It's unfortunate that I have to leave one star in order to write this review. If I could rate them with -100,000,000 stars I would. This experience dates back all the way to June 2024. They were the only shop around that was able to work on my truck's transmission right away. The first thing I noticed when we pulled up with the transmission was the fact that it looked like a junk yard/car dealership. There was so many vehicles there we didn't have a legitimate place to park so we just parked. Rick himself talked to my dad and I. He seemed to have an attitude but what old man doesn't? Anyways he said it would be a week and it'll be fixed. Well, a week turned into a month. After $986.00 we brought the transmission home. Went to install it and it wasn't fixed properly. If it was actually fixed properly it would've lined up and would've been able to be installed. They then refused to take the transmission back for a whole month. Now it is August 2024. My dad and his boss trailer the truck and the transmission back to the shop. Rick himself said he would get to it right away. Guess what? 6 whole weeks go by and my truck is still in the same spot it was when my dad and his boss unloaded it off the trailer. Rick just kept making up every excuse in the book as to why he couldn't work on it. My dad had to go up there and talk to him. He then started working on it. First, he said he had to redo the whole transmission. Then he kept finding all kinds of things that he just had to repair in order for the truck to even run. Now Rick is asking for more money, $2,000.00 more. He said he had to work on the transmission, fix a supposed oil leak, and fix the entire brake system in order for the truck to even run. My dad was calling the shop 3-4 times a week and every time Rick was supposedly with a customer or test driving a vehicle. The receptionist even claimed that Rick had constantly been calling my dad with updates. That's a complete lie. It is now December 20th 2024. A total of 5 months straight this shop has had my truck. Since when in the history of mechanic shops do they take 5 months to fix a vehicle? My dad has just gotten home with my truck. It ran and drove, but guess what? There's an oil leak that's so severe the entire truck was smoking, the transmission is NOT fixed and NOT shifting right, and the truck barely has any power to barely even drive. Why is it a total of 6 months and my truck isn't fixed? DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS SHOP! They are scammers and liars! Now, I'm going to have to take my truck to yet ANOTHER shop. At least I know another shop will actually work on my truck and fix it! I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO "Rick's Reliable Transmissions"! They need to change their name from "Reliable" to "Junk"!
I want to give a big shout out to Rick's Reliable Transmission in Crossville, TN. I traveled to Crossville from Western Kentucky with my grandson, pulling my camper to see my aunt. My truck started going crazy, ended up being a Transmission problem. Rick's got my truck Tuesday at 4:15, ordered the parts, (wrong parts showed up, his wife ran to Ford in Cookeville to pickup correct parts) got it repaired, and back to me by Friday. Remember, 4th of July was on Thursday and they were closed. Now, I'm ready to head home on Saturday. I'm overwhelmed of how honest and professional Rick's Reliable Transmission has treated me, I would highly recommend them to anyone with a Transmission issue. Thanks RM

I had my first scary experience traveling out of state and having my transmission completely go out on me on the highway in Tennessee. I didn’t know where the heck i was at and I had my little one with me, causing me panic. Thankfully, i was able to coast my van off the highway and get someone to tow us to a car shop. The first car place didn’t even want to deal with my transmission, which i am thankful because it led me to Ricks reliable Transmission. I was already extremely upset and scared, because I didn’t know how i was going to get home to South Carolina, with my young daughter. Rick went above and beyond anyone i have ever met in my life! He took it upon himself to call enterprise for me while i was in tears, and he even made sure i got to enterprise and then his son even unloaded my travel stuff from my van to my rental!! I have never seen so much compassion in my life!! I made it home to SC and left my van with Rick so he could fix it and he got the job done!! I recommend him seriously. He has a big heart and he is a honest man. He doesn’t know it, but he has left a major impression on my heart forever and i will never forget what he has done for me and my 6 year old. I will forever be grateful and now i have a new transmission and fixed converter. Praise God. Thank you so much Mr. Rick.
Rick and his team were wonderful! We had traveled from Albuquerque, NM to Crossville, TN, nearing the end of our 19 hour drive and started having "issues" with our truck. It was the Monday before Thanksgiving and Rick fit us in, took the time to look at the truck, diagnose it, and explain what our options were. He was honest, compassionate, and assured us we could get the problems fixed when we got home. Thank you Rick ...it is businesses like yours that keep us believing in America. Blessing.

I cannot thank Rick enough. Fixed our transmission and installed an aux trans cooler that made a huge difference when towing in the mountains of Colorado and Utah.

We called for an appointment and were put on the schedule in about 2 days. We received a diagnosis within a couple of hours. The work on our vehicle was completed fast. They did a great job. We highly recommend their service. Mr. Rick was always in contact with us. That was a plus. Very friendly and family oriented atmosphere.

Went to Ricks two weeks ago to get my tramission fluid changed. They did a great job and were very friendly and we'll priced. I go back to them in a heart beat.
My family and I broke down in our RV going to North Carolina, transmission went out. Rick and his crew got us back on the road with a new Jasper transmission. It's not easy to find someone to work on class A rigs but they did. Prices are fair and they are great to deal with. Highly recommend.

Rick is one of several transmission shops my family has used over the years, but he's the only one I recommend. He stands behind his work with an excellent warranty, actually does the work he says he did, and is honest and helpful. We've probably had him rebuild a dozen transmissions over the years, and I've been happy with every one.

Thought we might have a transmission issue so we went to Rick's. They were very helpful, fast and thorough trying to troubleshoot the issue, which turned out to be nothing to worry about. Sam was awesome.
Rick did a great job replacing the transmission on our 2001 Honda Odyssey. Working great and they even noticed and fixed an engine valve leak. They are trustworthy, reliable and a great price.
