Today I was an hour away from home with my 8 month old when my wheels started making a horrible screeching sound. I was frantically and freaking out when I pulled into Hometown Tire, the nearest garage on Google. I was met by the owner at the front desk with a comforting smile. He had his team of mechanics stop what they were doing to check out my car immediately, no call ahead or appointment for me. Within ten minutes they had resolved the issue and sent me on my way. It was an easy fix for them that I would have paid hundreds of dollars if necessary and the owner refused payment because it was so easy for them. I can't begin to express how grateful I am so have been treated so wonderfully by an honest auto repair garage. I will be returning to this business for all my future needs.

I’m always so grateful for these folks and the service they provide! Every time I’m out of town and visit other shops around the country, because I must, I am reminded of how all shops are not equal and do not provide the quality of service that Hometown does!

I have been a client of hometown for 8 years and my folks even longer. They've always treated us so well, fair prices, short repair times, honesty and integrity; however, they just lost a decade of loyalty to one incredibly unprofessional phone call. On September 20th 2024, I brought my 2007 Honda Fit to Steve to take a look at some service lights and a funny noise. He fully diagnosed it on the spot, told me I needed to bring it back for a new transmission and new brakes and that he'd call some parts companies and get back to me with an estimate. He never contacted me again. A few nights ago, 12/2/24, my engine started billowing smoke late in the evening and I emergently had my car towed to hometown after hours, thinking that as a loyal customer with a car they’ve seen recently, they may be able to get me in. Instead, I got a phone call from Steve telling me that they have never and will never work on Honda Fits, my car is blocking the plows (there is no snow) and that I need to bring it elsewhere. I asked for a recommendation, and he told me that no one will work on a Honda fit and he won't send me to one of his friends. I brought up the diagnostics he did, and he told me that when he did it "6 months or a year ago" (actual timeline = 10 weeks) that he did indeed call me back with prices, "or maybe left a message". So in one conversation he both admitted that he did work on my car and looked into parts but also said that he has never worked on my car and won't in the future. I think I asked one more question and he told me my keys were in the cup holder and hung up on me. Great business, Steve!

You couldn’t find a better place if you tried! My family and I were visiting Vermont when our breaks blew. We called every repair place in Stowe and further out trying to find somewhere to get them fixed. Every place said they couldn’t that they didn’t have time. We were supposed to check out of our hotel the next day. My kids had commitments back home I had work. We finally found Hometown. Not only did they say yes bring it up we will get it done. They repaired them for a fair price. Less than half what some places quoted to maybe be able to fit it in. When we went to pick up the car we found the NICEST people that own the place. They were kind and shared stories of their family with us. If I lived in Vermont I would never go anywhere but here for my servicing. Out of this world. Fair, honest, and kind. One of a kind business. As an added bonus they only use US parts. We joked that we would make the trip up for any major repairs.

I can’t say enough good things about this local business. Steve and his team have been taking care of me for several years and I wish I found them sooner. I stopped by today with a sticking brake caliper. They were busy, but insisted on me leaving the car so they could make sure it was safe. In about an hour one of the team members personally delivered my vehicle (I work across the street) and explained the issue. all set. Thank you, Steve and team!

I stopped in because I had very low tire pressure in one tire. I asked for a little air for the tire. The man behind the desk was the rudest person I have met in a long time. He actually spit part of his sandwich at me letting me know in no uncertain terms they wouldn't do it. I am 78, and in good health, but I do qualify as a senior, so a little kindness would have gone a long way. I would never, ever go there again under any circumstances.

Steve and his crew are very friendly, with incredible service. I use them for my business and personal vehicles. Waiting room is like a country living room, warm and cozy.

You really won't find this great customer service anywhere else! Especially not in their service industry! Steve and his team helped find a set of winter tires for me last minute when the ones I had bought turned out to be the wrong size! They are true miracle workers! And you can tell by how they all work together that the work environment is great too! If you need your tires changed, or anything really, there is nowhere better! I'm definitely going to be a repeat/lifetime customer now.

Hometown Tire is amazing. They are affordable, trustworthy, and reliable. They really know their stuff too. Once we found them, we don't go anywhere else for anything car related. They've sold us tires, we've had brakes and pads replaced, changed to winter tires, oil changes, etc. They are pretty fast too. Came to get my tires switched to winter tires - arrived at 7 am and there were already 5 people ahead of me ? - Steve said it'll be a while if I'm choosing to wait. A while is one hour. To me, that's not a while, that's pretty average if not quick. But that's how fast they get you in and out. They're awesome, humble and all around cool people. Gotta love high quality family owned businesses. Highly recommend.

Amazingly nice people to work with! Looked at my truck for a suspension issue and when determined it was work they didn't do, recommended me to another shop and charged me nothing for their time. Immediately decided that these were my new guys for work, and brought my Truck back 2 weeks later for a State Inspection. Got me straight in , no wait, and didn't wait long at all for the inspection to be completed. Highly recommend.

Super friendly and very reasonable. I was sent here from my boss at work and they did not disappoint. I felt like they were very fair and didn't try to upcharge me whatsoever. Definitely going back when I need more work done!

By far, HomeTown Tire & Auto Service is THE BEST automotive experience I've ever had! I know that I'll receive the best advice and care for my vehicle, performed by professionals that truly are experts in their work. Every step in the repair process is explained, in detailed, so I know what's happening to my vehicle and why. The waiting area in their facility is exquisite and feels just like you're waiting in your family living room. My family has been bringing their vehicles here for years, and we know we can call Steve and his team with any question or concern. I cannot recommend them enough!

I needed a last minute State inspection and a friend recommended Hometown Tire & Auto. I can't say enough good things about Steve and his crew. Steve, the owner, was very informative in discussing all aspects of the work his crew performed. When I asked questions about future repairs or items I might need for my car, Steve never tried to upsell any service or products, and was factual and honest with what my vehicle did or did not need. I can't recall the last time I experienced this level of excellence when my car needed service. Also, the waiting area is extremely comfortable. I will be back for sure! Thanks Steve!!! Hi, my name is David. I just want to start by saying Steve was as polite a owner as I have dealt with. I had a bad wheel bearing and no one else could get me in to fix. I’m so glad I found their number and called, he got me in the next day and fixed everything. They are the only shop getting my business from now on. Very professional, excellent work that they stand by.

Update 8/2020: Again, simply amazing service. Brought my car in because brake we're making noise. I said I believed I needed new front pads and rotors, as I thought I was hearing the wear indicators. Steve got me in on a Monday Morning, after I had called the previous late Friday afternoon. When I dropped the car off, it was like to an old friend. Talked about previous repairs, and how 2020 was crazy so far. Then I left to walk for an hour. When I got back, Steve let me know they had brought it in, and inspected it. Turns out the brake cylinders and pistons where dirty, and not operating correctly, and all it needed was a good cleaning. Plenty of rotor and pad left. So I said "wow, what do I owe you, and he said, " no charge at all!" I am due for state inspection in Oct, and they will look again. I'm just blown away by the incredible service I get here. I will, of course, do all my maintenance here, and also refer anyone I know. Any negative reviews of this business must be fake or from competitors. There has never been another place as well run, friendly, fair, and honest as Hometown Tire and Auto. (past) I can not understand some of the lower reviews of this business. They got us in quickly, showed us a few things that needed to be done, and didn't charge us for several extras that they did. The showroom is like a Taj Mahal compared to most auto repair facilities, and immaculate. Meeting them for the first time, we were treated like family. I have found my new auto repair "home." FOLLOW UP 5/22/2019 Again, amazed by the 5-star customer service and extremely fair pricing. This place is a gem, and I kick myself for bring my cars to other places before. Thank you, Hometown!

My family has been bringing their cars here for nearly 30 years. Steve is straightforward and honest, and all work done has been stellar. As a single woman, I have never felt like I have been disrespected or taken advantage of price wise. Everyone I refer here is happy with the results as well. I'll be bringing my cars here for the next thirty years as well!

Spoke with the owner Steve on the phone about getting tires installed. He was confident about getting them on right away and made it a point to say "we're just waiting on you". I wanted to make sure they had the ability to mount large tires (40") before loading the 100lb a piece tires into the vehicle and heading down there. He was so impatient I was unable to finish my sentence. It was my mistake for going down there. I show up at the shop and expressed the desire to unload my vehicle. And with that, he kicked me out of the store with complete rudeness talking about customer service and trust. Trust is earned. I dont know if he is a good mechanic or not but I do not recommend this shop for lack of people skills, lack of kindness and understanding.

Called at 8am for an appointment to get my state inspection done. Flexible openings all day. Was in and out under half an hour and they installed new windshield wipers. Owner is friendly and doesn't push product on you, I knew I needed new windshield wipers. Cheaper than the place I went last year for my inspection and done in a fraction of the time. Will go here for all my automotive needs! Thanks ?

I placed a call to inquire regarding inspection of one of my vehicles, made the appointment. Then tried to proceed to question regarding repair of two other vehicles I own and Steve the owner slammed the phone down in my ear and hung up on me!!! I tried to call back twice and no one would answer the phone. (Must be caller ID) Huge mistake because I own 5 vehicles and just moved to the area!! So was looking for a garage to take over maintenance of my vehicles. TRUST ME IT WILL NOT BE THIS PLACE!!! Their comments back to unhappy customers on their reviews, shows the type of business and owner!!

I completely disagree with some of the bad comments here. We've taken two cars there for years. Never a problem. I thought there was an issue with my front brakes. They said there was just some dirt on the rotor, cleaned it off, NO CHARGE! They have worked great since. Another time there was a mix up on tire size. Was given a great discount for my "inconvience". I will continue to go to Hometown!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Steve, the owner, is one of the rudest people alive. For no good reason whatsoever he literally got in the face and SCREAMED at a great dear friend of mine who drove into his garage looking for help (she was a previous customer of theirs). Steve went into a rage because she (according to him angrily) "had an inspection sticker from [another local auto place]" (his competition). For this reason only he rudely asked to to vacate his shop - "get out and never come back!" She has never been treated this meanly and rudely in her entire life and left in tears. She cried for hours. She later told her husband about her experience (who called to find out why Steve treated his wife so horribly). Steve replied hotly "I am a multi-millionaire and don't even need business from pieces of [expletive] like you." If this is the kind of person who runs this place, he will never have my business and I hope he goes out of business and loses his "millions of dollars."

Excellent Service! Very friendly and honest! I highly recommend Hometown Auto! I have used them for myself and I also refer my customers to them all the time. They stand behind their work and treat customers like family and friends. I would give 10 stars if I could!

Great place, great people. Steve was honest and got the job done fast! There was no unnecessary work done which I appreciate. The mechanics appeared professional. They offered me a ride when I dropped my car off which is a great bonus. I will definitely use them for all of my future needs. The waiting area was very comfortable. Thanks for a great service.

I have had both vehicles serviced here for the past 3 years. They were highly recommended. The mechanics are quick. I have an old car that has needed a lot of work and hometowns always given me very reasonable prices for expert service. I always recommend Hometown for those looking for excellent work and customer service!

This company has the public all fooled has a Mrs Doubtfire feel waiting room makes you feel you can trust this company further from the truth. Recently had $700.00 worth of done sway bars, exhaust system, was told ready for inspection was a little to early so waited for two months. Went back different person a counter was told he was the owner said I was there for my inspection. Waited and was asked to go in garage to look at things that would not pass inspection. Was told exhaust was loud and needed to be replaced. Immediately I told him that his company just but that exhaust system on and he said that wasn't his type exhaust and I have must of got it some other place it was a below market and he wouldn't have put that on my car. And that he didn't recognize me and I have must got the work done at the company that was in front of his. His wife was the person that waited on me the day I had my work done and they gave me a ride to work. I showed him the receipts and with all the work he did and admitted he was wrong and he still wouldn't have put that exhaust system on. He said he wouldn't put the correct exhausted system on and would not stand behind the work that was done in his shop. I'm taking this company to small claims court... BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE DO NOT GET WORK DONE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
