My First time to use them for an oil change that was great. They did a bumper-to-bumper inspection on my car and found some stuff that needed to be done that I had no idea so I will be getting that taken care of soon.

The customer service here is phenomenal! The mechanics kept me well informed throughout the entire process and this is the most honest repair shop I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They have made a new, loyal customer out of me! I recommend 10/10!

Very disappointed in their service, and the way they conduct business. First I took my f150 in for a misfire, they told me to check it was free (no wrench) is the terms they use. I asked how much it would if they had to remove anything such as ignition coils or plugs, Lauren said it depended on what they did and Lauren specifically said “we do not do anything without you approval first” I said good If they going to charge the same as the ford dealer I would of rather took it to ford. Anyway, when I dropped off my truck it was around 4:30-5pm, and Joshua told me they would have to look at it the next day because it was to late to check. So I said ok and left the truck. Well the next day I was at work and got a message around 11:30am saying he was getting a bunch of codes shifting around and he wanted to move around ignition coils to see what the misfire would do. In the text he said it was going to be 197.00 to do that. This was all through a text , me being at work I do not have my phone with me all the time do I did not see the message until I got off work at 4pm. I NEVER authorized them to proceed with that. When I called up there to decline they had already moved ignition coils and plugs. Ford charges 220.00 for a full diagnostics, at 197.00 dollar I would have rather taken it to ford . Doing business over text is not ideal. Anyhow since they had already moved coils around I kept my calm and let it play out. Well then I get another message saying they needed to replace ignition coils with motorcraft coils and boots which was going to run around 1500 dollar. I declined that work. I talk to Joshua and he ok you can pick up the truck it is ready to go. After work I stopped by to pick up the truck , of course quick to charge the 197.00 dollars, after paying I waited an hour for them to bring my truck and only cause I told Lauren I need to go what is taking so long? Finally get in the truck to leave and soon as I get on Main st. check engine starts to flash on and off and the truck starts shaking with no power in the engine. When I took it to them truck was running good just had a little misfire when truck would come to a stop. So immediately pulled over and call Joshua asking was everything put back the way it was ? Because the truck is way worse and doesn't want to go. He said let me check with the tech, then he gets back on the phone and tells me yes everything was put back together, then goes on to try and feed me bullshit saying it was misfiring and well since we been moving things it got worse. I told him no this feel really bad thought I was going to have get it towed. Anyway instead of offering to bring truck back to check he said those coils really need to be changed. At this point I just want to get the truck home. So I make it home and I popped the hood first thing I see is ignition coil not even plugged up. At this point Im am really pissed he Joshua swore up and down his technicians were certified and were good at what they did. Yet they forget to plug back coils. Next day I called Joshua and told him what I found and of course he starts making excuses like it might have vibrated out , immediately stop him and tell him impossible it was not plugged back period! I he said the manger would reach out and still havent heard from him. I take it as a lesson learned. Using text instead of actually talking to customer for authorization , or if you are going to use text wait for a reply to proceed with work. I would have expected them to offer to bring back to double check when I told them truck was shaking bad and did not want to accelerate instead of pretty much tell me its my problem. Over all worst service I had in a long time.

Found these guys due to an emergency situation and I literally couldn't be happier. Professional from top to bottom and got me back on the road as soon as possible. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and just about every other good adjective you want from a mechanic. If I lived closer they would be my regular full-time shop. Prices were reasonable...yes it was a pricy job but would have been pricy anywhere and I'm very happy with their fee which was under the national average. Trust me, use them. My Silverado is happy I did.

Joshua helped me all the way through my car's repair by carefully explaining the problem and the steps needed to fix it. He didn't use any hard-sales tactics, just common sense. The whole experience was positive because of Joshua and my car runs like a top! I will definitely recommend SAR to my family and friends.

If you go here the shop is full of great equipment and seems like great people. Wage rate is high to me but that's were we are headed. Just make sure that if you are using a discount card we get in the mail ,before you pay make certain your bill is discounted because they sure won't credit it back to you

Very disappointed with who ever runs this shop. Communication is everything. I dropped off my truck there on Tuesday at 11am. I told the guy there I need my truck back today. I had other doctors appointments to attend for the day so they had plenty of time to get it done. I got a phone call from them around 3 and said if I wanted them to do the flush or just change out the thermostat, I said just change the thermostat. They closed at 6 and called them at 5 to check the status on it and he told me they need to keep it overnight and finish it in the morning. They haven’t even got the part yet and wasn’t happy at all.
I made it very clear that I needed it back the same day because I have to go to work in the morning.
I went and picked my truck up and definitely will not do any business with this shop!Jan 10, 2026 -
Josh did it again!! I had a faulty battery terminal connection and he fixed it in less than 2 minutes. I STRONGLY recommend this business to all Baytown due to their exceptional customer service and great techs!!

Joshua and Justin along with the SAR Team were efficient, friendly, quick and communicative on both vehicles I have brought them. No pressure just the facts with pictures to support their findings. 10/10 recommend and will be using them again.

Clean, comfortable, courteous
These folk are the true definition of what a professional mechanic shop should be. They took me in as a walk in, quoted a beyond reasonable price, and had me out the door as quickly as they could. The head mechanic even took time to debunk some diagnostic issues another mechanic tried to talk me into doing - you heard me, they talked me out of spending money for repairs I didn't need. And they were friendly, I mean almost hospitable. Numerous times I was checked on, to a point I began to wonder if I looked distressed.
This is how business should run, I hope I don't need them, but if I do, I'll gladly support them.

I drive an older automobile, and like many older auto's, things break down on them. Most of my truck is factory built and because it's old and used, it's lifeline is wearing out. That means repairs. I've taken my truck to other places and they keep it long, charge me a lot, and put a bandage on a bullet wound, I genuinely expected the same thing here....boy, was I wrong.
I've done business with them before, but it was simple, this was not. This was one of those 'uh-oh' repairs that have you looking for a new truck just in case. But these guys are different. I dunno, it's very difficult to describe fully, it's as if they share that same auto with you. It's not just a way to make money, it's getting a part of the family healthy and running right.
They could have gouged us, but, they didn't. They could have bent us over, but they didn't. Instead they were upfront honest, they helped us with a replacement rental, and they even shuttled us. The way they made me feel, was better than most family members do.

I had my BMW service at safe auto repair, however the technician didn't perform the work that was needed causing other problems. However when the owner became aware of the issue he solved the problem for me. At the end of the day I was pleased with the outcome.

I did not like the interaction that I had with Lauren. I was very transparent with her about my situation. And how I could not be without a car. 15 minute diagnostic one day service. That’s what I was told. Made arrangements drop the car off on a Friday. They did not diagnose. I had to call Lauren to get the update and at that point she said only one person could check it and they were backed up and they could possibly get to it on Tuesday. It felt like a bait and switch and when I said something about it, she started going back-and-forth with me. it felt like a bad used car salesman. I asked to speak to who was above her and I never got a phone call back. I will never use them again. And just for reference my car is fixed and it was literally a one day service. With a different shop. Buyer beware.

Made me waste my time! I did an appointment to get an estimate for my diesel repair and show up on time, manager came a few minutes later saying that he had no body to work on the estimate and had no exact time, it would’ve been nice at least to get a call a day before so i could cancel or re schedule , drove 1 hr because i really had a good feeling about this shop but i had to look somewhere for my repairs

They do a really good job and do a complete check to see what is wrong with the vehicle. I would definitely recommend them and ask for Derek. He is very friendly and he stays in touch with you to let you know what's going on. So if you need work done on your car that's the place to go

People at front desk very courteous and helpful. I requested overall check up on my truck. Was given free check up with detailed pics of every thing. So I could pick what I wanted fixed or not. The engine light was on when I came there. They gave me estimate and started to work. Fast...effecient...and no bs. 3 yr warranty on all that they do...love this!!

I came early am with little wait! I keep hearing noise and vehicle pulling. So decided to stop by ! They checked my tires and internal wheel parts. I don’t know much about cars but the front guy and mechanics were very knowledgeable. Ended up finding what the problem was . I knew I wasn’t crazy hearing the noises. Great job and experience!! Everyone was helpful

I wasn’t going to leave a review, but since I’ve received more requests for a review than I ever got phone calls with updates on my car, here it is. This was my first and was my last time coming to this shop.
My daughter's car sat there for over two weeks, and not once did I get the promised update calls—I had to constantly reach out myself just to get answers. The issue we had was that the battery was draining because the window kept randomly opening and closing on its own. I was quoted over $700 plus a $150 diagnostic fee to replace the passenger window module, harness and motor.
Each time I called, I was told they were waiting for part to come in and they were trying to locate since it was showing to be discontinued. I eventually asked for the part number so I could try to help locate the on my end. After having my car for two weeks I called again to get an update and they finally ended up telling me to pick up car because they couldn’t fix it.
When I finally got my car back, I did my own research and discovered this was a common issue in this car, and the discontinued part they told me I needed had nothing to do with my window components. The actual problem was a faulty door latch—something I was able to order on Amazon for $48 and fix myself.
This whole experience was beyond frustrating and a complete waste of time.Aug 17, 2025 -
First of all, I love the fact that this is a privately owned business and not owned by a private equity group that overworks & underpays a skeleton crew that is forced to overcharge and/or upsell at every opportunity.
I got a detailed breakdown of all needed repairs along with the cost, and I was offered various ways payments could be made.
They gave me a time frame of how long my vehicle would be at the shop, which seemed a bit long at first but there was a lot of work to be done and parts needed to be ordered so that’s fair. They finished early which was wonderful!
It’s been a few weeks since my vehicle was repaired, and I feel like an excellent job was done as not only are my former issues gone but there are no new sounds or squeaks as have happened previously with other shops.
Everyone I spoke with was courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. I definitely will use Safe Auto Repair for future repairs and will recommend them as they were recommended to me.Aug 14, 2025 -

I thought my 2019 Ram needed a cam / lifter replacement and after they checked it out it turned out the fuel system was just dirty. They flushed it and did some other repairs to it and havent had any issues after. They are very detail oriented and I dont think they miss anything when it comes to diagnostic and quality. Definitely will be going back when I need work done!

Brandon and the whole team at safe auto repair in Baytown are absolutely amazing. My husband had his cv axel come out of place. vehicle was towed to safe auto repair where they worked extremely hard to get our vehicle back to us by the end of the day and they did. Their rates are fair and reasonable will definitely bring my car back for any future work. Thank you so very much to the whole safe auto repair team you all are amazing.

Came in because a bracket came loose on my Chevy impala and it was scraping against my tire. Lauren was very kind and understanding to my situation because I did not want to be at a repair shop all day due to a missing bracket she directed me to Brandon who had my bracket fixed within 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend these guys to anyone and will be coming back in the future for any mechanical needs.

03/03/2025 I like the way the owner who was probably the guy who was the one I was dealing with apologized only for the towe and not the gash on the side of my car. This guy has great anger issues. Wow
I needed my car to start so I googled mechanics and went with my gut feelings. They offered a towe to their shop yesterday 02/272025 around 12 or 1. The towe man came and said are you paying or are they paying, I didn’t know how to answer that. I said I do. I was charged 135 for Graham Towing & something I forgot what else. So WDR called me this morning and said it was an electrical problem and that they want to run a diagnostic it was going yo be 135 something like that. I let them know that I spent too much money on the intowe. How can they charge 135 just to towe here in Baytown. It’s not customer service for them not to tell the customer that they should have the option to shop around for the cheapest towe driver. The man who manages got loud and asked that his guy did free basic things and that should his guy work for free? He asked would you work for free? Then he shouted that’s not customer service. He wouldn’t let me talk and spoke over me. Sad this man was so rude, never again will I come here and they have no customer service and my car has a big gash line running on the right side of passenger. Brought in a 2014 Jetta TDI, after spending upwards of 5,000$, the car left wdr with the same issue it was brought in for. EGR Cooler and DPF were “replaced”. Upon further evaluation I was also missing my skid plate, engine cover, and multiple missing bolts. My car is in worse condition now than when I brought it in. Lucky for them I can’t give a 0 star review.

This is my second time with WDR and I’d have to say that this place is definitely a few steps ahead of the rest. From the front desk to the waiting room, the shop to the service, they are top notch all the way around. The front staff was super friendly and helpful, the waiting room was clean, comfortable and fully stocked, the shop staff was knowledgeable and very thorough.
The shop crew was more than willing to explain every aspect of the job in detail and in a way that I understood it. They kept me updated throughout the process and made sure that I felt like the priority. The owner, Justin, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He definitely takes pride in his business and does his best to ensure that he and his staff provide trustworthy and professional service while making you feel at home in the process.
If you compare what you get from WDR to what you get from the other guys, WDR is not only more bang for your buck but, they also provide a much higher quality of service. WDR will definitely be my “go to” from here on out.Jul 03, 2024 -

I was really impressed with how clean and inviting the front desk and waiting area is and I was also pleasantly surprised to learn they work on both diesel and gas vehicles so I could bring my Audi back next time.

I'll try to make a long story really long.
Brought my truck in for some work to be done. Within a few weeks of getting it back, I had experienced a problem with the truck. Brought the truck back in, turns out the part they installed had failed. Was on the manufacturer, not the service provider. Justin and the mechanic Kyle were both surprised with the flaw of the part. Kyle took it back apart and did a permanent fix for me on it and promised it would not happen again. Justin honored the shop warranty and expensed everything himself, Parts/labor. (Roughly $800-$1k). Shortly after getting the truck back, I had experienced another issue with a piece that was installed on my truck. Kyle, the mechanic, came out to my house and did some troubleshooting with me (did not charge me once again). Narrowed it down to the part. Called customer service for the piece, they walked me through the repair and permanent fix for the part. So far so good with my truck almost 4 months later.
My wife has an identical truck to mine, brought it in for some similar work. So far so good. Not one hiccup (knock on wood).
