These people are scammers. They miscalculated the weight of my truck and fabricated a peso to win in their favor. I told the girl and the guys that I would remount my material, and their response was that I didn't have time for that. I actually ended up robbed by these people. I would not recommend it or return here. 10/18/25
Not gonna lie if ur a first timer and ya got alot of questions EXSPECIALLY almost closing time ur gonna agravate the heck out of them but go a few times and they treat you like u work there lol...They have fair prices and and treat you right good professional buisness...
Awesome staff that get you in and out, get you the most money for your metal and dont hide the weight of your metal. The staff takes the time to make sure the metal you bring goes into the right category so you dont have to worry about getting screwed over on the money you work hard for.

I have used most of the bigger yards in the tri-county area in the past 5 years scrapping full time. I have yet to find a better recycling center. The staff is courteous and friendly, knowledgable, and not looking to downgrade your material at every examination. The prices are better than any other or at the very least on par with the better yards from Georgetown to Marble Falls to deep in south Austin. If you are a pro and want to deal with professionals and you haven't been here, take my word for this. You won't be disappointed and I would bet they become your go to yard from then on. I drive an hour one way to go there because it is worth it. There are yards closer, but Wrights makes it worth the drive. Every time. That is professional.
Best place to take your recycling, the crew there always in a happy and friendly mood.been there so many times and always got paid good for my stuff. Took my sister today to sell her recycling cans, and she was pleased with the pay. I totally recommend this place for your recycling thing.

This is the very best recycling yard in Austin, Texas. I have had some really bad experiences with the other recycling yards. To my surprise very knowledgeable in the types of metals on first site, and very competitively priced always eager to help get your recyclable materials where they belong
Nothing but a scrap metal place. I never been anywhere else in Austin. I'm sure there's other places, Wright recycling is fair and honest. What else can you say?
Great place with best prices to take ur scrap. I drive an hour to get there but u can't beat the friendliness of the employees. They're the best if ur gonna scrap take it ti wright's and get treated fair.
As much as I like having a place to bring cans to recycle, my car has been damaged twice from driving in the lot. The first time, a guy banged a wheel well into our car and left a white 6" scratch mark on our black trim. The second time, we realized there was a nail in our tire. I have no proof the nail was from there, but I was nervous driving in there the whole time because I could see scraps laying around everywhere and it's the most likely place for us to get a nail in our wheel.
I don't think I can go back now. Otherwise it's great, so I'm really disappointed.
This is the first and only place that I have been to since moving here 5 years ago. I've only been once and ALL the staff were absolutely phenomenal!! I will be coming back today for a second visit, hoping the great service is still there!!
I've been in many recycling centers in Austin and this is by far the best one. They are honest and paying well for your scrap metal. One of the few places in town that opens on Saturday too (From 8AM-1:30PM). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Very professional, quick and easy. The weight on my items were spot on what I weighed at home and the price they gave me on the phone was what they paid. Went to other places where the price they pay isn’t what I was told on the phone and my items were underweighted. Happy I found this place keep up the great work.
Visibility is important and at Wrights you get to see the weight of the material your recycling. And that gives me peace of mind.
Otherwise at other places here in Austin I get that feeling that I'm "being taken advantage of" at the scale because the weight amount is not displayed (shady).

They are the best people that I have ever seen. I came from Florida and I didn't know much about scrap but thanks to them I have learned so much about scrap and now I make about 250-300 a day because I know what to get.i am still learning they really treat me like family which really means so much to me because I lost a aunt, grandmother, mother, brother, sister my older sister died a few months after them but all the rest died 3 months apart which was to much for me. But now that I have move to TX and found a new family and they make me feel like apart of the family help me to keep my head up and I will never forget the time that I over push myself and my sugar levels was low and could not unload my truck they did everything for me and gave me water and honey bun to help me with my sugar and they made sure to check on me to make sure that I was okay to drive. They are the best and will always treat you fairly and teach you if you want to learn go see them and you will see that every one is family and they act like the waltons family if the owner look like John boy
This is my yard of choice to bring all my scrap metal to. These folks are fair and always pay what the going rate for metal is and from my experience I am not thinking that they screwed me on what I had brought in. I highly recommend this place and I actually am closer to two other scrap yards that I don’t even consider because these guys treat me so well. Actually, the place is owned by a husband and wife team that started off scrapping and managed to open this yard.
The yard staff were very helpful and reapectful. I went into the office and explaind what I had and told them I needed a forkleft for a motor, showed photos and asked what the price was. Was fair but after unloading it and went back to the office for payment the price lowerd. Wont go back.
After visiting some of the local recycling centers and cringing as I make my escape, Wright Recycling was a warm blanket that helped me thru this covid mess. By far, the fairest and most honest establishment. If you need knowledge they are happy to give it to you. They accept all metals and electronics. Super +! My friends and I were getting robbed by the big name recyclers in town. One of them told us to visit Wright. I'm so glad they did.
I couldn't find a better recycling place to call home. If you're looking for honest payouts, awesome atmosphere, and a helpful staff, this is the place. I've recently gotten into recycling and have made my way in and out of the unsavory yards around Austin. You won't be disappointed at Wright Recycling.
After waiting over 30 min to even get anyone to notice me. Was turned away Bc I didn’t have a TX ID. Any other scrap yard I’ve been to except my out-of-state ID and I have a state cash card. Guy was very rude about it don’t waste your time going here. Haven’t had this problem at any other scrap yard in the state and I’ve gone to all of them from Austin to Dallas.
I gave them a one star because I have to. I dropped off 26 pounds of metal. I thought that I might get at least five to ten dollars. The lady gave me $1 dollar, she smiled when she gave me the money, I asked why and she said nothing. One of the items was made out of aluminum it was a fireplace fixture, the others were odds and ends. I will never use them again.
