwork was done, he asked if there was anything more he could do for us or if we had any more questions. I said I thought it'd be really great if he threw in some free oil changes. Very quickly he snapped we don't do that. So I replied your competition does. He barked back well the competition uses recycled oil. That cost another star. We spoke the name of the competition in our conversation, but I won't print it here. I don't believe I would return to this dealership for a vehicle.

I had an outstanding experience working with Logan McDermott at Summit Automotive in Fond du Lac. We needed to purchase three vehicles within a two-week period as part of our business, so efficiency, preparation, and professionalism were especially important to us. I am very familiar with the vehicle purchasing process and take the time to research vehicles in advance, including reviewing Carfax reports and overall vehicle history. Before arriving, I had specific questions regarding brake condition, alignment after new tires, and overall readiness, as this vehicle will be used for my driving academy. Logan was responsive, knowledgeable, and accommodating, even coming in on his day off to ensure everything was addressed. When we arrived, the process was exactly as promised: straightforward, efficient, and stress-free. What truly set this experience apart was Logan’s attention to detail. While we were signing paperwork, he noticed the gas tank wasn’t completely full and took the initiative to drive the vehicle down the street to top it off. It’s those small but thoughtful actions that made Summit Automotive stand out as the easiest and best dealership we worked with during this process. This was one of the smoothest vehicle purchases we’ve had. I would absolutely work with Logan again and highly recommend him and Summit Automotive to anyone looking for a dealership that values preparation, transparency, and exceptional customer service.

I bought a Camaro ZL1 from Summit almost a year ago. Everything was okay for the most part other than the regular salesman BS of how many other people were interested in it and calling daily after I already put a deposit on it and finished up my paperwork. I buy the car and they have free “delivery” I asked will you be trailering it or putting it on a rollback? Salesman says “Don’t worry about a thing, we deliver tons of vehicles, never have any problems” The next day an old guy shows up, he drove my car 400 miles for the “delivery” I own a towing company, I’d have come and got it. It’s a ZL1 Camaro and the entire reason I bought it was the low mileage and now it has 400 more. It’s coming up on a year now and I still have never seen a title, I don’t have plates, the temp tag has long ago expired and I haven’t even paid the sales tax yet because I don’t have a title to take to the dmv to change into my name. I’ve called numerous times and the answer is “WI does things differently, MN is wierd” I’ve bought 5 cars from out of state and never once have I left without a title. I don’t even know if I own this car or not?

Buying a vehicle new or used has changed. The days of Eugene Levy in a poorly matched leisure suit selling Clark the Family Truckster are gone. Being a Gen Xer and remembering life before the intraweb and cell phones makes me a seasoned veteran of purchasing a vehicle. Now with online capabilities I found myself able to “inspect” a vehicle from the comfort of my home. That was the moment that all other dealers took a back seat. Summit and their walkthrough videos of their vehicles was something I’ve never encountered. It resulted in a phone call, an appointment being scheduled and all within a 5min talk. 1.5 hour drive led us to the Fond du Lac dealership. Mason was our truck concierge. 3 trucks were presented all warmed and running on a cold December night. After test drives and now getting close to their closing time on a Friday night, a selection was made. Mason was relaxed and not hurriedly trying to close the deal. As our end was in order, Mason confirmed everything was going to be good on their end. Saturday midday the very next day in under 1 hour, I was heading back South in our purchase. I cannot say enough about the quality, commitment, and dedication that is a standard at Summit. Buying vehicles for 40+ years, my next 40 I will be checking with Summit first for any future purchases. Thank you Mason, Dave, and the entire Summit Automotive team (especially the video guy!) Just leased a 2026 RAM 1500. To say Summit Auto went above and beyond to earn my business is an understatement! Ryan Knueppel (GM) was the facilitator of the entire process, and was truly exceptional all the way through. Tim Brenner (Finance) did a great job explaining all of the numbers, & made you feel comfortable while also having fun doing it. Ryan Soukup (Product Specialist) was amazing going through all of the features. You can tell he's very passionate, and it's not a surprise he was voted best salesperson in the area. Overall fantastic experience, the owners should be very proud of this team!

Went in to look at a Shelby GT350. Turns out they sold it 30 minutes before we got there. Totally understand as thats how buisness rolls. What happens next baffles me and left me speechless, which is forcing me to take my buisness elsewhere. To preface I have purchased 2 showroom floor vehicles from summit in the past and have only purchased 1 vehicle in my life that wasn't through summit. My family has also exclusively bought multiple vehicles from summit. 07/08/2025 When we found out the GT350 was sold my wife and I completely understood, and quickly moved on to inquire about another car on the lot (black GT500 and a black and red GT 500) we wanted to get some options on the table as we came to summit to purchase a car that day. My wife wanted to test drive the 2014 GT500. The salesman told her that it was company policy to do a credit app before she could. Mind you it's a $60k car that has been sitting outside on the lot which we already had cash and financing figured out so I wouldn't have done a credit app anyways. My wife looked at me and asked if I had to do a credit app when I bought my $70k truck before they pulled it off the showroom floor for me to test drive and I told her no. Then the salesman said it's because it was museum quality with only 4k miles on it at this point my wife and I couldn't believe this was experience was going so negatively. I bought a museum quality GT500 last year in Madison and the one Summit had was very nice but not museum quality by any means. In short I went there to purchase a car and left feeling that my buisness would be valued elsewhere and still in the market for a GT500 or GT350. Thank you for the many years of quality sales transactions but this experience might be it. Update: 07/11/25 Talked to manager, told us to deal directly with him. We decided to take our buisness elsewhere. Ended up buying a GT350 from Lenz, no games no hassle fair price, and whats most important, service after the sale has been amazing.

We saw a vehicle we were interested in on their website. Went to take a test drive on Tuesday, filled out a few forms and by Thursday we had our new (used) vehicle! We got a good price for our trade-in. Logan was great to work with, and Dave made the financing and paperwork very easy. We would highly recommend Summit Automotive to anyone looking for a good used car.

When attempting to purchase a car for my grand daughter who just turned 16 we found what we thought was a nice vehicle, but the sunroof didn't open more than a couple inches. After a discussion we still made an offer to purchase it accounting for part of what it would take to repair it. This dealership has the new insane "no haggle" policy so many others are adopting which they claim is to "save customer's time and aggravation " when we all know that isn't the case at all. Instead they said they would repair the sunroof, and we said we'd still want to buy it if they did. A few days later when they called and said it was repaired, and I agreed to finish the purchase. They sent me a link for the deposit which I paid immediately and we were to come pick it up when they opened for business again Monday morning. While they took my deposit and said we had a deal, instead they sold it out from under us before we came in to pick it up. They made no effort to make it right, and to add insult to injury they say it will take several days to refund my deposit. I find this to be very poor business and find them to be completely untrustworthy. I'm forced to give them 1 star in this review, but they deserve nothing even resembling a star. If they treated us like this pre-sale, I expect it would be even worse post sale. Buyer beware is too soft. Buyer RUN AWAY!

I would like to say thank you so much to Summit Auto Fond Du Lac and all their staff!!!! My experience with the purchase of the 2022 Z51 corvette was pleasant, effortless, very friendly, and courteous! The salesman Logan McDermott was very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the whole process on the high end super sports car!!! Also I would like to thank Dave in the finance dept. He was wonderful and did not do a high pressure sales on extended warranties!!! With that we did get the extended warranty for piece of mind. After buying many new cars from dealers, this by far was the most pleasant!!!!! An outstanding staff make the difference. Thank You again for an absolutely fantastic buying experience! Excellent experience. Prompt responses. Overnighted my title which was crucial for my business. Truck was as described, have been towing heavy with it for over week with no problems. Trade price was fair, and asking price of new truck was good. What more can you ask for. Shout out to Marty in sales and Colin in finance for excellent communication. I was an out of state buyer which complicates things a bit and they made things easy.

I am an out-of-state purchaser with Summit being in Wisconsin and my being in Texas. Jesse Slechta, Product Specialist, with Summit did a great job of working with my trade, giving me all the details needed to help me with my decision to purchase the rare-featured Ford F-250 Lariat. He then worked closely with my bank and took care of all the details. The transfer of the truck to me in Texas took a little longer than expected, but that detail does not reflect poorly on the great job done by Jesse and all others at Summit that made the sale happen. I have my truck and I am very happy with it, and appreciative. Go Summit Automotive!

His communication, professionalism, and personal touch made the entire process exceptional. We finalized all the figures before I made the trip, and the purchasing experience was smooth and easy. I’d give them more stars if I could, especially for offering FREE delivery to my home (1.5 hours away) and even throwing in some awesome Summit Automotive gear and a dog toy! Purchased a 2016 f-350 with 40,000 miles sight unseen from them. Was assured that the truck had been inspected and was road ready and that if anything was wrong with it upon arrival that they would stand behind it (they didn’t). The salesman Ryan arranged for it to be shipped here to Tennessee which went flawlessly as their shipper was awesome. Truck got here around 4 a.m. so I didn’t have time to inspect it before going to work, when I got home that afternoon the truck had a flat tire, after further inspection I found all 6 tires were dry rotted and unsafe even though they claimed they were in “great shape” so I had to put tires on it the next day. Also was assured rust wouldn’t be an issue but found rust in most of the body mounts that was conveniently not in their video that talked about how “rust free” the truck was. Passenger side mirror is also damaged (appears to be melted) which wasn’t disclosed to me. Overall the rest of the truck appears to be fine they could just be a little more honest with how they advertise their vehicles as I wouldn’t have purchased this one knowing all the issues I listed above considering it was already priced thousands above retail.

I traded my 2009 king ranch in for this 2019 Ram Limited Edition. While I’m super happy with the “new” Ram, my sales experience was less than stellar. I feel the trade in value I got was seriously undervalued and the Ram was not ready for sale before it was posted on the website. As you can see, the bed rails needed to be replaced and the tonneau cover installed. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS LISTED ON THE WEBSITE!!! I was told the truck would be ready by 4pm Friday afternoon but one of the bedrail covers they ordered didn’t arrive as expected. So I bought the truck and in the defense of the sales team they are going to pick up the truck from my work place and bring it back when everything is finished which is great. But AGAIN….They Shouldn’t have listed that truck until everything was ready! I would be hesitant to be a repeat customer.

1-11-23 Bought a 2019 GMC 3500,6.6 DURAMAX! Junk just 5,000 miles after numerous attempts for Ryan AND Jesse fall short. So last couple days I have been trying to work with these guys, they now the issues with the truck they sold me first they offered me 45,000 on trade and I talked to them said it was a little low. Finally they come around offer me 50,000 ok that's better, or do I keep the paper weight? So we start looking for a truck there test drove 5 trucks get a deal worked out. Great 50,000 my last truck 65,000 so 15,000 loss on my end. One would think. Let's not forget about the 16,000 I stuck into the truck already. So that's a 31,000 loss. So we get the deal worked out new truck with the 15,000 I'm over 84,000 ouch but ok called the bank bank says your all good. Called summit told the sales man all good on my. Said to Jessie just to be clear Ryan said it has to run, I said it does but like I stated this morning it has issues went over the issues and this is what Jesse state's, Not the best news honestly. So our used car manager Ryan M who sent the information to the wholesaler was not aware of the low compression in cylinder 2. I thought him and Ryan K had communicated about it but apparently they had not (Ryan K is actually off today) so the wholesaler was basing the value solely off of the DEF delete and just needing a new Turbo. Very sorry about the miscommunication but they said that the low compression is cylinder 2 means that it would need a whole new engine so the wholesaler will not touch it. Which I am guessing you had an idea about since you called to confirm everything. I do apologize I know you are in a frustrating situation but there really is just nothing we are going to be able to do here. If it just needed a new turbo or something of course we are trying to do everything we can to help but he will not take the truck needing a new engine. SORRY GUYS YOU SOLD A JUNK TRUCK! At the very least you should stand behind your junk! These were all items talked about in the morning before we started looking at trucks there again. So the dodge is the one we were looking at replacing the gmc with.

Edit: I purchased a new 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon from Summit about a month ago. I worked with Fred Toth on this Jeep and thus far have been happy with the experience. I feel that Summit has earned 5 Stars. I have had a few concerns with the new Jeep, but have been happy with the way they're being addressed. FYI the JLUR is a beast. 2 weeks after buying I took it offroading in Colorado and Utah. Previous review: I bought a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon here. Overall I'd rate it a good experience. I saw the Jeep on Autotrader, called them up to let them know I was interested, and set an apt. No pressure sale. They had it very clean and pulled up front. It was basically new and drove like it, with less than 9000 miles on it. Upon walking around prior to the sale, my buddy and I found some light scuffs that the salesman said they would take care of, and did on a follow up apt. The only reasons this isn't a 5 star review are: 1. It's my understanding that this was the dealership that originally sold and serviced this Jeep but the tires weren't rotated in a 5 tire rotation like they should have been. I didn't catch that it hadn't been done until I took it in for an oil change at 12,000 miles, and by then it was too late to incorporate it in. This is more of a pet peeve, but it really should have been done. 2. A day after purchasing I noticed the front hood spring was bent and that it was scratching paint on the radiator support. It needed to be replaced and I raised my concern to my salesman. I felt their response to my concern was not adequate and I ended up replacing the $10 part on my own dime. Thus the reason I initially gave them 4 Stars. I don't ask for much, but if I buy a $38,000 vehicle and discover a $10 part needs replacement a day later, it would be good customer service to just replace the part. The pictures included are of both the 2017 and the 2019.
