I was scheduled for a vehicle pickup and spent my entire Saturday waiting for this company to arrive. As the scheduled time came and went, no one called, texted, or provided any update. I had to call the broker, who then informed me that my original 8:00 a.m. to noon pickup window had been pushed back to 3:30 p.m. I understand that delays happen and schedules change. What I do not understand is failing to communicate with customers and then claiming contact was attempted when there is no evidence of it. A simple phone call explaining the situation would have been appreciated and would have saved me from wasting an entire day waiting. What made the experience even worse was being told that attempts had been made to contact me. My phone showed no missed calls, no voicemails, and no messages.
When I tried calling the company myself, no one answered and the voicemail box was full. Then, at 3:00 p.m., after wasting nearly the entire day waiting, I received a cancellation notification. At no point did anyone have the courtesy to call and explain the situation or apologize for the inconvenience. It felt as though my time had no value to them whatsoever.
This experience highlights a fundamental failure in how this company chooses to do business. Delays are understandable. Poor communication, making customers chase updates, and then claiming contact was attempted when it was not are not. A business model built on wasting customers’ time and avoiding accountability is not one that inspires confidence.
Tugtown scheduled to pick up vehicle during a four hour window. Total of seven calls made to tugtown by buyer and seller over a two day period went straight to voicemail. Never returned calls or showed up. Presumably it was not worth their time. It was a one off situation, so at least will not have to deal with them in the future.
Had an emergency while traveling from out of state. The level of care and kindness from Spencer is unmatched. Tugtown was transparent on the timing to arrive, and got me where I needed to go. With all the stress of trying to deal with a flat tire, the towing service was by far the easiest part to get through. Thank you to these guys for amazing service.
Sold my car to Peddle and everything was same day service . Spencer from Tugtown was assigned and he showed up to Va Beach in a timely manner. He had exceedingly great communication and the process was smooth as possible. He even took the time to be friendly and considerate to my children. This experience was great from start to finish. Highly recommended 10/10 service !
When junking our vehicle, Peddle contracted out Tugtown to do the pickup. Sam, the driver this day, was very nice, personable, and also professional. Due to this experience I would absolutely consider Tugtown in the future should I need any towing services.
Just want to say these guys come through for me when I need them. Have had instances where the kids need a tow and myself and they always come through. Last night I hit a deer and needed them, within 20 minutes they had a truck hooking up to my Yukon and taking me home. These guys are rock solid.
I don't have the words to adequately describe how great of a company this is! I'm 9 months pregnant and was stranded after AAA and numerous towing companies flaked on us. By the Grace of God I came across Mike and Tugtown Towing!!
He came out of his way in the middle of the night to help and get us to safety. He was professional, timely, reasonably priced, and kind! He was very informative and constantly kept me updated.
