beautiful park, strenuous hike for me but loved it. wish people kept their dogs on a leash, other than that stunning.

Amazing long driveway that takes you about 10 minutes to get to the main area, which is awesome. Gorgeous park--I did the Nature Trail loop. 1.5 miles which brings you down by the river. Saw 2 deer.

Loop trail was more of a workout for my shoulders than legs. Either way it was beautiful and well worth the effort. I think if you bike it clockwise it has a little better flow. They did a great job cutting and clearing the downed trees from the storm a year ago. They also incorporated some of those trees into the trail. Kicked up some deer early and saw 2Great Blue Herons in the creek along the trail.

Our visit was brief but pleasant. There'll be more to review when we have time for a longer visit. We did hike a short distance along Kelsey creek. We were impressed at how well the park is maintained. We also stopped at Craig Lake for a few minutes.

We camped in a 44’ class a with tow. We had been doing one nighters for a few days prior. It felt good to have some room again. Easy in, park across from the office and you’re good to go. We stayed in site #1 and it was reasonably level. Not crowded, lots of hiking or bike riding. The maintenance was superb with staff cleaning the sites and roads of leaves. One fault, a few low branches weren’t good for a bigger coach. We went out the way we came in to avoid them. It was a one way but we could easily see if anyone was coming. After all, it was site one.?

Fishing was not great, but it was a beautiful day! Bathrooms were close by.

Nice setting. Slopes on about half the lots are extreme for Class A RVs but we managed.

Great camping experience. At first glance, the sites seemed close together, but once set up, there was decent privacy. Great place to bike, hike, watch horses and relax. There is a playground near the horses.

Mountain biked a portion of the Southside Loop and Palmetto Trail. Moderately technical in spots with some flowy portions. Will definitely be back.

Great State Park. I only camped, but very interested in the horse trails. Cool history to the place that I just didn't know about this region. The RV spots were decently spaced. The park it's self is pretty and well wooded.

Croft State Park is great for hiking, biking and kayaking. The water in lake Craig is a bid murky typical for the south. But the atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. There is abundant wildlife to observe.

This park is one I wasnt a fan of at arrival. The sites for larger campers were difficult to get into, not level and we got a lot of judging stares from neighbors. However it grew on me just a little bit as we stayed, only because of the views. The park is beautiful. Absolutely breathtaking at times. We are big fishers and regardless of fishing all day everyday we didn't catch more than 3 fish. There was weak to no wifi which I enjoy when its time to unplug but also creates issues if you need to work.

7/23/25 Nice comfy family trails from beginners/intermediate. Lots of short backs. A few trails are dangerous, be cautious. Some trails with heavy drops with large rocks. Donations are recommended and possibly enforced. Group ride on Tuesday Evening weather?

Croft State Park is where we cut our teeth, learning to camp and meeting some great people willing to help us learn. It will always hold a special place in our hearts. It is also a wonderful place to go hiking.

It was a great experience. The lady in the office was very nice, and knowledgeable. Even after the storm damage, the trails were well maintained.

Rainy weekend. Rangers were very helpful- campsites were good. Lots of lake views bathhouses were clean. Would definitely go back. We didn't get to hike as much as we wanted due to weather.... What we saw was nice

Great state park experience from beginning to end of my visit. Warmly greeted at the entrance gate and the road leading further into the park was very scenic consisting of numerous loblolly pine trees. Office staff was very friendly and helpful providing information about Croft State Park and was given a complimentary booklet about all the state parks in South Carolina. Plenty of space to park vehicles and a variety of terrain to run on - paved roads, gravel and well-kept trails that provide beautiful views of the fall color change taking place at present time. The trail I ran on had some nice incline and decline providing some challenge during the course of my run. Ran by Lake Craig which also provided some beautiful views. My second favorite state park in South Carolina.

Beautiful Park! Hopefully it survived the hurricane! Wonderful relaxing swings by the creek, beautiful lake with Kayak and canoe rentals. Nice clean campground. Multiple hiking, biking and horseback trails. ?

A very relaxing quiet and well maintained park with some different histories. Gravel/dirt roads and sites in the campground. Beautiful concrete walkway along the lakeshore to the boat house with benches, swings and a hammock to appreciate the lake views and sunsets. Very extensive trail system to hike bike or ride horses. We tried biking one but found it somewhat strenuous for our abilities and cut it short. We hiked some of the other shorter trails for hiking. Lake is small but great for paddling. Fished the side opposite the campground and caught several keeper sized fish in a kayak. No swimming in the lake but there is a creek available down a short trail and its great for kids to play in or adults for wading. There are some deep pockets tho.

We had a wonderful time. The bathrooms were very clean and a cool 68°. Croft is always well taken care of. We love camping here. We liked the swings they added next to the river and play ground.

Wonderful park with a lot of activities. I stayed at the sites nearest to the horse stalls. The staff was great, the sites were level and amplely sized, and the bathrooms/bathhouse were clean. They were cleaning up from some recent wind damage but for the most part the horse trails were clear and well marked. If bringing horses I highly recommend shoes/trail boots as the trails have sections with a lot of roots and rocks. I also recommend a mosquito net as the gnats can be annoying when it warms up. The gift shop has really great looking souvenir shirts. There are really nice playgrounds for kids... Kayaking, fishing, hiking.... The trail to go back to the creekside is short enough to be good for kids but long enough to make you feel like you are away from everything else. Overall a great park for all camping types.

Gorgeous, clean, peaceful, historic, and has something for everyone! It has playgrounds, historic graveyards, trails, a big stunning lake, a river, places to camp (tent or RV), ride horses, canoe, fish, etc! There's a little office with welcoming employees to point you in the direction you want to go. My friend and I roamed around the lake and met super sweet families (it was Spring Break in Spartanburg) who were there to respectfully enjoy the place. It's a safe place to explore, and we're definitely returning... hopefully soon!

This park is amazing and huge. There is so much to do, a lot of trail options, you have the lake that is beautiful, and a little river. It is so peaceful. You can also see the horse trail and it is so wonderful, peaceful and magical

The park has a lot of history and plenty of space to roam. Trails for bikes, hikes, and horses abound. Kayak and paddle board rentals are available. The views around the lake are gorgeous, adventurous around the creek. I stayed for 4 nights; both camping loops have water and power hookups, 20/30’s really serve me best and this park has them. The showers and bathrooms are clean and nicely functional; a warm shower is always a treat!

This is a long time favorite of mine. When I lived in SC I would camp here ALL the time, taking horses and dogs in tow. Now I visit every time I’m in the area. The trails are well marked and well maintained. Campsites are always in great shape and the bathhouse is usually clean. I love all the water access for horses and dogs to play in. If you’re lucky you’ll visit on a horse show weekend, they are always beautiful to watch!

It's impossible to do everything that is available at this state park. I'm surprised it's not a national park. There are so many things to do - kayak, swim, fish, camp, hike, bike, ride a horse... it's endless. The park is beautiful and pretty mountainous. We walked the nature trail, but we will DEFINITELY be coming back to kayak, swim, and walk some other trails. The lake is huge and provides many opportunities. I would consider the park a camping paradise. I cannot express how amazing this park is!

More geared towards horse riding, there were still some nice trails. But they could use a little love... the nature trail's signs were all broken or fallen down. Pay attention because some of the trails are overgrown, and you could get lost. Tried to enjoy the lake, but the blasting music from the campers ruined the experience.

What a hidden gem! Maybe it’s not hidden? But why did it take me so long to finally visit this beautiful place?! The lake is so peaceful and the nature trail was the perfect hike for someone who doesn’t want just a flat easy trail but also isn’t trying to climb up the side of a mountain. It’s a little narrow in parts but none of it was difficult. Also, the nature trail is a 1.5 mile loop that runs along a creek and is just one of the hiking trails there, they also have shorter trails and longer ones (some for horseback riding too). They also have kayaks and paddle boards available for rent at Lake Craig. We can’t wait to return.

Nice place for hiking, bike-riding or horse-riding. Just a couple dollars to get in. We had a great hike to the lake and found out that there was a horse show the next day. Several hikes to choose from and the paths are clearly marked. It's nice to come upon some horses in your walk
