My fiance's car was towed late last night for a violation. We were not upset about this, we understand the reason it was towed and have no reason to dispute it. The issue came the next morning when we called 15 times over the course of 3 hours, leaving multiple voice mails and received nothing back. We then drove to the address online and was told that we were in the wrong place, but we had no way to find the new address unless they were not answering their phone. We ended up finding the car's towing information online and driving to the new address available there. We sat there for an hour before someone showed up and finally got the owner on the phone. This place claims to be 24/7 but isn't and has terrible communication/organization. I don't understand how they're still in business. Texas law requires 24/7 towing companies to return calls in a timely manner (>1 hour). They did not.
It’s not open 24 hours. It’s one employee and he’s never there. You can’t get your stuff if he’s not there. It is just some guys house. He steals your vehicles for ransom. On top of that the address is completely wrong wasted about $50 in uhaul gas and miles because they can’t get their business straight on google…I use the term business lightly
Just read all the other reviews, all are legit. My car got towed in my apartment complex with a valid parking sticker they said I wasn't in an authorized parking spot but mind you every single parking spot in this apartment complex is not painted. I have been parking in the same spot for the year that l've lived here as well as other people. Just contact TDLR like I did.
They didn't update AutoReturn's system. I guess law enforcement didn't either. Had no way knowing my car was towed until I got a letter in the mail. I called 311 and was told to call 911 because they thought it was stolen. I talked to the county and made a stolen car report. The reception at the theft yard said they reported to the county. I guess the county didn't do anything? I had to pay nearly $600 because of that. Seems predatory. They're probably gonna reply by saying it's not their job or something, or that it's my fault. I regret moving here. Austin is one of the worst places to live. Working 2 jobs and still having to live in my car, which was taken.

After my stolen car was recovered, the police had it towed to Austin Frontier Towing. I was not looking forward to dealing with a tow yard due to past experiences. But the lady that helped me at the yard was so very nice. It's a horrible experience to go thru when your car is stolen but she talked to me very patiently and explained how the procedure would work. I felt my car was safe at her location. Thank You, June Cannon
No one likes getting there car towed. But Irene the dispatcher was a breath of fresh air compared to most other companies. She was understanding and kind not what you usually get with towing companies.
If you're going to screw people over, have the decency of being at the tow yard so I can pick up the car that was towed.
When I went there was nobody to be found and called and they said give us a 1 hour notice. A 1 hour notice was not mentioned on the first phone call
Let me start out by saying that Irene is a wonderful human being!! Despite the negative reviews she genuinely wanted to help me get my truck back which she did. As most I was very upset but talked to her in a calm manner and that went a long way. My truck was towed this morning because I was double parked at my apartment complex. What I thought was acceptable parking was in fact not acceptable. Regardless of the poor parking by adjacent vehicles I advise everyone to protect their vehicle by always parking between the lines. If you don't fit between the lines then just find another spot. Thank you Irene!!

I'm $375 sure the the properties must get a kickback to allow this company free range on towing. Security tells us where to park but fails to mention a pass is needed in visitors' parking. A tow doesn't cost that much, something fishy happening in Texas. The staff is nice when receiving that payment.

Outside of Austin city limits charge $272, plus another $40ft for having a 25ft trailer.

I live literally 4 minutes from this place and i had a 16ft trailer not 25 like they said, but that doesn't matter because they will charge you whatever they can.
Had a conversation with Irene* where i was called aggressive for trying to understand how you can reason towing a vehicle from a carport that we own and pay for every month. I asked for a manager because i did not appreciate the tone in which this person was speaking with me and got told there’s no manager that works there… This is the MOST unprofessional encounter I’ve ever experienced. I would like the owner or manager to please reach out to me regarding this interaction. This is completely unacceptable behavior. I was told false information multiple times, I was yelled at, and was refused the right to speak with management. This is a ridiculous way to conduct business.
I had my car back in under fifteen minutes, and the lady I spoke with was polite and professional. No damage either so all's well that ends well I guess. Learned an expensive lesson about not parking overnight where I shouldn't but life goes on.
PSA: They towed your car, they're NOT the people who HAD your car towed! Try to factor out your anger.
Spencer Murphy is the most disrespectful person I had dealt in my whole live. They took my car from my property (apartment complex) because it was considered abandoned , just because I did not move the car in 48 hours for what he says. He threw my drivers license at me after I asked for him to help since they took it wrongfully. I ended up calling the police and he had to give it to me without a fee because they did wrong . The owner should pay more attention who is in charge of his business. I will be submitting a formal complaint to the Texas Licensing and regulations.
Edit: No, Austin Frontier Towing. I did not park in a handicap spot. You illegally towed my sisters car from the apartment parking lot, stating the car looked abandoned because of “rusty break pads” over a long weekend where we could not contact the apartment office. Your establishment has been contacted after the apartments said that you did not have authorization to tow the vehicle in question, and the situation has been settled with you refunding the $400 that she had to pay to get the car back following the illegal tow. I definitely got over charged the guy charged me $250 just to pull out some mud. Didn’t take me no where ridiculous. My car was not impounded, it was literally just pulled out a real scam a robbery.
Very rude lady at the desk. When asked why is a storage charge for >25 ft. vehicle storage on the bill for a small sedan, she yelled that the >25 ft. implied that the length of the lot is bigger than 25 ft and has nothing to do with the length of the car. Atleast know what you're charging the customer for and don't raise your hands and walk away yelling I don't know when questioned about them.
I don't expect to have a very happy experience at an impound but don't be unnecessarily rude towards people.
They are crooks! Very rude! Took a 100% Disabled Veterans handicapped placard from window and towed the car and claimed it wasn't hanging. Then told us we can only get the car if we pay cash to pick up. SOMETHING is not okay with this. There are literally 2 handicapped placards in the car! All the proof in the world that this car belongs to a handicapped person yet they've been extremely rude and unprofessional while just trying to get information. Watch out for these guys. They are definitely preying on the vulnerable. Any descent human being would not treat people the way that they do. Just horrible!
Very unprofessional, one of your workers were towing our car , we came out to move it and he started harassing us. He also took a picture of me without my permission, since he was harassing us I defended myself. He took a picture of me without my permission and that’s illegal. He also was harassing a minor.
They charged me about 230 dollars to take out a vehicle that was impounded for about 3 hours max. We realized my dads car had got towed maybe an hour after they got it, then when we called, we had to wait another hour for someone to get to the office to be able to release the vehicle. The location the vehicle was towed from was literally 5 min away from their office, but we still had to wait an hour.
They have a lady in a parking lot calling the tow truck. She said "there is a sign" which is true but it's only visible to people leaving the parking lot, not entering it! (I have pictures to prove it). My brother was only parked there for a few minutes. His car was gone and he saw this lady talking to the tow truck driver. She was the one calling them. She said, oh we're not far away, just go there and they'll give you your car.
Well yeah. He still had to pay about $200! So dishonest.
This is a horrible company, I call to get service to have someone towed out of a reserved PAID PARKING and I can't receive a professional reply on a ETA. HIRE NEW CREW IS NEEDED.
This is the second time now that I have called and I get the same EXCUSE on ETA, I'm a paying resident for parking and when I call to get service for parking violation, I expect FAST SERVICE as advertised. I don't know the young man that takes these calls but that individual needs to be fired.
Having your car towed it a terrible experience, there's no way around that but Irere went out if her way to make the experience bearable.
After a misscommunication with the parking at our AirB&B we came out to a missing car. Irene called me back immediately, gave clear instructions and cost summary. Because she came to pick us up we were not late to the races!

Predatory towing practices. I am visiting my son from out of town and my vehicle was towed from his parking lot. The lady on the phone called me a liar when I told her where I was parked. She said it wouldnt have been towed otherwise. Liars, cheats and thieves... should have expected nothing less... Companies such as this operate in the margins of the law, mostly in compliance but to a minimum. Only doing what they have to. Predatory towing is just such an instance. Cruising parking lots in the middle of the night, selecting newer models or out of state. Scum, pure scum.
As far as towing companies go, I have been really impressed with Austin Frontier Towing. I understand that people are mad that their vehicles were towed but it isn't the towing company that is at fault for people not following the rules. The staff has been really friendly and they get you in and out of there quickly. I appreciate how quickly they answer the phone. If people did what was expected with their vehicles, there wouldn't be problems.
Effin B that answered the phone was beyond rude... Guess that's how people are when they have something you need... I called to check on my truck asked what happened to get me towed and she says well what do u need to know?!? Seriously!?! She had a complete attitude and didn't give a ish how she was talking to me... Typical tow truck companies... No regards for peoples feelings!!! Not like we can call on them for a reasonable need... Learn how to treat people... Think if it was you!! Smfh
Updated review: I did call crying because I was just released from the hospital to find my truck gone and had a family member park it which was in my old spot by accident. My last experience with your company was actually really good this time I was frustrated with the way I was talked to like I was stupid. However yes I was out of line for the way I spoke, hopefully IF I am able to come get it we can have the same positive experience as before.
I’d recommend this company and disregard the negative comments .Further investigation on the comments it seems like fault was their own and not the companies due to their lack of what seems like them not following the rules. I was treated with respect and the gentleman who handled my service was very polite and helpful. The gentleman being a representative of the company shows frontiers value and customer service quality is exceptional. Thanks again guys!
Illegally towed my vehicle. Everyone beware. Contact TDLR for complaints on these people. They will tow your car and charge you 190 dollars to get it out. They did not check the business park to ensure i wasn’t in a business, which i was.
Edit: And now you see the professional manor in which you will be treated by this scam of a company. I’d love to see your video of me not being at any of the businesses. Please contact me with that information. You’ll be greeted with this attitude in the phone and at their location. When i confronted them in person they began to cut me off an use my car for ransom instead of answering my questions by repeatedly saying “do you want the car or not do you want the car or not.” Please be aware of these people. Best of luck if you have a run in with them. Check with the other “RAVING”reviews of this towing company and tell me I’m lying about them.
First this is not an attack on the people who work there, so for the person that works there who is responsible for reading and responding to these reviews don't take it to personally I understand that this is just a job to make ends me. Try to understand from another hard working person before trying to play the victim card as seen in previous comment.
From my experience this company will make any number of excuses from A to Z as to why they towed your car and fabricate information as they see fit. I strongly recommend that everyone who goes threw this file a complaint with TDLR as I have.
They wrongfully towed my car and then lied to my face about how 'perfectly legal' their actions were, when in fact everything about my case was not. They refused to give information about disputes, or a reason for the tow without first paying their fees essentially holding my car for ransom. They admitted to towing my car on their own accord and not checking with the business if the car they were towing was a costumer (which I was). They violated TDLR standards and did not leave a tow note, leading me to initially believe my car may have been stolen.They admitted to stalking the lot they tow from then quickly changed their story to casually passing by and suddenly noticing an out of place car (again not true). These are examples of the lack of respect I received from them as a person, and that was the most unsettling and disappointing part of the entire transaction. Rather than treating me like another person, they saw me as just another 200 bucks. I hope for any one who has had to deal with the wrongful towing this company does will see this review and take just a moment to file a complaint with TDLR. Even if you don't think it will help you, think about the next person and lets help each other out by showing business like this that doing something illegal is punishable by law. Don't let them get away with it, don't let them see you as just a way to make cash. Thanks for reading.
