I had a great experience today with John. My son was coming home from college and his car got locked in a lower gear. I called Coleman Taylor transmissions and talked to john and he took care of my son and got him on the road quickly.
I thought I had a problem with my transmission. They checked it out thoroughly ended up. It was nothing. If this would’ve been any other shop they would’ve said. I need a transmission good honest folks I would definitely recommend them.

Honest company! I own a plumbing company that services the entire southeast. One of the biggest downfalls is having cans breakdown in another state. Mostly due to lying mechanics and over charging. These guys told the truth, told me it wasn’t a transmission problem and then recommended a different place. Even drove my vehicle to the other shop for me. Thanks guys!

Quick service on transmission for fluid and filters. Also had a fault for pressure sensor. Price was higher than estimated but manager called me before ordering and waived install fee of sensor as it was just a simple plug in sensor. Great communication, great service and support.

I had Coleman Taylor rebuild the Transmission on my 2019 Silverado. I called them Thursday morning, dropped off the truck Thursday at noon and they were done with the rebuild by Saturday. I told these guys on arrival that I work out of this truck and while it’s in the shop I can’t work. They had it in and out in 2 days. Fantastic customer service, they were available weeks before any Chevy dealership was, and they have much better warranties on their rebuilds. These guys know what they’re doing, they waste no time, and they take care of their customers. Not only that, my truck drives and shifts like it’s brand new. Best transmission shop around.
They went above and beyond with customer service. They diagnosed my problem . I didn't need transmission work, they recommended a place that could fix it then DELIVERED my car over their. Who does that? Thank you for good Ole fashion customer service ??

we previously took our car to another shop and left so worried and concerned with the noises and shifting problems we thought we had. john was so helpful and went above and beyond to assure us that it was working just how its supposed to. he drove us around and answered every question we had about absolutely anything and told us if we ever need anything to come right back. he gave us an assurance you cant buy with money, i was freaking out! the inspection was free as well which is amazzzinngggg!! I can't say enough good things about John and the Team at Coleman Taylor Transmission.
If there is a nightmare vehicle it is mine. I took it in on July 17th because the vehicle would not go in reverse. John checked it out and determined it was the transmission. They rebuilt it and I got it back early August.
After having it a couple days the same symptoms resurfaced. I took it back in and John honored the warranty. He purchased all new components and rebuilt my transmission again at no additional cost to me. I got it back after Labor Day!
After driving it a few more days new symptoms arose as well as the original symptoms. This time John came to the house to check it out and determined new issues arose related to the transmission but were very intermittent. He had me drop off the car again. This time he had the car for 2 months. He had Ford come out and check the computer and update the computer. He also took it to a mechanic to have them trace all the electrical to ensure no electrical issues. All this at no additional cost to me. Once determined it was still the transmission he purchased a replacement housing and all new parts for the final rebuild.
He delivered the car to the house for the inconvenience of being without a vehicle for months. He also restarted the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty.
Anyone else would have washed their hands of the vehicle a long time ago and either gave the money back or left it to me to prove it was the transmission. This was an unusual issue and extremely difficult to diagnose and resolve. Coleman Taylor stuck with it until it was resolved.
I would highly recommend them for all your transmission needs!
The transmission on my wife’s 2016 Escape began slipping unexpectedly so we parked it to avoid more damage. Colman Taylor advertises free diagnostics and they have a good reputation both publicly and word of mouth so we had it towed in. When I dropped it off I told them that if it needed a total rebuild that there was a possibility that we may not go forward with the repair. It ended up needing a total rebuild and we decided to not have it repaired. They arraigned to have it towed back to my house and I paid for towing both ways. The bottom line is they did what they advertised and said without any pressure. Yes I would recommend them and if the repair was anything other than a total rebuild we would have had them do the work.
My experience with Coleman Taylor transmission in Jackson Tennessee was absolutely amazing.very honest techs who called every step of the way to let me know of any changes or if any parts were needed to bought. I put my faith in Johns hands and he did not disappoint me in anyway. Kudos to John and TJ at Coleman Taylor. I am so thankful. These guys are top notch, after 50 years of business I would feel comfortable saying Coleman Taylor only employees the best, you don’t stay in business that long and not.
I live an hour away and after receiving a bad transmission diagnosis from a local Nissan dealership that was going to cost me $7000 to fix, I wanted a second opinion. I called Coleman Taylor and talked to TJ and he said get it to him, I drove to Jackson and after he and John looked at it, they decided it was a wheel bearing and not the transmission. HONEST!! I had already been given a quote for a new transmission, this is where my trust was gained. They could have sold me a transmission at a better price than 7 grand but instead referred me to Sterling Automotive to have wheel bearing replaced. Now my car is back to perfection. $400 later.

While traveling I-40 near Jackson, TN my transmission started acting up. Luckily I called Coleman Taylor and they got my truck into their shop and repaired very quickly and at a reasonable price. Even came and picked me up after truck was repaired. I would highly recommend this shop!! Very knowledgeable, experienced and honest which is hard to find now-a-days.
These people are all true professionals. I am not from the area. They worked so hard and so quickly I’ve never seen such efficiency in any auto shop anywhere. The tow company they sent was also awesome. All of them are great people. The price was more than fair but the experience was phenomenal. My dad and I were coming through Jackson when the F450 lost the transmission in the process of moving. Called up Coleman Taylor and they got the tow truck to take us there. Best experience I have ever had with a shop. They repaired and rebuilt the transmission and had us on the road within 24 hours of breaking down. Helped us out a ton.
