We had friends traveling to visit come down with car trouble. Westlake automotive had great reviews so we tried them. Wow. Professional, polite, and very helpful, these guys went out of their way to help. We couldn't have asked for a better experience

Takes weeks or more to get an Apointment and if you aren't in a hurry or don't have an emergency it's the only show in town!

Best in SML if not the Roanoke/Lynchburg area. Always professional and very trustworthy!

Very honest and fair... Finally an auto shop I trust! Another local shop said I should consider a new engine for $6k and Roger and his crew figured how to fix the problem for less $300. I recently bought a car and trailer from them and it was a pleasure to deal with good people. That's who you got here - good people.

Honest and professional people. Prices on the high side, but that what you get for a nice, clean, capable outfit.

Update - the owner did reach out after posting this review and offered to send me a check to refund the diagnostics fee, which I really appreciate. I also appreciate the follow up. He explained that they don’t use the internet to procure parts which may result in parts costing more.. Either way, the owner is extremely nice and definitely values customer service. I’ll leave my original review below for transparency but after speaking with the owner I do believe this shop has the best intentions and my situation with them was not typical. I’m giving this a solid 2 stars only because the gentleman who answered the phone every time I called was so very kind. And I was calling daily for over a week to see if they had gotten to check my vehicle yet. Long story short, my car broke down near this shop. I had it towed to them, it sat over a week before they looked at it. I understand staffing issues so I was okay with the wait. However, when they did look at it they told me it was the exhaust manifold/catalytic converter combo. Keep in mind the vehicle is a cheap car used as a commuter and might be worth $3500 on a good day… Anyways, I was quoted $4000 for the repair with OEM parts and $2050 with aftermarket. I was quoted $1600 for the aftermarket part alone, a quick search of the exact part came up with prices between $108 and $300. No where near $1600. I was honestly shocked and very disappointed, at this point I just sent a tow truck to pay the bill and get the car to a different garage. It’s back on the road now with less than $500 invested. Still haven’t figured out the motivation of quoting me $4000 OEM and $2000 Aftermarket for a job that took only a few hours by an experienced mechanic and less than $200 in parts… I think maybe they just really didn’t need/want the work. Or maybe they thought I’d just pay it… I’m not sure. But if you find yourself broke down along the road in Moneta I do not recommend towing your vehicle to Westlake unless you’re in no hurry and have very disposable cash flow.

They did what they said they were going to do and in the timeframe in which I was told they would do it. Charlie was a pleasure to work with. I will happily do business with them again in the future.

I have had two vehicles serviced at Westlake Auto for many years. They have always provided excellent first class services. I also highly recommend Westlake for tire purchases. They provide free rotation of the tires they sell and go out of their way to be sure you are fully satisfied with your purchase.

I asked them to expedite my car alignment due to an out of town emergency. They were very helpful and accommodating.

I have always had very good experiences here, and I trust their mechanics to do things right. Charlie, Roger, and Derek are always very helpful and will put in the extra effort for their customers!

Excellent service and super friendly! Immediately identified a tire problem that saved us from a blowout on the road. They also went above and beyond to fix a front-end alignment problem on my son's truck.

I have never had better automotive service in my life. They always go above and beyond and only one I trust with our cars. Prices are very reasonable. Nice waiting area with tv, wifi, and coffee. If your car is beyond repair, they can help you find a replacement used car too.

Excellent shop, very impressed with their service. We came into town for a vacation with a slow leak in one tire. Despite having a full schedule they squeezed us in between other appointments. Within an hour they had the tire repaired, mounted, and had re-secured the spare under the truck bed, all for less than $50.

Service is always good and fair. The guys that run the place are great at communicating any problems or issues. We have used them for over 10 years with multiple cars with no problems.

I called this business at 12:45pm on 12/22/22. I very calmly explained that I had a flat tire, am a local resident, and needed to leave town on 12/23/22 for the Christmas holiday and urgently needed to get the tire fixed/changed. The person that answered the phone said, “sorry, we don’t keep tires in stock.” I then said, “If I was your mother and was leaving town tomorrow what advice would you give to her?” He very flippantly responded with, “I would tell her to fix it herself because she knows how to do so…” For a business whose main job is to help those with automotive issues I was flabbergasted that someone would give an answer like this - especially over the holiday season when it’s especially important to treat others with dignity and respect.

These are top notch people. The work very hard to be sure your vehicle is fixed correctly and they stand behind the work they do. A good trusted vehicle service shop when you need it. Great service and great people.

I have nothing but great things to say about everyone at Westlake auto. They're straight forward and honest mechanics. It's sad to say but I haven't seen much of that since moving to this area. I highly recommend checking them out. You won't be disappointed.

I am over 50 years old, and have lived in at least 4 states and have been the person to bring in our cars for routine maintenance, as well as diagnosing and fixing problems. In my entire life, I have never had the honest, professional, fair-priced experiences that I have had here ever since they opened and I met Roger more than 10 years ago. This is the ONLY place I will bring our cars. My daugher and son-in law live in NY and when they drive here to visit, they make an appointment to have the required service / maintenance done at Westlake Automotive. That is how good this place is!

The best automotive repair experience that a customer can have. They have kept my families vehicles performing well for over a decade. They are always professional, knowledgeable, pleasant, honest and fair.

Can't say enough good things about them. High quality work, trust-worthy, fair prices, friendly and attentive staff, spotless facility. Best place I have ever dealt with in 60 years of driving.

Westlake Auto is a great addition to the Lake. Great customer service, high integrity, quality work and very reasonable prices. Always willing to go the extra mile to satisfy their customers. The shop is also very clean and organized. They had a great Customer Appreciation Day Saturday to celebrate 10 years at the Lake.

Update: I definitely do not have the wrong facility. Of course you wouldn't have anything. I am sure everything was tossed when I left. You are directly across the street from the State Farm office, where you should no longer expect to receive any referrals from. I had the Buick that when you guys initially received it (via first thing in the morming and towed in where my name and phone number were provided with a discription of the issue), let sit untouched until I called in to follow up (since I had not heard anything from anyone) around 4 that day. I was told that you had no idea where the vehicle came from or whose it was, that you were waiting and hoping that someone would call about it. Worst place in the area to take a vehicle and trust they diagnose it correctly and HONESTLY. Make sure you don't go if you're a female. They take advantage of the fact that they believe you don't know a lot about cars. They come up with an over $2,000 job and then refuse to give you a diagnostic printout of what is wrong. They obviously didn't want anything in writing as proof that they were telling me things were needed that were not. I was talked down to and treated very disrespectfully. Not one conversation I had with anybody working there was handled in a professional manner. When I went to pick up my car my keys were thrown at me across the counter.

Had a daughter call me with sudden car problems, did the Google thing and found these guys. Both Roger and Charley were exceptional in this world and yet they were just the normal, great people you would want to help your kid out of a jam hundreds of miles away. Thanks for all that you did.

These guys care about their customers. It is a shop you can trust, I do. I deliver mail with my vehicles and they help me to keep them in excellent condition. They fix what needs fixing and tell you about any up-coming issues they may notice so you can have them repaired before they cost more then they should or before you break down on the road.

I completely trust these guys with all of my automotive needs. I never feel like I'm being taken advantage of, they always explain what they are doing in full detail AND are straightforward with my options. I won't take my car anywhere else.
